Might test the 4 mana 4/4 that deals 3 to all in Relic DH. Condition doesn't seem too bad to satisfy, more board clears are nice to get through aggro matchups, and if you have the Argus Titan on board this can be used as another Silvermoon Arcanist+Unleash Fel combo(or if on 9 mana you can go Titan -> Reduce minion cost by 2 to play him for 2 mana.) Another card for synergy with Enchanter as well. And if you get the cost reduced off of Relic of Dimensions it can help in a clutch situation.

I think this single point pulls the quality of the tendril package/Yogg down a TON. I was also assuming that the spells cast off tendrils would count as you casting spells, but you're totally right... Bummer
But the chaotic tendril does state "cast a random spell" it should count as cast a spell to discount yogg. I would think that's why they made chaotic tendrils in this mini set.
I see Yogg played in rogue with multiple ways to bounce him back to hand. Theoretically you could play Yogg 2-3 times in 1 turn really quickly. Take all the opponents big stuff and kill the rest
I think the armor is compelling on the forbidden druid card. I think it needs to be recognized that even casting it at 10 for 20 armor when you just need some more HP isn't a situation that will never happen.
Those 1 mana 1/1s will be such a consistant chaos, because so far there is 5? 10 mana spells, 3 9 mana spells and it can go either very poorly for you or very good
maybe the prisonbreaker should have a battlecry like: "for each 2 spells you've cast this game, deal 1 damage to all enemies." or "deal 0 damage to all enemies (improved for every 2 spells you've cast this game)" the first one seems to me like it would do the damage repeatedly one for one, but the second one has a 0 in it which looks kind of odd... maybe go with 1 damage at a base?
I think the tendrils should be discover, but the choices only last on screen for 1.5 seconds. makes you really engage to get a good choice and lends to the chaos whenever you miss a more optimal choice.
Contaminated Lasher being 4 mana regain on a battlecry sounds fun if you get to double up or repeat your battlecries. Would be very fun with things like Bran (2 mana refresh 8 - net 6 gain), or Brilliant Macaw / Shudderwock style effects (both of these being shaman exclusives from the past).
Brann wouldn't be much of a net gain the turn you play him since 3 + 2 = 5 mana, thus you're netting a 3 mana refresh. Brann would need to survive for a turn in order to net 6 mana which almost never happens since Brann is a must kill target. That being said it does open up slightly more mana in the Brann turn making Brann essentially "free", you're only paying mana for the Lasher.
Honestly, the way to do it would be add a 1 cost chaos spell to your hand Chaos spells are temporary copies that target randomly and cost 0 So they have the spell synergy that yogg wants and the choice to not play the spell if it's not good
The card seems pretty alright and would slot into alot of control decks easily as its versatile . Card seems good even if you get it down to something like 6 mana and is extremely versatile especially compared to something like Sylvanus .
Sylvanas is an old classic card though. Extremely powerful back in the days since the game was much more minion focused, now she's just too slow and has been powercrept. No one really plays Sylvanas anymore too
I didn't know that the tendrils wouldn't count toward the spell count on Yogg, they are just far more useless now. Looks fun to just test it all in a random duels or standard.
Don't know how good Yogg will be as a package *by itself*, but in conjunction with other spell-based packages, I don't see why it couldn't be good. Rogue has some decent synergy with bounce around and shadowstep. Yes, normally bounce around wouldn't be very good, but since all the tentacles are 1 mana anyways, you don't actually have to play them on the same turn and it just becomes a 3 mana board bounce. You can play Yogg, fill your hand with tendrils, play them all, then bounce back everything making Yogg cheaper for next turn. Also, the big positive of old Yogg was that you eventually got some sort of board clear, and while that might not be as likely now, you have plenty of tools to fiddle around with and an insane amount of value with tendrils. And a deck like miracle rogue already plays 600 spells by turn 5, so that's not even a hindrance for the most part. Sif mage is another one, though for a slightly different reason. You might still play Yogg, but in Sif mage getting access to random spells means getting a chance to cast spell schools mage doesn't have access to. The tendrils are really what you're after, Yogg is just a good followup and can give you even more lethality or survivability out of nowhere. The deck also doesn't care about making weird plays, it already cheats a ton of mana and clears the board efficiently. It might not be amazing right now, but it's also not unplayable, maybe with the tendrils it'll actually gain some consistency just in the sheer number of random chances you're getting at holy/fel/nature spells. It seems like the package is better in archetypes that want kind of specific things they don't normally have access to. There are also a lot of random spells that generate things, so perhaps you get generated cards often enough that it gives you consistency on the backend. I'm not totally sold on this package being unusable, I think people just aren't thinking outside the box enough. There'll be some tier 2-3 deck that uses this madness, I'm almost certain of it.
I wish Yogg had "Cast a random spell for each tendril you played this game" instead of the tendril ability. Would make running tendril cards worth it even more and keep the spirit of his previous incarnations.
Forbidden fruit looks insane ! Given certain conditions I see it being a 20 attack st least on turn 10 without Guff !!! Yogg looks interesting. The tentacle option looks cliche'. i think you might underestimate the tendrils. sure they can backfire but as a rogue you might cast a random 3 or 4 cost spell as soon as turn 2 maybe even turn 1 with chogall shenanigans
Yeah, seems like the tendrils might be the best in Rogue, mainly on the strength of that deal 3 card. On the other hand though, Yogg seems like a card for a control or a spell-heavy midrange deck, which Rogue might have problems creating, so even the main payoff deck for his tendril option wouldn't be able to take full advantage of it. Pretty sad, at least the tendrils seem like a fun addition to the Casino Mages of the world or whatnot.

@@kripperinoobviousino6019 we have seen in the past other cards that do that, but i also misread the card. we have seen cards where their "improvement" was not just 1 aspect of the card but multiple. i can't remember the card off hand, but wanted to make sure that the tenticles do not get multi variable improvement.
Not sure why no ones talking about the condition on yogg and prison breaker (and lasher). The tenticles cast the spells which progresses the condition "if you CAST # spells...". Yes, it will be inconsistent, but a deck running tenticals will most likely be playing from behind, and random spells are mostly better when playing from behind. Have you never played Hearthstone before? YOU need to cast the spells in order to discount Yogg, not the tendrils. This mechanic is seen in countless other cards like Crash of Thunder, Shadow of Demise, The Garden's Grace and Wisdom of Norgannon
@kripperinoobviousino6019 yeah you're totally right. Idk why that feels counterintuitive to me even though we've seen it before. Must be rusty with game mechanics, haven't played in a while
Tendrils aren't spells, if you've played Hearthstone before you'd know that cards casting spells randomly doesn't count for spell discounts. You're not casting the spell, the tendril is casting it
I find it a bit baffling that the new Yogg (or any other Yogg for that matter) has absolutely no synergy with the tendrils. The tendrils don't count as spells, and most of the cards that generate them are minions too. I know that they won't do this, but I think they should code the Tendrils to count towards the spell casts for Yogg.
A little surprised that you're so down on Prison Breaker. It's a neutral 3 damage AOE on a 4/4 body, 3 damage goes face. I dunno, can't imagine it's never looked at.
Mage is going to be a bigger pain in the ass with this mini set. Now they get Yogg for free (Easy to get him to 0 mana) and she'll steal your Titan. To to mention her spell that summons a boardwide of 4/5 elementals basically has rush now with Yogg.
Would Prison Breaker be too broken if spells after 5 added +1 more damage to the effect? You could maybe push back the mana cost for balancing purposes. Otherwise an easy 1 star for me
I think the tendril woud discount yogg and count for prison breaker cause they whrote cast and not played so i think they work this way and might be bether than you think. And that's why we see tendrils in those 5 spell conditions card art ( I supose ....)
No they don't discount Yogg, if you've played Hearthstone before you would know, YOU need to cast the spells. In this instance the tendrils are casting them. This works the same way as cards like Convoke the Spirits or Deck of Wonders, they didn't discount anything either. Such an effect would be too strong
This feeling when Hearthstone changed to make insane statistic in just few turns and then they try to release something like chaotic tendrils I mean this card might be usefull/fun in old hearthstone but nowadays damn it's just too slow

Hey Regis. First of all: I agree with you, that Tendrils are not very good. But I have to imagine, that Yogg Saron still is a 5Star card. Imagine Control Warlock or Relic Demon Hunter. Both of them constantly clear the board with spells, both of them go the very long game. And at some point, you will be able to play a let´s say 5 Mana Yogg and steal their biggest stuff or wiping their board, while also adding still more threatening effects. And on top of that you have quite some mana left to work with. A Demon Hunter could easily bring 2 8/8s on the board as well with relics, a warlock could play lokan for instance (okay, 4 mana yogg...) So not only do you have a cheap way to deal with something or even steal it, but you also can create an extreme amount of board pressure. Most Titans die before they can use their third ability anyway, so let the tendrils be the last one and have an insane control option. And if your ahead somehow, the tendrils might just be good enough, even without more synergies. Let´s say you get 5 of them and you play them out. I feel you are pretty likely to draw some cards, get a random secret and kill one of your and your opoonents minions. Not awesome, but okay. Needles to say: Yogg can easily even be 0 Mana, since you´re playing so much spells, that discover spells. So you get a 0 Mana board clear maybe, or a steal and still can build an insane amount of stuff. I don´t think I would cut him in any spellbased deck.
I can practically guarantee forbidden fruit is getting banned in wild so long as guff is still relevant. 20 mana = 20 attack; together with a forged windfury weapon or a "combine both" effect is an unfun swing turn to go up against.
That won't be banned at all, do you realize how slow that is? Decks go way faster than the time it would take to pull off such a slow combo. The matches are most often decided before turn 5-6 with crazy aggro rushing you down or some broken combo bursting you down from nowhere

Must be rusty with game mechanics, haven't played in a while
Titan Yogg seems incredibly slow, and doesn’t have quite the drop down impact I would have hoped for.
"Tentacle Swarm If you're ahead and looking for a proactive play"
If you're ahead and want to throw the game with RNG.
Forbidden Fruit with both effects combined? Get a load of attack and armor for some spare mana.
Yogg Unleashed -> Tendrils + The Caverns Below = easy multiple spell rogue.
does tendrils reduce the cost of yogg? it says cast a random spell, so i would think that can work towards yogg‘s mana reduction, anyone knows?
Tendrils aren't spells, if you've played Hearthstone before you'd know that cards casting spells randomly doesn't count for spell discounts. You're not casting the spell, the tendril is casting it
rogue just got another crazy deck
Could Prison Breaker be improved with: "Deal 1 damage to all enemies (improved by number of spells you've cast this game)."?
Mage is not playing that, the only viable mage deck is a weird Naga spell school deck. No one is playing the 7 mana spell
Would Prison Breaker be too broken if spells after 5 added +1 more damage to the effect? You could maybe push back the mana cost for balancing purposes. Otherwise an easy 1 star for me
It's not a 1 star card lol, it's not totally unplayable garbage, a spell heavy deck could use it and it's not totally irrelevant
Can tbwait to play a 100 yoggs in rougue
I hope Yogg will See play
chaotic tendrills is random like the prison of yogg-saron still rng
Quad Yog chaos mage here we come
What I'm seeing is, battlecry Yogg cards will work with shaman'
I wish the chaotic tendrils were 0 mana.
I wish they had Echo.
Dripfeeding yog spells for 1 mana would be sick lol
I think the tendril woud discount yogg and count for prison breaker cause they whrote cast and not played so i think they work this way and might be bether than you think. And that's why we see tendrils in those 5 spell conditions card art ( I supose ....)
No they don't discount Yogg, if you've played Hearthstone before you would know, YOU need to cast the spells. In this instance the tendrils are casting them. This works the same way as cards like Convoke the Spirits or Deck of Wonders, they didn't discount anything either. Such an effect would be too strong
I think yogg will be good in big priest :)
I think a swarm of 10 tickles is more than enough to defeat your opponent.
This feeling when Hearthstone changed to make insane statistic in just few turns and then they try to release something like chaotic tendrils I mean this card might be usefull/fun in old hearthstone but nowadays damn it's just too slow
If the tentacle swarms read "discover and cast a 1 cost spell. Improve your future..." would it be good? It is way better yet doesn't feel OP.
I want to play Yogg with an empty hand and get TENtacles hehe
Why not make forbidden fruit dual class with warrior? We're at a point where druid is a better armor class than warrior
would be too op with Odyn. It would be a single card that gives 20 armor and deals 20 damage for 10
I get that Titan is a keyword but it bugs me that yogg isn't even a titan
Who at Blizzard is having a tentacle obsession lately? I don't judge, I just wanna talk to them.
Game name
I could see rouge and druid playing yogg on turn 2 - 3
Miracle rogue with board clears? Oh no...
In standard? How would Rogue or Druid play Yogg on turn 2? Tell me the cards required because I can't wrap my head around it. Even in Wild it seems difficult unless you have the nuts opening
@@iuricunhamurakami8261 was talking about wild dont play standard. Druid had enough mana refreshs that tony druid exists. And off the top of my head loan shark could be used in some kinda deathrattle set up. For turn 3 - 4
@@JackSmith-rr1od I am talking about wild miracle rouge as well
Coin, fake coin, prep, secret passage, gear shift, you could very easily drop yogg on turn 4 for 0 mana
Praise Yogg
PRAISE YOGG!
As a Warlock main, this mini expansion is a huge disappointment
A Demon Hunter could easily bring 2 8/8s on the board as well with relics, a warlock could play lokan for instance (okay, 4 mana yogg...)
So not only do you have a cheap way to deal with something or even steal it, but you also can create an extreme amount of board pressure.
Regis doesn't believe in the Yogg. Chaotic tendrils are life! lol. Joking aside, I think it'll be entertaining at the least, but not a top tier deck.
Tentacles with Shudderwock anybody?
Sure, you'd just be dead before pulling off that combo
"Just a Pyroblast"..sad
I can practically guarantee forbidden fruit is getting banned in wild so long as guff is still relevant. 20 mana = 20 attack; together with a forged windfury weapon or a "combine both" effect is an unfun swing turn to go up against.
That won't be banned at all, do you realize how slow that is? Decks go way faster than the time it would take to pull off such a slow combo. The matches are most often decided before turn 5-6 with crazy aggro rushing you down or some broken combo bursting you down from nowhere
Tendrils are gonna be trash
Hate to be so negative, but this miniset feels awful. Yog needed to be exciting but he just feels like a core set priest 8 drop.
This isnt doing what a miniset needs to do - concince me to come back after I'm bored of the expansion.
