Great review. Personally, I do love the Dior Homme Parfum, as well as Intense and the original. (I still have a bottle from 2013.) Each of them has a special place in my collection, even though I mostly use either the Intense or Parfum. But I'm not a big fan of the Sport, and when it comes to Dior Homme 2020, I do like the shower gel and deodorant stick, but not the fragrance itself, since I have others that fill the same spot. Like many, I love the scent of this one. However, it breaks my heart every time I wear it because I go noseblind to it within just a few minutes. I have a sensitivity to ambroxan and other aromachemials and when they are blended in certain proportions, it causes instant anosmia. I wasn't able to sample it since I'm in the US, so I blind bought it not knowing I wouldn't be able to smell it. It's not the fragrance's fault, though, and it's a wonderfully crafted scent. I do enjoy it for the brief 3-4 minutes I can detect it. 😂 Oh, and as far as the black tube in the bottle...If I recall early marketing images made it look as if the tube was a man's tie, so try to imagine the bottle as a man's torso and the tube is his tie.
So sad you don’t get to enjoy this. I’m extremely sensitive to certain things and can barely smell stuff like Sauvage edt or even BR 540. This one I can easily detect down to 12 hours later. Amazing.
@@SeldomlyOften Yes, sadly, this one is an outlier for me. It's usually the "blue" fragrances that I go anosmic to most often, but this one ended up doing it as well.

Great review. I think Dior Homme Parfum is one of the best men's fragrances ever created. Not just for a designer -- I think it holds its own against niche fragrances as well. I have no idea why Dior refuses to distribute this in the U.S. I guess they assume American men only like woody-blue fragrances. I was hoping that Francis Kurkdjian would inject new interest into the original Homme line, but looks like we're stuck with--at least in the States--the pleasant but boring fragrance that the current Dior Homme has become.
This became a top 5 for me, and I agree with you that it is more versatile than people say it is… Dont understand why people say it’s too heavy and only use for Winter and formal occasions… I would use it any time that’s not too hot. I have gotten crazy compliments at work from the ladies… this is one I don’t get tired of smelling and it will always be in my collection. Definitely can be a signature scent. I do have to say that on my skin the dry down gets a little animalic from the oud, which I love, it adds a little bit edge and darkens it a bit. I hope they keep it in production for ever!!
@@Devasterium I don’t know, some people are just averse to heavy scents and feel more comfortable with fresher stuff. It wears dry and comforting to me, absolutely love it!
I love it, and i have a decant of it. But i bought Dior Homme Intense instead. I find the Intense is better on me. Can't agree with Parfum not smelling anything like Intense. Having one on each hand, it's easy to smell all the common origins. There are absolutely a difference between them though. Dark and leathery vs light aromatic. But very much similar. Parfum is Hard to get in Norway too. Apparently, it's not available in all countries in Europe. Could be ingredients that are banned in certain countries maybe...?
The ingredient banning makes sense, except in some countries stock comes and goes. They for sure smell similar but they have completely different vibes to me.
@SeldomlyOften The vibe, I agree with. Intense feels light, and has a more woody tone. The Parfum is more of a heavy and "dominant" feel. It has more presence and is denser.
@MMM-ii7ce I don't think it's more or less sweet. It's more like the Parfum has more stuff going on, and it hides the sweetness a bit. For example, if you eat a chocolate bar with 10 grams of sugar, it's sweet. But if eat 10 grams of sugar on its own, it becomes too sweet. And now that you mention it (I'm smelling both), the Parfum has a smokey note that does feel kinda dry, yes.
100% agree, I was blown away on my first wear. The only thing "designer" about this is the relatively mass appealing approach; the rest is no compromise.
It is a fantastic line, unfortunately, not for me. I own homme intense, and i do not reach out for it at all. My girlfriend loves it and the 50 ml bottle is almost empty.
@ i mean i dont even have signature scent, every day wearing different stuff. Today went with ambre sultan, 4 hours longevity on my skin with no projection. Re applied 2x already 😂😂😂. Yea all those powdery fragrances come so feminine on my skin unfortunately
There is nothing versatile about this fragrance. It’s a beast and should only be worn on cooler day and special occasion. And it’s definitely not linear.
Obviously everything is relative, from a person who wears Interlude 53 to work, this is versatile :D This is also true regarding linearity, compared to other stuff, this is stable and predictable, a very good thing in this case! But hey, I totally respect your opinion.

A confident scent indeed. One of my favs on a woman too. 👌
I definitely think it’s 100% unisex, the name would be a turnoff for unknowing women for sure
This is my favorite ...the initial Iris fragrances - beware, they switched to a new Dior homme, for my exasperation, to come back to the original one....for the Eau de toilette, to get the Iris one, choose the 'original' label . Best regards, Razvan 👍
Thanks for the info :)
Where can i purchase this in the US
@@alexisq6541 no idea man, people are saying eBay
I have this one and I got a back up bottle. It's hard to get in the US. It's available for a short period of time, then goes missing for months. I got mine from Canada.
But why is this? I feel it's popular enough to justify demand, I don't understand...
@@SeldomlyOftenthat's a great question! On the US website you can't get Dior Homme parfum, intense or 2020. It's weird. I don't know what they're doing. Also I can't find it at any American department stores.
It's readily available on eBay.
@@richardbaptist5080 Jomashop for 180
Great review.
It is truly a shame that Dior doesn’t distribute this here, I hope that changes someday!
@ definitely… Im not gonna lie I have sprayed this before bed because of how comforting it smells 😂
I love wearing DH I & P; they're so versatile and unisex, and best of all, I get great longevity.
Dior Hoome pafume and Creed Avantus both are 👑
I never really felt a connection with Aventus, not really my thing.
I have a video coming out where I test Aventus Absolu 😉
I find the intense too sweet for me. Is the parfum drier?
I agree, Dior Hommer would indeed be a better name🤭
LMAO
Amazing, I'm going to have my bottle customized :)
Hey Daniel how much did you pay?
@@FantasticScents think it was 135 but I also had a 20% discount for reserving at the duty free website
@SeldomlyOften wow that's an incredible price, I paid like $155 for mine at discounters. Good to know, great review
I have the original formula it’s almost macerated to an extrait, this scent is very sensitive to humidity in relation to the wear experience
Dior homme parfum has never been reformulated. So there is no original formula. The 100ml and the 75ml are the same fragrance!
Agreed, it becomes sweeter and muskier the hotter/more humid it gets, very powdery and leathery in cold weather
I agree this could be very humidity sensitive, I like in a very dry, fresh place, that's why it could be a year round wear for me.
I bought 100ml for $160 from fragrancelord here in USA.
That’s above retail here but since you can’t find it I guess it’s good!
No shame in loving some designer , crowd pleasers .
I’m a huge fan of many!
Absolutely not! It's just a fact that most designers play it very safe, this is not a case for all. I love my Antaeus and my Guilty Absolute :D
Glad you agree.
As a female who hasn’t in the past paid any attention to male marketed fragrances .
I’m going to give this Dior a sniff soon 😀
The old Dior Homme intense was a masterpiece, the new one is just a shadow of what it was. You can smell similar vibes with Grand Soir of MFK
@@MrLanarana Grand Soir similar to the old Dior Homme??? Wow 🤯
@@SeldomlyOften Maybe he meant Grand Soir is a shadow of what it was ( Absolue Pour le Soir)
Yeah, no.
75ml and 100ml have same formula code. No reformulation has ever taking place with the Parfum.
I have both. Despite the formula code being the same they are different. The 100ml has more leather. 75ml is more iris.
@spainy202 not true. I have multiple bottles of both. They are the same. Any differences are likely just due to age.
Thanks for the info, I can only speak for this one, I never smelled the 75ml.
If you could smell the old doir Homme Intense
Yeah, I've heard it's incredible, rich, gourmand. Is the "original" similar?
@SeldomlyOften the original Doir Homme Intense yes
Smells like an old leather make up bag. Probably the rose. Still classy and rich.
Is that a good or bad thing?
@SeldomlyOften depends on ones mood a suppose.
One of the most quality designer fragrances ever made. It's absolutely insane the quality, depth and complexity that they've put into this one.
100% agree, I was blown away on my first wear. The only thing "designer" about this is the relatively mass appealing approach; the rest is no compromise.
This perfume smells like the back of stage of a Victoria Secret runway show
Never been but I can't say that doesn't smell like something I would like to experience :D
This smells more like the obligatory post-show pillow fight I'm assuming happens after every VS production
@ 😂😂😂
Sweaty?
This is a fragrance you can't even buy in Australia. Not on Dior Australia's website or any major retailers.
It is a shame that some countries don't have access to this one, hopefully that changes.
It is a fantastic line, unfortunately, not for me. I own homme intense, and i do not reach out for it at all. My girlfriend loves it and the 50 ml bottle is almost empty.
@@Principemostprincipe you really have to like those powdery notes, I like it but it’s not going to become my signature or anything like that.
@ i mean i dont even have signature scent, every day wearing different stuff. Today went with ambre sultan, 4 hours longevity on my skin with no projection. Re applied 2x already 😂😂😂. Yea all those powdery fragrances come so feminine on my skin unfortunately
Bought yesterday
I will end up broke
@@DavideV101 dude, tell me about it 😂
There is nothing versatile about this fragrance. It’s a beast and should only be worn on cooler day and special occasion. And it’s definitely not linear.
Gotta love how scents speak to everyone differently
Obviously everything is relative, from a person who wears Interlude 53 to work, this is versatile :D
This is also true regarding linearity, compared to other stuff, this is stable and predictable, a very good thing in this case!
But hey, I totally respect your opinion.
Nah fuck that, I'm wearing this in the office
I love wearing this one on summer nights, a true compliment getter!
I live on Kauai and I can wear this all year. During the summer months I wear it at night and the winter months anytime
