She's holding a large bucket _full of tasty treates,_ something other bonobos could jump them to get at. So she has to be on guard. And assisting her colleague at the same time. Furthermore, if you know anything about Bonobos: we humans can get them sick really, really easily. So it's quite possible that _only one_ of them is allowed direct physical contact.
