Wow Kat. I have had a few deaths in the family, had a bad marriage breakdown but struggled afterwards. I think you're book is one that might help me out. Congratulations pulling through past incredibly tough times. You are not just a pretty face. Bless you from Australia
This is also exactly what Ricky Gervais said on many occasions and on his specials. And how truly empowering for women from FOX to give that same platform to her. She deserves this success and earned it. Very funny she is! And yes, we need to keep those connections open even while suffering. I wish her the all the best for the future but one can see, she already is on an amazing path. Mainly, of course, because she has decided not to censor herself and to share her feelings and remain honest and real. That’s an amazing strength. Good to see that she has a platform at FOX but also good to see that she’s believed in. When one tells the truth, it’s impossible to ignore it. After all the pain, she clearly realised it’s better to laugh and continue than to cry and hide.

That can be true. It can also be quite cruel. Not everyone deals with grief the same way. She obviously deals with it her own way. And I wonder exactly how healthy she is as a person. I also wonder at what point she, as a comedian, becomes funny.
It was 5 years ago that my Dad died with me and Mom in the room with him. He stopped breathing but I felt a very slight fluttering heartbeat until he took one last breath and passed away. We both felt a burst of sadness followed by a calmness - we could both tell that he was at peace. His mouth was left open so I tried to close it but it wouldn't stay closed so I used my ventriloquist voice and said "Hey, I'm not dead yet!" and Mom burst into laughter. Dad would have approved.

I had a cousin ask how my dad was about fours years after he died. I said, "About the same." So he asked, Is he still drinking." I said "oh, no." He said, "Well, that's good isn't it?" I responded with, "Well, not really." My cousin was looking rather puzzled, obviously not knowing what to say next, when my brother hearing everything said, "Mark, he's dead." I still laugh when I think about the look on his face. Good cousins are so hard to find.
