I saw Cradle of Filth at a small venue in San Francisco in the late 2000s. They put on a killer show. Great sound mixing, lots of crowd work, and everyone was moshing. It was definitely more energetic.
I also have a ticket for their show next week and hope to see them in better light. The last time I’ve seen Cradle was in October 2022 at the O2 in London. The show was great. They have promoted afterparty weeks before their gig and that they’ll be there. Alas, nobody from them appeared. Their merchandise is a bit more expensive than any other bands…Seen CoF many times and I’m still looking forward for one more time.
My brother saw Cradle of Filth at Ozzfest once, and he said he temporarily lost his hearing while they were playing. He started to hear a ringing in his ears, and then absolutely nothing. But his hearing came back eventually.
Yes with two Czechs there in the band they could have gotten the crowd go mad, just 1-2 minutes and we would all have been eating from their hands... weird that they did nothing.
@@metalandrockzoneso you are icelander living in Czechia? Why did you move? Iceland sounds like the most metal place to live. OK no bands come but theres Skalmöld 😅
Yes I just met a guy who was at the same gig as me but was right at the front, he said the same. So there is something I guess in their presets or setup that makes it bad which is a pity as this band is really good. Thanks for watching.
I saw them in cincinnati in 2022 and 23. First time it was impressively loud. Second time it was exactly how this is described. Muffled. It sounded like something was wrong. They need to fire the sound guy.
One more credit for your channel because you express your opinion as it is, honestly and directly. This type of review it’s not very often in Greek channels. They prefer ( well, not generally but mostly) the good comments..
As a casual CoF enjoyer I enjoyed the show, although in the beginning I found the sound kinda lacking and I agree that Wednesday 13 were much better with the horrible crowd.
Yes crowds here have a tendency to be dull but on the other hand with two czechs in the band I sort of thought it would be different this time around. Thanks for watching.
I saw them on the 28th of February in Bucharest, Romania, and soundwise there was something off, indeed. For me, the drums and the bass were way too loud and I could barely hear the guitars and keyboards. I was standing pretty much in the front of the stage ( I think the 10th row from the stage) and yes, the sound was a little bit muffled. It probably has to do with both their sound guy and his pre-settings and with the actual acoustics of the venue. I don't know whether bands, when they tour, come equipped with their own speakers and monitors, but something needs to be done on that front. Interstingly, Wednesday 13 sounded a bit better, in my estimation. In Bucharest, the crowd was pretty much energetic and there were no incidents between Dani and people in the audience. There are clips on youtube filmed with I- phones and they sound way better. I think I will use earphones next time. Maybe my ears are too sensitive, who knows?
Usually the engineers get some information about the equipment there and then use the sound checks to get it right. You are sort of describing the same thing as what happened there in Plzen so I think that they might just be travelling with the wrong presets or they just want this sound. Thanks for watching.
Cradle was best when Paul Allender was in the band! Paul Allender wrote the music on the albums he played on. As much as I like Dani Filth in Devilment, Cradle is not even close to being as great as they were without the FANTASTIC PAUL ALLENDER!!!!
I saw them a few months back in Milwaukee, and it was kinda meh. The place was half empty, which surprised me for a band that's been around as long as they have. And the set list favored their newer material, skipping lots of their classics from older albums, so a lot of the songs didn't get a big reaction from most of the crowd.
I like Cradle and have seen them quite a few times over the past 25+ years, but, sadly, their shows have often been disappointing. Last time I saw them in 2015 and I thought they were surprisingly good: good atmosphere, good interaction, band motivated and working well together (the latter not always having been the case).
Thing is, CoF just doesnt work live. Thats the reason. Their music is just too overwhelming to handle. Be it the sound guy who has to do his job, be it the crowd who has to find a rythm or a chorus to bang along.
Their drummer is not very good live. He plays to a click track and triggers his bass drums live. The rest of the kit is acoustic, it leads to a weird mix.
This is a shame. I saw them in New York when they played all of Cruelty and the crowd was going fucking insane (myself included). It had a great sound as well. At least you got a great setlist!

saw them in Montreal and both them an the sound was great!
Yes I am getting mixed signals here in the comments, they seem to be either very on or very off these guys. Thanks for watching.
@@metalandrockzone i remember not been sure i wanted to go as i saw many bad comments... maybe i was just lucky...

Yes maybe this one that I saw was just a one off, sometimes it happens. Thanks for watching.
Never seen them live, but I’ve always wanted to. Thanks for the review.
Thanks for watching!

Well here their merch was similar price as others I think. Thanks for watching
First band i saw live and they were great
Nice, where was that?
@metalandrockzone in Philadelphia at the trocadero they played with 69 eyes who I got to meet which was awesome.
I have a ticket for this tour in two weeks! Hopefully it will be a livelier.
I am sure it will be, this must have been a one off. Enjoy and thanks for watching.
My brother saw Cradle of Filth at Ozzfest once, and he said he temporarily lost his hearing while they were playing. He started to hear a ringing in his ears, and then absolutely nothing. But his hearing came back eventually.
Yes this was not the case there last Saturday for sure unfortunately! Thanks for watching.
Just Dani's lyrics are worth it!
I mean it is a kick ass band, great songs etc. just was totally off there somehow
I was there.. I was shocked that guitarist and drummer (both czech) say nothing to the crowd.. made no hype etc.. but Dani was good
Yes with two Czechs there in the band they could have gotten the crowd go mad, just 1-2 minutes and we would all have been eating from their hands... weird that they did nothing.
You are lucky to witness those shows: no band would ever come to my country.
A lot come through here, i wasn't always this lucky, I was born in iceland and NOBODY goes there!
@@metalandrockzoneso you are icelander living in Czechia? Why did you move? Iceland sounds like the most metal place to live. OK no bands come but theres Skalmöld 😅
Iceland is very small, Dark and like a village, I moved to Prague 15 years ago, and I don't regret it. Skálmöld are here in 2 weeks in Prague 🤘
I saw them 2 days ago in Bratislava, had the same negative experience regarding muffled sound, it sounded like they played behind the wall

I miss the old line up from the 90's

It was then similar to here, apart from it was sold out here but very bland atmo, well and the setlist here was fine. thanks for watching

Yes, in some of the songs I got a feeling, they were trying to push through too many sounds at the same time thanks for watching
Why do metal bands often look so stupid from far away but when you are there its awesome?
Well I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder! Thanks for watching
I have seen Cradle of Filth twice. Both gigs sucked and after the second horrible gig i saw of them, i sold all my cradle albums.
Ok that is a statement, selling the albums! damn... Thanks for watching
Sadly Cradle has never been good live...
Well that is a pity as their music is so good.
Their drummer is not very good live. He plays to a click track and triggers his bass drums live. The rest of the kit is acoustic, it leads to a weird mix.
Interesting, I had no idea but this makes sense not that you say it. The drum sound was very strange there. Thanks for watchiing

Yes and maybe this was just a one off bad night, I hope to see them again. Thanks for watching.
