Someone under bid the job to get it. Get a big ass crane, torch the roof off over the gantry cranes and then crane the gantrys out with the big crane.

They would’ve been shut down in 3 minutes flat here in the U.S. lol. Still awesome though.

No masks? And they're using random bits of cable off the ground as high-tension lines??? Jesus, its a good thing the UK has free health care, these guys are going to need it!

They have all got masks on these days and the NHS might kill them with the dreaded cv19.

Saving around 50 year old cranes and installing them somwhere else is both VERY EXPENCIVE AND A WASTE OF TIME, BECOUSE MODERN EQIPMENT IS WAY BETTER AND LAST LONGER.
So in total its better to reuse the metal and build new cranes.

Nice destruction, but on the other hand.. what a waste. Such overhead crane costs 100.000’s of euros/dollars/pounds

They can probably scrap it for even more that what it is worth, the crane is more than 30 years old and I bet most of the inner workings are completely ruined from people breaking in and stealing important bits.

yes, but you have to find someone who wants to buy it.. and then it still needs to be disassembled, transported, restored & upgraded to modern safety standards.. good luck :)

As a Crane Inspector and Fabricator I say what a waste. I have reinstalled several old cranes in new buildings. The bridge is the part you want to save. Very easy to lengthen or shorten. The trolley and hoists are easy to replace. Put new drive motors and remote controls on it and its good as new. Inspected and load tested a 5 ton bridge that was installed in 1939 and recently upgraded to modern drives and controls. Still used the original hoist, trolley and bridge drive motors. Passed with no issues.

Everyone has an accent but this makes you aware of how different they can be. I could not understand a word that foreman was saying. I am sure he is a nice person but i could not work for him because of the language barrier. I am a yank. Midwestern U.S.
