People are gonna simp. Just look at the comment sections on videos where people try to explain away shady things hasbro (they're not the only offender, just an example) does. I'm not saying that's what's happening in this video either, don't get me wrong. I think he makes a very good point that...even messed up, which isn't ideal, the value is higher than what he'd get back.
That sucks about your sentinel man! I say use an xacto knife for the red paint on the sentinel. Be very careful, but I remember when I got my 12” black suit spidey, I did that for a black dot on his eyes and it worked perfectly. Best of luck!
Congrats on the Beetle, bro. I've had him forever, super tight figure. Really miss the Toy Biz Spider-Man classics series. Edit: as long as the battery cavity isn't covered with battery acid and the electronics aren't buggered for some other reason, you ought to be good getting his lights working

That is a shame about the Sentinel, man. It’s weird that they couldn’t just send you a new box. The weight would be nothing when it came to shipping. I’m an out of box collector but I save the boxes myself and that would have me crazy, lol

Hey David, I'm sorry to hear about the Sentinel box and paint app issue. When it's a $350 USD figure and they only make a limited number they need to have better quality control. Period. Unfortunately, I missed out on the Sentinel as I wasn't collecting then. I ordered one at aftermarket prices but the seller cancelled on me. It was after then I read about the knee issue. I have a 4 year old son. And if I'm spending that much money on a toy I want to know we can play with it for years to come. I'm going to inquire with Hasbro if they are going to use the same knee on Galactus. To me, toys are useless if they can't be played with and enjoyed as intended.
You have the right idea my friend. It doesn't matter that it's a collectors piece. It still needs to be durable. Hopefully lessons have been learned for Galactus!

Thanks man I will absolutely keep pushing the Patreon. The first year of this channel was made during lock down while stuck at home with nothing to do and no where to go. Now I work 40 hours a week, study 15 and need to find time to go to the gym, eat, sleep and maintain a relationship with a girlfriend you’d better believe I’m going to do what I can to get compensated for my work.
I'll fully agree that it sucks that your Sentinel box was messed up, but knowing the size of those things......I dunno, maybe one less reason to keep it around isn't the worst thing ever. I've never fully settled on what I think about damaged packaging in terms of reviewing a product. In theory you're just buying the thing, and the box is just a way to get the thing safely to you.....unless you're buying from somewhere like BBTS, where they have a specific option to buy stuff in mint packaging. But....I get the opposite argument too. I dunno. I guess I can only agree that it sucks, but not whether or not I think this was a mistake on the part of Hasbro or anyone else, or whether this was just the box fulfilling its purpose... 🤷♂️ The smudge on the Sentinel head....now THAT'S stupid. THAT'S someone fucking up. Hopefully it DOES just easily come off somehow. 😕
I hear you bud. Although I'd say packaging is way more than just a means of transport. Hasbro even made a whole point of 'revealing' the packaging and showing off how pretty the art work was. It's definitely a part of the over all product. I'll see if I can communicate with Hasbro and get some type of remedy. It's an interesting experiment.

I also don't feel that i've missed out, but I skipped Galactus for the same reason as I did the sentinel, I just don't trust Hasbro to deliver on something I'm paying that much for. I'm glad that people that do are mostly happy with what they got, but I do wonder how they'll hold up.
I truly sympathize with David. When I purchase a figure through eBay, Amazon, or whomever. I hope that figure has neither imperfections nor QC issues....NONE. I want it to be perfect. But there is no guarantee it won't. I can only check out the figure thoroughly if I buy it at a retail or comics&collectibles shop. I'm sorry that the Sentinel box had a tear on it and it had a blemish in it as well. But it does look great still along with the tier figures also. Am I right? Of course I am. Reach out to Hasbro/Hasbro Pulse/Haslab and let them know what issues you are dealing with it and concerns you may have. They'll probably kick it to their Global Customer Care team for a resolution and put you on a list of people who have Sentinel knee issues to address, etc. Would also let them know of any concerns you may have about Galactus. As always do so in a respectful and calm manner but let them know if your product is defective or have real concerns; otherwise they'll say they never heard anything and assume that their customers are satisfied.

Toy biz Beetle is great along with Captain Carter brother!! Don’t use acetone on that face plate if it’s painted. It’ll remove the paint blemish but add a worse one.

Your sentiment is totally understandable. I didn't get the Sentinel because they aren't my main X baddies but now I'm worried about my Galactus purchase. These are EXPENSIVE premium figures equivalent to a Hot Toys due to your cost. Hasbro needs to respect that and make sure to properly package their products. Hasbro has been losing a lot of my business to Mattel and off brand or unusual toys because I'm tired of their exclusives, their preorders selling out and their price continuing to climb for less quality product. Didn't Zavvi offer damage allowance? I've had a few crushed toy boxes as their packing is awful and they usually give 10/15% off. Also are you up to date on symbiotes? Scream has mixed with anti Venom and become Silence! We need her and Agony in a future wave!

Are you able to take a hobby knife and carefully scrape off the red paint? I don't know what the finish is on his face, but I know i've gotten way too many legends figures I've had to do that with.

Man you really must have been bummed out you didn’t even talk about the master mold head or the damaged head, I would have went right to the source,I know it’s not the same price point comparison, but pulse sent me the black suited Xavier but the box looked liked they dropped it in the river then just said fuck it and shipped on to me the brown box was wet and the packaging was ruined it wasn’t wrapped in plastic or paper I took pictures wrote a letter to them and they sent me a new one and told me I could donate or give the damaged one to charity, write to Hasbro tell them your situation and what you want a replacement or a replacement box they have them they made more than they say you have to replace damage or broken ones and this may qualify it’s not going to hurt to try, also there motto is fan first. And that beetle is sweet I got two of them , thinking about the Krig
I 100% disagree with what u said about the What If? fight scenes because in my opinion, the best superhero fight scene is Spider-Man vs Green Goblin in Sam Raimi's Spider-Man because it is so gritty and raw and you feel like there's actually something at stake there lol
Funnily enough with Mezco I think I might actually prefer the ones I’m not familiar with. There’s no preconceived notion as to how they should look. I just judge them on their unique designs.

Didn't Zavvi offer damage allowance? I've had a few crushed toy boxes as their packing is awful and they usually give 10/15% off.

Are you able to take a hobby knife and carefully scrape off the red paint? I don't know what the finish is on his face, but I know i've gotten way too many legends figures I've had to do that with.

Man you really must have been bummed out you didn’t even talk about the master mold head or the damaged head, I would have went right to the source,I know it’s not the same price point comparison, but pulse sent me the black suited Xavier but the box looked liked they dropped it in the river then just said fuck it and shipped on to me the brown box was wet and the packaging was ruined it wasn’t wrapped in plastic or paper I took pictures wrote a letter to them and they sent me a new one and told me I could donate or give the damaged one to charity, write to Hasbro tell them your situation and what you want a replacement or a replacement box they have them they made more than they say you have to replace damage or broken ones and this may qualify it’s not going to hurt to try, also there motto is fan first. And that beetle is sweet I got two of them , thinking about the Krig

I 100% disagree with what u said about the What If? fight scenes because in my opinion, the best superhero fight scene is Spider-Man vs Green Goblin in Sam Raimi's Spider-Man because it is so gritty and raw and you feel like there's actually something at stake there lol

Funnily enough with Mezco I think I might actually prefer the ones I’m not familiar with. There’s no preconceived notion as to how they should look. I just judge them on their unique designs.
