I’m guessing people will still rip on NL, but genuinely, NL would have won A20 with that deck if he had drawn one of the 2 skewers. The second run was actually top tier
If he added a crap ton of defends (namely backflips) in act 3 maybe.
Double boss is always a mountain to climb.
"Would have won...if he had drawn X" See the issue with that statement? How often did he lose because he didn't draw that one card that he needed? Quite often. I'm impressed he actually removed some cards today, yet he still had too many basic cards, and no draw. It doesn't matter if he had a chance to win with a card if he can't reliably draw that card.

I know you love offense vs floor 1 elites, but lack of blocks vs the guardian's gonna get you killed just about every time :/
Edit: that upgraded acrobatics would've been really nice for that last run, paying 1 to dig 4 deep for a chance at skewer or terror on dead turns would be quite useful, especially considering how powerful it was with necro. Draw in general is super helpful for making sure you have what you need when you need it, and when you're at 4 energy Acrobatics is very playable.

I was mad you didn't take pen nib. Pen nib + Necronomicon + Skewer is 240 damage on a vulnerable enemy when you have 4 energy, and with 5 0 cost attacks + Skewer in your opening hand, you can make it happen SO often (even if only for the 160, which is still enough to ice most enemies)
Not to mention Ninja Scroll accelerates Pen Nib by 3 for free guaranteed at the start of every combat if need be
I did mention that? :P I said he had 5 free attacks in his opening hand? :P

he bought an extra backstab instead of pen nib, saving pen nib for that skewer turn on the boss might have give him the win, im mad
The problem wasn't him buying backstab, it was the caltrops. He could have had the backstab + pen nib
I beat Silent A20 while watching this. 4x Infinite Blades and an Afterimage, plus birdface, fan, shuriken, pen nib, branch and 5 energy. Not what I expected to finally work on A20 but man what a hilarious build. Innate powers heal you for 10 at the start of combat, then the shivs give you block and strength every turn and carry the rest of the fight.

Tools of the Trade/Sneaky Strike is really good. I replaced all of my strikes with dagger throws and sneaky strikes. Got unceasing top. Lets me cycle through most of my deck easy w/ free 10 damage attacks all around
29 minutes eh? This PROOOBABLY isn't win. Still hope it's a fun episode!

Stop letting the debuf gremlin live while you kill the flat 11 damage goblin you were fully blocked for. It costed you way more offense + defense the next turn.
I don't even watch the videos anymore. I just look at the run time and then go to the comments and I'm never disappointed.
that last draw really ripped a pepperoni like Tony
imo the only problem with the skewer deck was that your deck was too thick. You should have paid 75 to remove a card at that event, and you didn't really need the caltrops.
Other than that it really had potential, nice try.

For me Heel Hook and Masterful Stab are too high variance to be good cards.
ive had decks with lots of weak conditioning to have healhook as a freedamage cycle hard, is v good
TwiCaCaX the problem is you have to build a bad deck to get to a point where heelhook is acceptable.

what i dont understand is when he chooses health over alot of things like, card upgrades. To me, maybe because ive played HS alot. Tempo, cycle is very important. And your life total is just part of the resources. Doesnt matter that you ahve full health if your deck is always trash. I know HS is alot diff than Spire but concept is similar. You wanna do the most with your mana. Maybe its because im still very new, so i dont have too much trouble with health, either i die right away or i win the fight. 6 more health id not gonna matter when the attack is 26 x 2.

With a win condition that revolves around a single card (Skewer), Acrobatics might have been a great pickup right before the boss!

How i beat a20 is by deck refining and 1 elite, after the first boss, than go hunting because the silent in the early game is trash compared to the defect or the ironclad
