This is a really tough matchup for Sephiroth. His medium-range options (where Sephiroth lives) are all outranged by Min Min and she wins the up close battle as well.
Also one thing the commentators didn't realize and very smart by proto: That move isn't that strong most of the time. It's just that the dragon arm (only the one she can't change) gets powered up after a throw for a few seconds. This affects all attacks it does, including its tilts, smashes, its nair and its tether punch. It's strong enough that tether punch which is usually weak becomes a good kill option off the top. Proto knew it was worth the risk since he had just thrown sephiroth and the arm was powered up.
Dude. What Ned did there WAS dope. Last game proto 0 to death'd him and Ned still brought it back to even. His neutral game was insane. In the end he just couldn't keep up with Proto's ridiculous punish game, but I don't think that's much of a shame against the player who beat Leo. Twice.
@@MrTNT49 My comment was not to disparage Ned’s excellent play here. Ned did very well, especially considering the fact that, as you said, Proto beat Leo twice this tourney. By dope, I meant like super hype Seph advantage state
@@MuNiqab top 8 is where it really matters tho, switching characters to cover mus is something a lot of players do these days Leo uses Corrin/Byleth/Aegis, Sparg0 has used Cloud/Aegis, and those are good characters In any case, Sephiroth winning all of top 8 is still more than what over half of the characters can say, and as far DLC, Banjo and Hero haven’t done it either
Just bad matchup tbh. Sephiroth does great against a lot of characters especially offline he’s much better. But he has bad frame data and doesn’t play well up close, where min min has twice his range, faster moves and even if her moves aren’t the fastest for the range they have it’s crazy. That’s why proto struggled alot against to win MKs Rob. He was smothering proto

All the recent experience Proto collected against KEN's Seth also didnt help Ned.
Min Min just kinda wrecks swordies.
6:21 Absolutely insane edgeguard from Proto

@@Fandresvc Charged Dragon is almost as powerful as mega watt. I love it.
6:20 omg.
I like how Min Min has better ranged options, AND better close ranged options
And worse mobility, worse recovery, no counter or projectile
Has a reflector and arms are basically projectiles lol
@@nathanlevesque7812 imo I think they're mobility is equal
Unless Sephiroth has wing
@@jjbathemeextensions8866 Sephiroth has high ground speed and fall speed. Min Min is just slow all around.

Ned is so good. His Sephiroth is so aggresive, fast and clean. But props to proto, guy is insane at this game
6:23 NOW I know why Japan hates Min-Min...
and her best player is japanese.
I was really hoping for some dope Sephiroth gameplay from Ned but Proto’s Min Min is just so oppressive lol
Min min is very difficult for sephdog. I wasn't expecting too much considering proto is her pilot.

Gets washed two games in a row: yeah this is a good stage -_-
Minmin borderline top tier.

This matchup is ass. Good job Ned
Sephiroth character type doesnt make any sense. He is too light and smash 4 Frame data. Ned done his Best. Worst dlc Charakter
Sephiroth has won a major (bobc4)
That’s more than banjo or hero can say
