Hello! Shoutout to the folks who originally posted this in subtle cantonese traits -- I'm glad the subs have helped with #learncanto! As an Aussie with Chinese heritage I hope to keep a working knowledge of Canto in the years to come.
This is my first (hobby) translation project :) It's also my first attempt at using Aegisub to time subtitles, having input them natively on TH-cam for my previous transcription projects, but I need to tweak and play with Handbrake a bit more when exporting the video for clearer subs even with standard definition video.
Some phrases don't have a 1:1 translation (like 文藝片, even when Tony himself loosely translates it as "drama") - this was what made the exercise so fun :)
I haven't watched MCU films (Spiderman: Into the Spider-verse just barely counts) but I'm keen given Tony's in it! haha
Thank you for the Translation ☺👍
thanks so much for subbing!!!
You did a great job!
Well done on the subs!!! The movie is really great you should definitely watch it! His performance was amazing and with all the other cast.

Good interview. So refreshing to also hear this in Cantonese.
I grew up watching these 2 on tv. and this is by far the most relaxed tony Leung in an interview, a fellow friend eases up the tension i guess.
Just came across this now, thanks so much for putting in the work to translate it! So great being able to hear Tony Leung speak in depth and so comfortably about his experiences in Cantonese.
It's his first language, no dialect coach required! 😂
Thanks so much for this great interview with excellent English subtitles.
My Cantonese improved just by watching this interview
Yup
What a wonderful interview! Thank you so much for the translation. Like someone else said you're doing god's work for us fans.
Great interview with DoDo. She really made him feel comfortable and let his hair down.
This is the interview that we deserved. Love this!
Wish Tony have a healthy and happy life each day 😊
Great proper chat between friends to learn so much about Tony Leung compared to usual generic interview.
I only knew him in Sangchi. But he does sound familiar. His natural speaking voice is well modulated. He is a sophisticated, humble and amazing actor. Wow He is a living legend himself.
Great interview, props to the parents for teaching me Canto in the US.
19:10 omg...Tony works out 2hrs a day, goes out sailing and do water sports each day and ends it with dinner and a movie... then Do Do is like.. that's not that exciting. She must be doing something even more crazy each day.. And maybe us foreigners are just so lazy and boring that going out to buy a burrito is already an adventure.
That name sounds familiar but I don’t recognise the face.
I think she means not much social activities or lots of projects/hobbies sth like that. Btw I think dodo herself do exercises everyday. But nth to do with Hong Kongers, just them being very healthy and sporty lol.
I like how he avoided saying SPOILERS he dies in the movie
For the people who don't know, the woman is also a famous actress in Hong Kong and extremely gorgeous❤
Really my all time most favourite actor Tony Leung. I wish him to have great health and happiness
So we all know now that ACTUALLY, Tony was Stressed and Frustrated while working with Marvel 😂, because this is his first time worked with strangers. With the culture shock and lil' language barrier, i hope he made it out, cause i haven't watched the movie, yet. 😁
Movie is great!! You have to watch it. His acting together with the other cast is amazing 🤩
@@glisteningsnow6627 @glistening snow YES, i will. 👍
Thank you for subbing this interview!!! I wish I knew Cantonese 😭 heard about DoDo interviewing him but thought I'd never learn what they talked about.
Thanks for this! After watching Shang-Chi, I really wanted more of Tony's experience with the film. While there are official interviews with him out there regarding Shang-Chi, it's not as in-depth as this one, with him speaking Cantonese to boot too!
Tony Leung what a legend! Thank you for this, this was a great interview!!
My favorite part is when Dodo said “I wouldn’t exactly call it exciting HAHA” and Tony defended “It’s pretty exciting!” Lol
Can confirm. Seemingly mundane routines can be quite exciting for introverts.
Awesome work~!!! ^^ Thanks for the translations and the subs~!! *^^*
easily one of the best actor mcu ever have. tony leung is a legend.
you can really tell dodo is a great interviewer in this. legendary.
Carol is a classic Lady Virgo😂she practically remebers EVERYTHING👍!She is good as always and Tony is being a good sport and absolutely charismatic🥰!
They are talking about their success. Congratulations Leung Chiu Wai.
Thank you whoever did the translation. You did the Lords work here 😂🙏
Hello tipchutha, can we be friends. Do you speak Chinese ?
Thanks for your support and encouragement ❤️ on my post 🥰
I watched this man in dragon saber when I was young. Always nostalgic to see him fight.
Good job on the translation! Thank you! Keep it up!
A lot of insight into Tony Leung and filming, great interview!
In this interview recall the memory that we grow up together with his TV series of golden time
I think Tony definitely turned into a new leaf : more outspoken and cheerful after this movie, please play more villain if makes you happy & happier !! 🥰
NICE to hear Cantonese !!!! In the movie they were only speaking Mandarin and English
Thank you..
You did a great job uploader.
Thank you for uploading this 🙏🙏🙏
This brings back so many childhood memories when I would watch TVB dramas every weekday evening with my grandma.
Yes!! finally Hong Kong'ers 🙏speaking their native Cantonese and not forced to speak Mandarin by the communist china.
Dodo and Leung Chiu-Wai. You gotta watch TVB's "New Heaven Sword and Dragon Sabre 1986"
