Larry Holmes was always surrounded by good people for the most part, never getting in trouble or drugs or anything like that. At the end of the Norton fight, his team brought him straight to the trainers room on a table to stretch him out. He had just won the world championship and his people you could tell were really looking out for him.
I respect Joe Frazier, but his son didn’t have any business being in that ring with Larry Holmes. Larry had more title defenses than Marvis had fights.
Almost got him killed here too. Here he had all of 10 fights and was thrown in with a dominant champ. Just absurd. It’s like throwing some dude from a DAZN fight night undercard in with Usyk. Like, huh? Why would you do that? What do you think is gonna happen?

I don’t think any version of Larry Holmes would beat a prime Tyson. It was just a bad matchup. Holmes caught hell with Norton and Shavers. Shavers almost killed him. You think he would’ve beaten Mike?

Larry didnt want to hurt him.

IS a good woman.
Why would a 10 - 0 fighter go up against the 44 - 0 champ
If he wasn’t Joe Frazier’s son. This fight would have never happened.
Because Larry was taking on people he knew he could beat trying to overtake Marciano's 49-0 mark.
Professional boxing makes no sense.
He had the Frazier name. Joe rushed him to the title shot

Too much too soon Marvis,
Larry was one of the all time great heavy weights.

Larry was always well measured. Sized Marvis up for the right, and that was it. Total mismatch. Holmes right hand always underestimated.
Marvis Frazier was very good as an amateur but not as a professional. It could beat subpar or aging professionals but not much more than that.

10-0. A joke. It was a joke 40 years ago on network television. You can see immediately the difference between a champion and a club fighter.
Clearly Marvin father made this happen , which imo should of never happened.
Marvis had no business in the ring with Larry Holmes.
Larry Holmes was a much better man than Cassius Clay/Muhammad Ali. Lived entirely different lives. Respected Holmes not Clay/Ali.
