Yes! Been running the Super Tarp for about 2 years now. Great tarp. I have had it out in some nasty weather, rain, snow, wind and hail. I use a bit of shock cord on some of the loops to give it some flex, which has worked well. Cheers 🤝
Hey Wooli, Thanks for sharing. Yes, HELIKON has good stuff. This camo is called: PenCott WildWood, it´s actually not digital. It´s the HELIKON version of Penncott Greenzone. It´s about the brand name of the pattern....
@@RedBranchBushcraft both greenzone and wildwood (wildwood being a mix between greenzone and badlands) are very different to the "surpat" russia is using. pencott is combining both digital and conventional camo. imho it thus works better for combining the best of both worlds... i also own the windrunner from helikon (wildwood on nylno-material, making it look like greenzone for the brown not "prominent enough" on the print), coverd my ruck ones with it, and checked it out right at the tree-line next to a field. 15 meter away and without knowing where i left the ruck, i wouldn't have seen it...
I recently got the Helikon Supertarp small in US Woodland as I wanted a really compact light setup for day camps. I have been really impressed with its tiny packed size but it is still a decent size for 1. Really like it but will see how durable it is long term. Wish they would produce one in flecktarn which is superb for the UK.
3 by 3 - isn't that a bit small for you since that 5 x 5? (also helikon produces in poland i thought?) i have one of these - actually prefer it over the DD-tarp (but the DD being a bit bigger and "feels sturdier"... It's camo (wildwood) is great for summer, same for the tarp. didn't had it in heavy rain, but for normal weather it's suitable. automn and spring though (falling leaves aso) i prefer the DDs. just for them being more on the sturdier side (also the MC-camo fits better in spring/automn)... oh: and the "outside mashbag" is GREAT, especially after use when the tarp is still moist. just keep it outside and everything that needs to stay dry inside the rucksack. they did good with that bag...
I wonder if any company makes a camo tarp with 3D foliage pieces yet? Like having a DD Camo Tarp, but the entire tarp speckled with attached material which would flap in the wind similar to leaves on a bush. Either that or I'd love to see what happens when you put a hunters blind die-cut material camo like "Moss Oak Brand" on top of a tarp to add texture to it for stealth. Would it be effective or would the extra material cause condensation issues between the two fabrics?
Hey friend think I'm gonna finally pick up one of those ultra fabric tarps from my hammock soon (10x12) 14oz. I'll let u know how it goes. Great video Wooly!
my issue would be as it's such a thing material. carrying on the outside of my bug out bag/rucksack is. if it's raining it's going to get very wet so when you put it up the waterproof side of it will already be compromised meaning unless you can dry it out it's going to leak straight away

Agreed, flecktarn would be amazing
How big is the small? I get confused with the antiquated metric system. 😆 but serious. Thanks
Another great video Wooly! The Penncot Wildwood is soooooo goooood ♥💯

She's witty.
Lol
Stihl frosty.
Good man Bud
But is it lightweight? 😂
compared to a 3x3 from DD: YES. the helikon is much lighter. (also the material a bit thinner, tbh)
Lol, weighs a tonne
A fair bit thinner
Designed in Poland....can't use Russian gas thus made in China.....I miss affordable energy. Cool tarp though.
Very cool
