The most amazing Thing that I see during chimera ants' arc is the changing of cast . Togashi-sensei creates gon like a human and kid that becames a monster (against pitou) ,and Meruem was created to be a monster turns a human because his relationship with komugi. Also gyro was a humanidade and becames a monster.

Your voice is beautiful. I never really liked this song until I heard you singing it. I just find it unfair that Mereum had to die. So many characters have been given a second chance, like Killua, so why not Mereum?!?! He had the potential to save the world. It's not fair! They can't just kill him like that, not after he was finally changing!
The world was never fair, neither ours nor theirs. The whole point of the Kimera Ants arc was to make us attached to creatures that were originally presented as horrifying monsters, kinda like how the York Shin City arc made us have sympathy for the Phantom Troupe. So it's not just Meruem, all the characters had a chance to change. Some did, some didn't but could have, some lived, some died. That's Hunter X Hunter. At least Meruem died at his happiest.
