I will and explain it through two scenarios. Scenario 1: If the lift from the opponent has good length, then it should be covered by the base player. The net player stays at the net. Scenario 2: If the base player has started moving forward in the rotation, because of the lift perhaps is too short and the opponent manages to play it to the backhand baseline, then that should be covered by the net player as that person has started its movement to the other side of the cort.
