I agree! Also I like smaller collections because they represent yourself better than the bigger ones and you tend to appreciate every game in your collection more if your collection is smaller.
What I dislike about game room tours: they too often feel like wealth flexing that's tacky at best. What I like about game room tours: they often tickle the parts of my brain that deeply appreciate good interior design/aesthetics; they often serve as an interesting peek into the mind of their respective owner. Most noteworthy thing I've seen in a game room tour video: someone had REALLY FREAKING COOL, gigantic, Super Famicom replica carts AS THE STAIRS LEADING DOWN INTO THEIR FANCY RICH PERSON GAME ROOM/DUNGEON. SO NEAT!! I'm sure they weren't cheap to design and build, but they looked soooo cool!!
I like game room tours to get ideas of how to display my own stuff. I’m guessing RB doesn’t want to show the whole game room because one corner of the room is just a giant pile of banana peels 🍌
Me personally, I just like seeing what other people's favorites are, how they collect, the sharing of memories, etc. Often times I'm more interested in small game room tours to see what people do with their limited space.
For me, personally; the reason I enjoy seeing game room collections; is because growing up, literally no one had anything like it. So, to see such a thing as adult; is just somewhere in the realm of the fantastical.
Well I mean, people want to see other game collections because I mean... games just look so cool when put together in such an awesome room. Plus it helps people know what games they're missing if they're planning to collect every game on the systems they own.
I only watch to see a new game you've never played before & they tell you a story about why they love it so much. Then you got yourself a new quest in your never ending search of Retro Games! That is why I watch TH-cam Videos to find out more about games that appeal to me & not so much about other peoples collection. Take this video by RB. As he was playing Comix Zone & I was like oh yeah, I loved that game back in the day. Now I need to play it again. Put that game on my list. Thanks RB for the Bird Seeds that are leading me to my next adventure!
I love your channel! Like Scott the Woz meets nerdy dad in the best way possible. Super unique, really funny, and with so much humility I can feel proud of what I have rather than ashamed of what I don’t
Analogue produced them for a number of years and stopped in 2015 I think? I remember being tempted for the longest time back then and finally decided to save up and then order one. They stopped making them shortly after, so I got in there just in time. I have a feeling they'll revisit the Neo Geo with a FPGA version of it at some point.
I don't care about how many or even what games people have, I just want to see how they present it and organise their collection! Sometimes when you have more than 1000 games it's fun to see the creative ways people fill a space
I couldn't care less about people showing off their 12000 games in a giant game room tour. it's the smaller, more specific collections I really appreciate and like to see. You see big youtubers showing off thousands of games, but I'd much rather see a cool display case or shelf organized to show off a specific series or something.
Game Room tours are awesome. I watch them a lot for the stories and and see how diverse or eclectic they can be. Also sometimes the accoutrements are also awesome too. Whatever toys, signage, arcade sticks, 3D printed stands, pictures, artwork and so on. Sometimes the people with full collections can have daunting and unfortunate videos because they aren't well set up and not look as pretty. If people set it up in a bad way, it just comes off as hoarding. But when it's done well it just looks magical. Conversation over games is always fun!
I definitely look to see those amazing and not-so-amazing game rooms, because everyone's collection is personal and starts somewhere... and that's what matters. Just love what you got.
I always look forward to your videos like I do for AVGN and ScottTheWoz. I think you'll bloom to that level of popularity someday too! If that's your goal, I hope you reach it!
Thank you for the encouragement! Always looking to grow the channel, while never forgetting to appreciate the wonderful folks (like yourself) who are already here :)
Part of the appeal of any sort of collection tour, in my opinion, is the virtual window shopping aspect. Seeing what the person has and going, "I'd like to try that game", "oh, I haven't heard of that one", "yea, that's a nice one" is rather enjoying.
Wow, I gotta admit I really did think you had a massive collection based off these video and how you presented your games. In fact, I even said to myself "I can't wait til my humble 1200 game collection is as big as his one day!" Just goes to show the magic of editing!
I like game room tours. One reason is of course to see how other people organize their game rooms so that I can get ideas for storing my collection, another reason is because I don't have a dedicated game room so it's fun to imagine what having a dedicated room in my house for it would be like. Over here in Japan space is kind of a premium so I instead have a game closet. I worked really hard to plan and set everything up in a way that I could maximize my space while also ensuring that everything was stored in a way that was optimal, easy to access and would protect labels etc. Maybe I should do a game closet tour 😅
I'd totally watch a game closet tour, especially if you've put that much thought into it! In my mind, it's not a "collection" without the pruning and the tough decisions.
Cool vid and sick dance moves man. I like game room tours mainly to see how other games have set up their spaces in terms of game storage, console setups, and other interesting extra items like those neon signs you have. Seeing what games that may be in the collection is cool too, plus extra cool points if there's lots of Sega stuff. I know it doesn't really matter, but watching the game room tours also makes me wonder how my collection stacks up? All that said, it's just fun. Now I'm not going to ask you to do a room tour, but it would be really cool to hear the story behind that Analogue Neo Geo, you're the first person I've actually seen w/one. Well enough rambling, oh yeah...I hope you qnd your family had a great Thanksgiving.
TH-cam recommended another video of yours. Nice collection man, size shouldn’t matter. As long as you’re happy with the games. Can I come over and play Shining Force 3 with you? lol
I have seen a TON of game room tours. That being said, I can't stand watching them anymore. I watched this one because I knew you probably wouldn't. Almost all tours come off like pretentious bragging. I don't buy my games to impress anyone else. No one but my immediate family has ever seen my collection, and it will stay that way. I enjoy your channel, Bird. Thanks for doing what you do.
I feel that in some cases since retro games are worth quite a bit of money now its sort of like "bling" for nerds (myself included) in the sense people don't see games just dollar signs 🤑 This is obviously not the only reason actually when I first visit a friends house the first thing I do is take a gander at their games,CDs, and videos just to see what kind of stuff they are into and it usually strikes up a good conversation and the same kind of thing happens in the comment section here on TH-cam because.... I mean... Its fun! "Bruh Max Payne 2 was goated 😲"
I always like seeing the things people have in their collections that AREN'T games... like a lot of people have toys or other gaming-related doodads that sit on top of their shelves or maybe fill in some of the open spaces. I like that extra flair.
I like the game room tours if they have some kind of storage idea I've not seen before and could be useful. Example, I really like Disk Cart's channel as he highlights a lot of shelving and display ideas.
that's WAY more games than I've got, but good on you, I'm working on mine. Remember the golden rule Collect games you want to play, and will happily replay
The thing that jumped out to me the most in a game room tour was this small shelf mounted to the wall that held gameboy games showing the front of their cartridge while they were leaned to the wall. It had a big gameboy logo decal on it!
Looks like you're is all killer no filler though. I can tell you care for every one of them and that, in a lot of ways is more awesome than a hoard of every possible game a gamer can get in my opinion.
I personally like seeing these tours because it gives me inspiration. I'm planning on moving out of my parent's place soon and seeing other people's collections is giving me ideas on how I would want to organize my own room.
2:02 You made me think of something I’d never thought of before, but I’ve seen listings on eBay for empty game boxes/cases. Makes me wonder how many TH-camrs have purchased empty cases to load on a shelf for the backdrop of their videos when they don’t actually even have the games at all. Just food for thought.
I like seeing people's collections (be it for games, toys, whatever) because as you said at one point, it gives me ideas on how to potentially display my own collections. And I also just love seeing people show off things they're clearly passionate about, it's fun.
I love watching Game Room Tours because of the many video games and consoles they show. I also like how they have everything set up on their shelf while displaying them too. You get to see if you want those games that they show.
I like game room tours because they give me ideas to things to buy to improve mine. Not games, but stands, organizers, methods for having a functional gaming setup.... things like that. I saw once a video where someone made a retro-cart , where he put a small crt and matching consoles ( Genesis and SNES ) on, ready to play! Useless to say, I fully replicated it ( with Genesis, Snes and PS1, ready for some light gun games too! ) , and I'm playing these games even more, given the cart can be stored away and pulled out at convenience. It's amazing for small spaces where you need to put aside old stuff to makes space for new stuff. Now I'm just waiting for my dust covers from PrinterBoy to arrive :D
I've watched a few in my time, but I think I'm less interested these days. It can be good to see how others approach things like multiple video inputs, cable management or console storage, but I'm rarely excited to see which physical games someone else has.
I think the point of having pride in your collection is how you display it. You don’t need to show it to everyone, but if you have a ton of games you should take care of them, and if you collect them you typically want them easy to access so you can play them. I’d like to house my collection in a extra closet or inside a large credenza or other piece of furniture that I could enclose. However right now I have them all on a shelf, stacked.
I’m married with two young kids so My game room tour would be me going through different bins in my laundry room and closets. I have all of my games hidden in different places around the house.
As an architecture student I just enjoy looking at cool interior designs for other people's gaming room, and yes, I do enjoy looking at other people's toilet lol.
I have a channel as you could guess about Nintendo and about 10% of my game collection is Sega Genesis Games. The only Sega Game that I really want is Rocket Knight Adventure. I don't even play the console a lot but even then I really want it.
I like seeing the creativity that gamers come up with when trying display games. It gets me inspired and I can sometimes think of ways to adapt certain ideas I see to my game room.
I'm always fascinated with the obscure or homemade ideas. I don't need to see another white IKEA shelf filled with N64 games. Give me a crochet Bob-omb sitting on an Action Max any day of the week. I recently saw a gameroom with Amiibo on plastic makeup stands and now I'm looking for tier stands for my Disney Infinity figures and some calculator stands to potentially display some consoles at an angle.
I think it's like an insight into their personality. Come on Bird' you know if you saw a "Rocket Knight Adventures" displayed prominently in a game room you would think to yourself, "you and me can get along"
For me game room tours are interesting to see any potential rarities/oddities both games and related pieces. And yeah, how each of us organizes our collections is a form of expression so it's cool to see how individual collectors do that.
When it comes to my soon-to-be large collection, I don’t have any plans to display it. Simply owning a library of games is enough for me! (Edit: Of course I’ll store the games in a place where they won’t be damaged lol)
I just like to see how people setup their retro stuff. Like what furniture they use, how it’s setup. Could really care less about what games they have. My setup is in my bedroom so I’m always looking for new ideas to maximize space. Fitting a 55” OLED and a crt is a challenge. I should probably just get rid of my bed and sleep on a bean bag chair.
I absolutely agree with you. I've considered just getting a hide-a-bed couch and being done with it. I don't really NEED a bed like I need space, just somewhere to sleep.
I look at game room tours for inspiration on how to display my own collection. I think my collection is similar to yours. I have a lot of games, but it's modest compared to the collections shown off prominently on social media. My own personal collection is purely for myself, and the only people I show it to are friends and family with the intention of inviting them to pick out something to play together. I want my game room to be a gathering place for the people close to me.
I just like seeing how people decorate it gives me ideas, I also like seeing the weird stuff I discovered what a vectrex was from a game room tour and just had to have one
I love game room tours! More because of the devices and the accessories than the games they have.. I discovered a lot of weird accessories that exist in gaming thanks to room tours.. Something like the dreamcast keyboard or the SNES mouse I enjoy them a lot!
I actually enjoy seeing how people organised their stuff. Personally, having not much space in my room but having "a lot" of games makes them all stack inside a shelf. Doesn't look too pretty and feels quite bloated but on the flip side I know it's plenty and it's mostly stuff I enjoy playing.
Game room tours always make me a bit jealous. I mainly collect consoles, I have just about all of them. Even the obscure stuff, like the Panasonic Q and Neo Geo CDZ. But I really need to start building up my game library.
I've had people in my game room, which has over 300 games displayed and they think "is that all" well, the other 300+ are in plastic bins in my side pantry-type-closet thing in my PC center built in. I mean too many shelves and such just means more games to dust. Loose carts are fine in the cabinet.
I don't mind game room tours, but honestly would prefer just regular ppl level. Like show me your small collection/setup that you have "maturely" integrated into your house/apartment rather than all these crazy packed rooms that are way out of reach for ppl's space or budget. Give me ideas for how I can be a "responsible" adult but still have some fun retro games set up in my place. Dedicated game room? You guys can afford an EXTRA room? I need realistic game setup ideas for those of us who live in some of the most expensive cities in the world. Lol. I have a huge arcade cabinet in my Vancouver condo living room. I need ideas for making this seem subtle and classy. :P
I like game room tours for the display ideas. I don’t have a game room yet so my space I have to work w is tight and quite full at the moment. So I’m always looking for ideas to work w in my space. I have seen people influenced by them as well especially w the younger collectors.
I'm not really into game room tours, but I do like to see what others collect. I don't try to compare my collection versus theirs. I genuinely get the nostalgia meter going when I see a game in that collection I've wanted or previously owned. I do wish I could display my games though. I have boxes and crates filled with games that I would love to see in neat rows again.
Game room tours are a good way to learn of the existence of some games. They can also determine what kind of games the person in question likes or how they play them. For example: Anyone who's beaten Rayman 1 has an ungodly amount of patience and my eternal respect. (because it took me somewhere between 500 and 2,000 deaths to beat it) Or they're just a huge Rayman fan. Either way, that's a good sign.
My Game Room is essentially just that. One tiny room filled with posters, figures, movies and games. It's a nice place to go to and relax after a long day. I like to check out Game Room tours that are one room like mine, to see how it's all organized.
A while back I saw a video on TH-cam and they had this special cartridge, and I just had to own a copy! So......... I wrote Timmy across the front of mine!!😂
6:24 very true. as a kid, my perception of a collection was being able to choose between which of the three games i had to play. also they were 3 completely different genres so i basically was overwhelmed by the variety at the time
As a ps1/n64 collector, most people have what I have in my collection, I only collect games I enjoyed as a kid or wanted as a kid. So I've got small and pretty common set of games. My pride and joys are my japanese copies of Legend of Dragoon, FFVII, FFVIII & FFIX
i think the most interesting thing is seeing what hardware people use since nowadays there are so many options whether its different displays or different versions of consoles
My personal collection pieces i love the most are things that left me with something afterwards other than another piece of plastic to add to the shelf to "complete" it. Like my grey Gameboy Advanced SP I played since we had one DS and I am the little brother. I accidentally left it in the window sill of my family's mini van where it was then half melted. It still works and i am never getting rid of it.
This is my new favourite channel! You are hilarious. My kids sing the outro running around the house. You are putting into perspective all the things I think about when it comes to collecting in a very insightful way. Someone else that loves Rocket Knight Adventures! I picked up RNA and Caslevania Bloodlines CIB at a Salvation Army for a dollar 9 years ago and didn’t know what they were. My best find!
Thank you for sharing a bit more of your game room. I can understand why you wouldn't want to do a full on game room tour. There is definitely something personal about them. I think that's why I appreciate them even if it's just a pic of a shelf of 20 games. It's humbling and can spark an idea. Your Nintendo neon light made me go "I want one of those for my future N64 display." Also, tried the Rocket Knight 2016 game. It's fun and I'll now be seeking to play the original. 😎🤘🎮
After years of the complete Console Collections, I've really grown more found of smaller collection. If you have every SNES and PS1 game, that's cool, but if you have 40 games total, but can go on a 40 minute talk about Dragon Quest 7, that's interesting, I want to see that.
Thanks for another great video! I personally like game room tours, but only when the gamer doesn't have like 3000 games, because they end up making an hour long video where half the games are modern games. I don't judge games by how old they are, but in my experience about 95% of modern games are, to me, much less enjoyable than most 80s and 90s games. I'd also like to say that I'm very glad your subscribers are growing at a steady pace, I subscribed at about 8k and have only been seeing good things for your channel, keep it up!
*gestures towards two CRTs with a MiSTer FPGA nestled between them and console specific controllers underneath* “Alright, tour’s over. Let’s play a game.”
We don't. Content creators are just lazy dragons guarding their loot. Secretly, we just want to impale them with an enchanted lance and take it all - in Minecraft.
I really like to see things like what shelves people used and how they display their gameboy games. I learned about universal game cases for n64 games and took the idea for my own games
I think a curated collection that's presented well shows and with energy shows a level of respect for those games that resonates with me. I take a lot of pride in my game room and the way it's set up, and I've come up with several outside the box ideas to maximize the space while being clean and crisp. One of the things I did was modify a shoe rack into a suspended shelf (hung from the ceiling with aircraft cable) to display SNES games in those Nintendo branded retail spring loaded trays that department stores use. The other thing I'm really happy with was to create a retail shelf with boxed SNES consoles, controllers, and the like, and a monitor inset into the top shelf space that displays old video game commercials on loop. Creativity, passion, and story telling are why I enjoy game room tours. Some feel phoned in and lack passion (usually also apparent by a lack of care in the display and cleanliness department), but there are plenty out there where the passion for this great hobby shines through.
I don't really care about room tours, but it can be nice to see someones collection as a person who doesn't really care about collecting. Sure, I have some physical games, but more important to me is the physical hardware and then an Everdrive. It takes up so much less space and allows me to play everything I want, without spending crazy amounts of money on a collection and needing a place to store it all, dust it, etc. More important are the games themselves. The cartridges are neat to have and look at, but I care about the data, not the plastic.
For me it simple I know as a collector how hard it is to get a huge room filled with stuff, nostalgia, and we’ll just thinking about how much money each thing is worth
So many comments now so no idea what everybody has commented. But I feel that we all got a dream of having a game room similar to a video game store. Most of us will never get such room of our own but it's still a dream. The reason why most of us will never have that big gaming room with so many games and consoles and related stuff is that we live kind of small, maybe an apartment with too few rooms. So that means that our video games and consoles will share the space with books, DVDs and much more in the living room. Maybe we can have an entire shelf or two with only video games but not an entire room so full that we wish we have an even bigger room or additional rooms to fit even more games. So NEXT thing about these game room... are these people still collectors or turned into hoarders? When you have a snaller collection the chance that you really LOVE each game is so much bigger. When you have that giant game room and thousands of games, do you really really LOVE each game crazy much? I believe that it's about the satisfaction of having "complete collections" and it hurts to miss some games so you really want to add also that "black sheep" (the unwnated game) just to make the collection complete. A good example of this is Zelda collectors that also wanna collect the CD-i Zelda games. So that's my thought's about "what's the deal with game rooms". Personally I just buy games that I feel that I wanna play and seems like fun to play. I've also bought one extra copy for a very very few games because I hope for an increasing value by time. For example I bought 2 copies of Super Mario 3D All Stars, because that game got taken down, as promised, from eShop so I feel that this complilation might have a good value in the future so one copy to play and one sealed copy (bought on sale) as either backup or investment. I got all my games right now in storage boxes. It's around 30 games for Switch, 25 for 3DS and 20-25 for Wii. Plus the Mini consoles. It's not a huge collection. But I'm happy with it and proud! I also got a few Game & Watch that stands out. So that old Super Mario for Game & Watch, and I don't talk about the 35th anniversary Game & Watch. When I see these videos about the "biggest game rooms" I often feel that I don't like it. Because it gives me such hoarding vibes no matter how organized it is. I prefer the smaller collections with more personal and cozy vibes! Quality over quantity in other words. And the good thing about these smaller collections: you can actually PLAY these games, not just some games but ALL games. I remember a game "room" tour with a very unique focus: I think it was only the Harvest Moon games. All games from that series. And that's all his games! 5-10 games or more than 10? Can't remember. There's this kind of collectors as well. I respect all game collections. But when I get these "hoarding vibes" it feels so sad. My latest addition is Mega Man Wily Wars (for Genesis) that is the physical re-release. Just got it a few days ago after 6 months of waiting. I don't have a Genesis but I have Genesis Mini with the "digital" copy, so this physical re-release gives me the manual and much more! And I'm a big Mega Man fan and that's why I bought Genesis Mini so I can play the Genesis versions of Mega Man 1-3. My own game collection is strictly for myself but if someone like my collection that would be a nice bonus :)
I like the room tours to get ideas for my game room, I'm kinda done with buying more retro games. Collecting was fun when you scored games cheap at flea markets or blind bulk boxes from eBay. Now it's cost prohibited so now I just want ideas to setup my room
I mostly watch game room tours for decorating ideas for my future game room when I get a house. Also, solid Dreamcast collection! I'm an avid Dreamcast fan and you got a great collection!
I enjoy gameroom tour it is very cool to see the displays and other collections, as for my collection it is more curated to games I enjoy or find interesting that I didn't get to experience on release.
Great discussion. I never took the game room tour as bragging but I guess I was looking more to see the overall design and feel of the space. Maybe get a fresh idea. Anyone that has watched ours knows that’s what we go for. Scott and I are all about the creative aspects and showing you something we made ourselves :) Also I’m a big yes for the dancing gameroom tour! Can’t wait until I get the notification for that one 😜
Games Played: Comix Zone (0:01), Super Ghouls 'n Ghosts (0:10), Sonic 2 (0:19), Mario Power Tennis (0:40), Dodonpachi (2:30).
2:15 here for rocket knight
Worth re-watching 1:10 - 1:27 in .25x 😅!
BTW, I like this idea: 8:56
@The Darius Truxton Show pics or never seen
@The Darius Truxton Show that’s why u got 1 subscriber

Quality over quantity. Don't let others define how many or which games you must own.
This! My Gamecube, and NES collections will never go past 50 games, because I just want to own the best of the best. No filler!
I agree! Also I like smaller collections because they represent yourself better than the bigger ones and you tend to appreciate every game in your collection more if your collection is smaller.
YOU KNOW WHAT? I'm Satisfyied with My NES and one game (being Super Mario Bros/Duck Hunt) lmao
What about quality AND quantity?
What I dislike about game room tours: they too often feel like wealth flexing that's tacky at best.
What I like about game room tours: they often tickle the parts of my brain that deeply appreciate good interior design/aesthetics; they often serve as an interesting peek into the mind of their respective owner.

I like game room tours to get ideas of how to display my own stuff.
I’m guessing RB doesn’t want to show the whole game room because one corner of the room is just a giant pile of banana peels 🍌
I can't ever keep too many peels in all at once. I gotta rotate them out pretty regularly.
Me personally, I just like seeing what other people's favorites are, how they collect, the sharing of memories, etc. Often times I'm more interested in small game room tours to see what people do with their limited space.

Holy crap, I've never seen a collector with a wooden Analogue Neo Geo before. Cheers, that's a nice showpiece.
Agreed. I paused the vid on that.
Respect your Aunt and her Norman Rockwell plate collection.

@@RetroBirdGaming Yessir agreed! Haha! It can all too easily go south 😂
Seeing how someone is able to organize there game room and possibly getting ideas from it is why I enjoy them! Like HGTV but for game rooms.
I definitely look to see those amazing and not-so-amazing game rooms, because everyone's collection is personal and starts somewhere... and that's what matters. Just love what you got.

Wow, I gotta admit I really did think you had a massive collection based off these video and how you presented your games. In fact, I even said to myself "I can't wait til my humble 1200 game collection is as big as his one day!"
Just goes to show the magic of editing!
Haha your collection is about 4x more games than mine :)
I like game room tours. One reason is of course to see how other people organize their game rooms so that I can get ideas for storing my collection, another reason is because I don't have a dedicated game room so it's fun to imagine what having a dedicated room in my house for it would be like.
Thank you! You as well!
I can imagine the Retro Bird outro song having Bird dance around with his games as a music video
Can't deny it's basically already happened off camera.
@@RetroBirdGaming still waiting for it to happen on camera.
Thought for sure you were going to say "A game shelf, a game nook, or a game... SACK".
Yeah, not far off from Game Stash. What I wanted to do was a game stache, as in mustache. But, I couldn't figure out a way to do it :(
TH-cam recommended another video of yours. Nice collection man, size shouldn’t matter. As long as you’re happy with the games. Can I come over and play Shining Force 3 with you? lol
Emulation dude: I have 40,000 ROMs. This is what the outside of my hard drive looks like.
Thank you Dave!
I feel that in some cases since retro games are worth quite a bit of money now its sort of like "bling" for nerds (myself included) in the sense people don't see games just dollar signs 🤑
This is obviously not the only reason actually when I first visit a friends house the first thing I do is take a gander at their games,CDs, and videos just to see what kind of stuff they are into and it usually strikes up a good conversation and the same kind of thing happens in the comment section here on TH-cam because.... I mean... Its fun!
"Bruh Max Payne 2 was goated 😲"
I always like seeing the things people have in their collections that AREN'T games... like a lot of people have toys or other gaming-related doodads that sit on top of their shelves or maybe fill in some of the open spaces. I like that extra flair.
I have a few super soakers in my room that I love having around. I use them in the spring/summer as well.
I like the game room tours if they have some kind of storage idea I've not seen before and could be useful. Example, I really like Disk Cart's channel as he highlights a lot of shelving and display ideas.
Nice toilet!
Part of it is ideas, part of it is just for that cozy feeling seeing a neon light color and carpet gives me.
that's WAY more games than I've got, but good on you, I'm working on mine. Remember the golden rule
Collect games you want to play, and will happily replay
Yeah, having games you'll enjoy replaying is my favorite!
Thank you for the compliment!
Don't pop-up his ego that's what he wants
I’ve around 250 games from all consoles. I don’t have game room or shelf so I put all of them in cardboard boxes.
Room tours let me see if there are any games that I want for myself and I love seeing how people organize their stuff.
I personally like seeing these tours because it gives me inspiration. I'm planning on moving out of my parent's place soon and seeing other people's collections is giving me ideas on how I would want to organize my own room.
Im usually more interested in the practical side than aesthetic. But I do recognize coolness

You made me think of something I’d never thought of before, but I’ve seen listings on eBay for empty game boxes/cases. Makes me wonder how many TH-camrs have purchased empty cases to load on a shelf for the backdrop of their videos when they don’t actually even have the games at all.
Just food for thought.
Hahah that would be quite the desperation! I would like to hope that's not very common :)
I like game room tours because someone will often show off a game I've never heard of and it makes me want to try it out for myself
It gives me a breath of fresh air to know that I've got a good game collection. The trick is how to play it all before I die
I like video game collections because it sometimes gives an idea of a Video game you might have missed playing.
1.7k views so far and no dislikes hope it stays that way :)
I look for games people don't mention by scanning game tours.
It's a great method for finding new targets for MY collection.
Ahhh, I like where you're coming from here.
I like game rooms cause it gives me ideas on how to display my collection, and it helps gives me ideas on what games I should look into getting
Note to self: show Rocket Knight Adventures in my game room tour video to get subs
I think it's like an insight into their personality. Come on Bird' you know if you saw a "Rocket Knight Adventures" displayed prominently in a game room you would think to yourself, "you and me can get along"
Absolutely!
I don't have a very big collection because when you're in a small apartment is not possible so I only get games that's catches my eye
Something like the dreamcast keyboard or the SNES mouse
I enjoy them a lot!
Oh man! Decathlete is so great! That's an amazing deep cut from the Saturn. Great for cottage parties.
Game room tours are a good way to learn of the existence of some games.
They can also determine what kind of games the person in question likes or how they play them.
For example: Anyone who's beaten Rayman 1 has an ungodly amount of patience and my eternal respect. (because it took me somewhere between 500 and 2,000 deaths to beat it)
Or they're just a huge Rayman fan.
Amazing find and glad to hear your kids enjoy the song!
Thank you for sharing a bit more of your game room. I can understand why you wouldn't want to do a full on game room tour. There is definitely something personal about them. I think that's why I appreciate them even if it's just a pic of a shelf of 20 games. It's humbling and can spark an idea. Your Nintendo neon light made me go "I want one of those for my future N64 display."
Also, tried the Rocket Knight 2016 game. It's fun and I'll now be seeking to play the original. 😎🤘🎮
I enjoy seeing what people create out of nothing , it got me into it aswell and it's a hobby I really enjoy ! Collecting is very injoyable!
I recently sold my game collection. I only kept my arcade 1ups. To be honest I feel relieved
I got minimal space… my stuff is all shoved in a corner. The best damn corner in my home if you ask me.
*gestures towards two CRTs with a MiSTer FPGA nestled between them and console specific controllers underneath*
“Alright, tour’s over.
I love watching game room tours and game collections lol
I'm 2 blocks north of Detroit. I don't like advertising things I have. Someone climbed under my car the other night and cut the hitch assembly off it.
I mostly watch game room tours for decorating ideas for my future game room when I get a house. Also, solid Dreamcast collection! I'm an avid Dreamcast fan and you got a great collection!
You’ve got the Ori games, aye? Good choice 😂
I enjoy gameroom tour it is very cool to see the displays and other collections, as for my collection it is more curated to games I enjoy or find interesting that I didn't get to experience on release.
You wanna see a good game room made in a closet?! I know a guy 🤣🤣🤣
I like that guy!
Great discussion. I never took the game room tour as bragging but I guess I was looking more to see the overall design and feel of the space. Maybe get a fresh idea. Anyone that has watched ours knows that’s what we go for. Scott and I are all about the creative aspects and showing you something we made ourselves :)
Also I’m a big yes for the dancing gameroom tour! Can’t wait until I get the notification for that one 😜
Hey, I noticed that your channel showed up in the shot where I'm scrolling through game room tour videos!
