Missed opportunity: Mario Kart SNES and Mario Kart 8 share 2 stages. Donut Planes and Rainbow Road. You could have used these stages to make direct comparisons.
i think deus ex 1 is one of the games that cant be remastered :/ the dark color of this game is something special i´ve never seen in a game but i dont know really why... its cold dark and just a color but it felt real it was fitting perfectly to the atmosphere and the game itself.
I just replayed the entire series a few weeks ago, and I absolutely agree. Revision is great for what it is, but I'd rather have a graphical overhaul of the base game. I'd say Invisible War as well, though I know there are fans that realllly don't like that game.
@@Slappaccino Oddly enough, Invisible War is my favourite Deus Ex game. The engine it was built on it just great IMO. It doesnt have the depth of the first game, but something about it just makes me love it. Although I cant imagine we'd see a remaster of Invisible War any time soon.
@@SirCarl_XVIII I actually share that opinion. I'd say that the first game is objectively better, though much more clunky, but Invisible War has always been my favorite and still is today. The appearance changes to JC were a little jarring at first, though.
Elite vs elite dangerous is insane. What we see in terms of graphics, sound, control and pretty much everything is beyond incredible. The cool part is the game itself is very relatable and even the same ships and space stations exist in both. Its nuts!
I see where you're coming from. For me, the Halo vibes come from the UI and a bit from the graphical style. Those blues in the UI give off major Halo: Combat Evolved vibes.

I don't think that's really a fair comparison, the two games are unrelated other than that Lego is involved. That said, Lego Island or Creator to Lego Worlds would be a cool comparison.
recently I played through all the Uncharted games (1-4 + 1-3 remastered) and the increase in graphics is absolutely amazing, even the jump from Uncharted 1 to Uncharted 2 is VERY noticeable. I grew up with these games and played them all the time in the living room and the wave of nostalgia is awesome.
Midtown madness was a game that I fell in love with. I had surgery that year and was stuck in a wheelchair for the next few months. My dad offered to rent a game for me that week and I asked for Midnight Club. He kind of forgot....and brought home Midtown Madness 3 by mistake. I thanked him but I was a bit disappointed because I was really in to modding cars in games. But then I played it and it was 1000 times more fun than Midnight Club

I'm not ganna say games got me thru it but they gave me an escape that gave me a few hours each day I wasnt worried about my meds or dying to be morbid. That all said I think games get us thru a lot from terminal illnesses to day to day anxiety.

Surprised you didn't compare the only game to still be going 15 years later - World of Warcraft. WoW has went through huge changes since it's release, and it would be interesting to compare then and now.
I remember playing the first Ghost Recon game when it was new. It blew my mind that Halo CE came out around the same time and looked lightyears better. To this day, I’ll argue that Halo CE is one of the most impressive Xbox original games
Wow, a top 10 list channel that actually puts effort into the videos? That's crazy. There's a real script, read by the creator with feeling and not by a computer or one of the couple voice actors that read for hundreds of channels. I'm truly impressed.
I have been a gamer since 1990-ISH, and i have seen the upgrades done with every game system from the 8, 16 and 32 bit era of the NES, SNES, Sega Genesis (or Master System if your in the UK or Australia) and the Jaguar to the the 64 bits of the N64, from the Dreamcast to the PS4 and the Original Xbox to Xbox One. And one thing that has ALWAYS amazed me is the amount of progress made to technology and games in that VERY short amount of time. I mean in less then 25 years they have went from game sprites made of pure polygons and using tricks and illusions to make things look 3 dimensional, to some of the most high fidelity, realistic looking people in games ever and being able to ACTUALLY create 3 dimensional worlds to put them in. So yeah, i would say that is definitely an achievement.
Nemesis uncharted 4 has a lot more saturation and reflection while RDR2 looks a little dark and has less reflections and it is very detailed as well and I looks like the real world due to that darkness. Uncharted 4 was still beautiful tho
I used to watch my Dad play Ghost Recon 2, both the urban and the arctic version, on the original Xbox. And seeing Wildlands now really got me stunned on the advancement in graphics. Sadly I wasn't able to experience GR2 cause I was pretty young and was more into Need For Speed MW 2005 than FPS's, and mainly because I was pretty afraid to play it
My favorite franchise is Grand Theft Auto, and being that I was born in 1992, yes I was around during the entire like the franchise. But I jumped into it on Grand Theft Auto 3 in 2001. Side note, I would really love to see a SOCOM Navy Seals reboot. I think the headset commands were really ahead of their time, and to see something like that implemented and either this generation of consoles or the next would be amazing.

One of the biggest graphical leaps for me is the original God of War to the God of War reboot. GoW1 is not a bad looking game, looks alright for a PS2 game. But damn, GoW4 even on base PS4 on my small 720p TV is phenomenal looking.
Not sure if you touched on it before but i remember when splinter cell came out, i got it with the original xbox and it was instantly one of my favourite games. But then where you could plan your shots in splinter cell blacklist and it went cinematic, i remember thinking how much the series had come on, graphically
One of the most favorite game I ever played when I was young was Flashback on SNES and in recent years they did a update to a 2.5 D version which is great but I think it lost some of the real elements that the original had

I haven't watched the first two videos yet, but having been gaming since the Atari 2600 came out so I enjoyed the comparisons in this one. That said, it was distracting when you kept pointing out that - of course - the newer games look better. Obviously they do, for all of the reasons you state. But, again, that's obvious and doesn't have to be repeated again and again. It's the core point of the video, isn't it? If you can find a series where the latest game looks worse (or essentially the same as you discussed on a couple fo these) that's worth pointing out.

Infamous 1 and Infamous 2 After I played infamous 2 I decided to play the first one again, and I couldn't stop looking at Coles head, I never realized how bald it was before then
One game that is getting a soft reboot in the next few months is "Race Driver GRID" from 2007. The difference, of course, is only 12 years have passed since the original. Even today, GRID (on PC) still looks like a game from 2013, for example. GRID's (2019) graphics will have more nuances (better lighting, higher textures, etc.), because the devs decided to concentrate more on racing AI than graphical fidelity. They want to address the rubber banding AI often found in racing games (including the original GRID), and make it more organic and less robotic. So, sometimes, radical graphic improvements aren't needed when other areas are being improved upon to bring the game to more modern hardware and audience.
I remember when the first gran turismo game was released. My first thought was “this is the best looking game ever! Is this real video?” Now you look back at it, it hurts your eyes. Compare it to any recent racing game, gt sport, forza, etc... you can see how much has advanced in that time.
Should have compared FFX to FFXV since FFX was the major jump in graphics that showcased PS2 era vs PS1 era. Even though replaying the HD remake shows how much more graphics have improved, at the time. It felt revolutionary to play as a kid in terms of graphics especially the pre-rendered scenes.

Mario 64 has aged beautifully I personally think, not just the graphics the design and control are amazing and I would love a switch port. Even in its original form I would pay for it again on switch without any changes. And then some games are shocking by today's world, I recently played rainbow six on playstation classic and that games controls are utterly crap and the graphics and gameplay are so so so bad .

If Square Enix were smart, they would release a complete graphical remaster of Deus Ex 1, while not touching a single element of the gameplay.

If you look at the graphics of GT4 on component cables, that game still holds up today and could even pass for a PS3 game.
In fact, the car models were so high quality that they were used in GT5.

I loved the Punching and kicking on 'Mario 64. I would love a remake of 'Mario 64.
Syphon Filter vs Syphon Filter: The Omega Strain was a big leap considering the jump in graphics and AI was about 4 years.

One game that is getting a soft reboot in the next few months is "Race Driver GRID" from 2007. The difference, of course, is only 12 years have passed since the original. Even today, GRID (on PC) still looks like a game from 2013, for example. GRID's (2019) graphics will have more nuances (better lighting, higher textures, etc.), because the devs decided to concentrate more on racing AI than graphical fidelity. They want to address the rubber banding AI often found in racing games (including the original GRID), and make it more organic and less robotic. So, sometimes, radical graphic improvements aren't needed when other areas are being improved upon to bring the game to more modern hardware and audience.

I remember when the first gran turismo game was released. My first thought was “this is the best looking game ever! Is this real video?” Now you look back at it, it hurts your eyes. Compare it to any recent racing game, gt sport, forza, etc... you can see how much has advanced in that time.

Should have compared FFX to FFXV since FFX was the major jump in graphics that showcased PS2 era vs PS1 era. Even though replaying the HD remake shows how much more graphics have improved, at the time. It felt revolutionary to play as a kid in terms of graphics especially the pre-rendered scenes.

Mario 64 has aged beautifully I personally think, not just the graphics the design and control are amazing and I would love a switch port. Even in its original form I would pay for it again on switch without any changes. And then some games are shocking by today's world, I recently played rainbow six on playstation classic and that games controls are utterly crap and the graphics and gameplay are so so so bad .
