Thanks a lot. I don't remember being sad when I made that; I struggle with my voice a lot, and that day was particularly bad. Probably something to do with allergies, based on the date I posted it. That said, I have definitely gotten choked up while playing that song! The line where he tells her it isn't her business anyway sometimes gets me. It's like he realizes he might have said too much when she asked if he's okay, so he tells her that in order to withdraw and end the conversation.
Hey, aside from this being a great tutorial for a great song, I think youtube tutorials are a rare instant of human civilization and privateness in an otherwise rapacious, commercial online universe. Online or in real, its hard to find people doing something for free for other people. Thanks so much, watching the tutorial gives me a good feeling. I have not quite learnt the song yet, but I keep on trying. Cheers, Martin
I was reading some of your replies and thought to post again. This is the best tutorial video I have found so far on the internet and I have started to learn this song, you play with a lot of emotion and I read through some of your comments. This song touches my heart a lot and if I have few drinks in my system, it will probably make me cry. During my single days I met a lovely woman one time, became really good friends with her. One day while having few drinks and listening to music, she played this song for us and told me her story of being abused as a child and how he came to become a strong person, this song reminds me of her and her struggles in life. This is a very touching song and lyrics are very deep, even the music touches deep in your soul and its actually very hard to cover it because not everyone of us has the talent to create the special feel. Thank you and God bless you! You are doing a great job! I am encouraged by you
Brother, don't apologize for the voice, fits perfectly with this song. Thank you for sharing, this used to be one of my favourite tunes. Now I can play it.
Awesome job on the song. Been playing since 15, and been wanting to learn this for a while. Reminds me of how I grew up, and turned to a Guitar and Music. You nailed this song. Great job. Keep doing what you love doing. I play anything from Pink Floyd to top 30 Country. And now this. You did an Awesome Job. You da man. 🎸🎶😊
Thanks a lot. I really appreciate it. I am never sure how people will react to a video so your positive feedback to this one is very welcome. I start out with high hopes and enthusiasm, but by the time I actually have something to upload, I'm never sure. Glad you liked it, and thanks again.
i really like the way how you focus on teaching and not to show off...i really think that your intention to teach was felt...and i learned good. thank you.
Great tutorial Tad, I've wanted to learn this for ages and you explained it really well. I never post comments on youtube but just wanted to say thanks.
Thank you very much! =) I was a little confused during the first time watching your tutorial, but it got better in the second time, when I wrote down the tab.
maybe i am just stupid, but i didt get it!? can somebody explain just the fingerpicking? especially the second part?? and he did it faster when he played the ?i think the chorus? ?????
If I had a voice like yours I would try "you" by silvering or bonnie tyler, rod stewart, bruce springsteen bryan adams etc... you rock man... thanks for the video class anyway
Hi ted thank you so much i appreciate that it very helpful with the guitar luka i am practicing on my guitar so i was born deaf hard of hearing i exetremely intelligent that i pick up the guitar your brilliant on the guitar and dont forget to comment me x
Thank you for a wonderful lesson! I learned the song and posted my own cover of it. Please check it out and tell me what you think :-) So happy I finally found the right chords! xx
It's a tradeoff. If I try to produce a perfect presentation, the process becomes a burden, and I stop and forget all about it; my "Great Idea" joins the thousands of others that never see the light of day. So sometimes I start the camera and sort of pretend I'm showing the song to a friend at a Friday night get-together. The result is going to be far from a slick production, but at least it gets past the "one of these days I'm gonna..." stage. And maybe, just maybe, I wind up with something someone else on this planet might find helpful. If so, job accomplished. Know what I mean? Anyway, thanks for your feedback -- and for your eternal gratitude! (In the immortal words of Carl Spackler, "I've got that going for me, which is nice.")
