Do the Phonak chargers that look identical to the Sennheiser all day clear chargers also work with All day clear hearing aids?

Hello and thank you for the great question.
To be honest, I haven't tried that. But I'm pretty sure that the Phonak charger should work with the Sennheiser All-Day Clear.

      Dave

I'm going to Costco next week for hearing aides. They have the Phillips 9040, Jabra pro 20 and Rexton. Which would you recommend for overall performance in general? My big problem like most people is hearing in noisy environments and after reading Consumer Reports on hearing aides they say that none of the hearing aides tested were very good in noisy environments. Would love your feedback on this. Thanks.

Hi Rich, thank you for your comment.
You're right, having issues with understanding in noisy environments is THE biggest problem when wearing hearing aids.
I'm not too experienced with the Philips devices, but I know the Rexton (Signia) and Jabra (GN ReSound) devices very well, so I'll focus on those.
Both Rextone and Jabra have great hearing technology built-in. As always, the top-tier devices will have more features and options for the hearing professional to program them for your hearing loss. That's also, where the human component comes in - you need a hearing professional who knows what he/she is doing and you should have a good feeling with him/her because you'll work together to get the best settings for you.
That being said, there's one thing I have to mention: these hearing aids, especially the top-tier devices, have lots of features to improve understanding in noisy situations. But these features are hardly noticeable with open-fitted hearing aids (that's the most common way to fit these hearing aids. You get a silicone dome which is very comfortable to wear, but from the technical perspective a closed fitting would get you a better understanding).
Depending on your hearing loss, you're free to try open fitting, but when the understanding in noise will not increase, think about going for a more closed fitting.
Back to Rexton vs. Jabra: I'm more leaning toward the Rexton because I've had better experiences with their rechargeable batteries, their speech-in-noise functions, and their hearing assistant (in the smartphone app). I also like the package with the desktop- and the travel charger, that's a well-rounded offer for me.
Again, the Jabras are really good devices as well and they will also help you, but I'm more pro Rexton.
The ultimate solution would be if they could offer you to test both hearing aids for a few days. Then you could see for yourself which pair sounds better for you.
      Hope that helps!
      Best,
      Dave

How do these Sennheiser's compare to the Jabra Enhance Select 200's?

    • @hearingaids-Dave

Hello and thank you for the great question.
In my opinion the main difference is not so much in the hearing aid features (although there are some differences) but more the set up process and the services provided.
The Jabra Enhance come with a remote service package where individual fitting and handling instructions are made through video calls.
The Sennheiser ADC uses smartphone app to guide the user through the initial fitting. However, they als offer an In-Clinic Care package where the wearer can arrange a 1-1 professional fitting and training session.
Do it depends if you prefer remote or app fitting.
Also, the Jabras only connect to iOS (and some new Android) devices directly, while the Sennheisers also connect to Android devices.
So it’s a matter of taste.
      Hope that helps!
      Best,
      Dave

I just bought the Jabra Enhance Select 200's along with their TV streamer as well. Should have them in 4-5 days. They are replacing my old @2014 Starkey Xino's. I feel, after much research, that the Jabra 'Enhance Select 200' is the best OTC hearing aid out there for a mild/moderate sensorineural hearing loss. I was a hearing aid dispenser in the 2000's for GNResound/Beltone and Mass Audiology.

What reliability and clarity with Android phones? Do they use the Phonak fix for that?

    • @hearingaids-Dave
      @hearingaids-Dave  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

Hi and thank you for your comment. It strongly depends on your Android Phone how the connection works. In general, the hearing aids feature “classic” Bluetooth for streaming and low energy Bluetooth to connect to the app - similar to the Phonak solution.
There’s a pretty huge resource on that topic online, here’s the link: otc.sennheiser-hearing.com/us/en/support/.otc.sennheiser-hearing.com/us/en/support
