- I was so excited to visit the Stamp & Scrapbook Expo in Chantilly VA. Full of energy & creativity, these shows are always a highlight for my crafty year. In this video, I'll walk you through a little bit about the show and a few of my favorite booths. Please check out this show if it comes anywhere near you...it shouldn't be missed!

My friends and I were just discussing how much we hate the fact that the A&C big box stores are focusing mostly on cheap home decor items. Most of us have been forced to shop online, which is OK for some things, but we want to see new to us items in person. I’m sharing the link to the Expo. Maybe we can all meet up there and shop till we drop. 😁
How fun would that be?!?! Yup, there is such a wonderful energy there and it is so much fun to shop in person!

Hi! I was at the same Expo last Friday! (I went last year too.)I bought more at the Faith and Art shop than I intended! I took two Bible journaling classes and the Copic markers class, so I didn’t get as much time to shop, and i missed some of the things you saw. But I bought Scrappy Boy (I fell in love with the Gilligan’s Island line) and 49 and Market rub-ons and some of that Washi tape at the eyelet outlet, and 50% off portable watercolors, etc. was with two friends and we had a blast. Except for when I realized I didn’t have my phone. Fortunately, I remembered where I last had it and someone handed it to those kind shop owners took it to lost and found for me. People who paper craft are such great people!!

I love this virtual shopping experience! Thank you! I haven’t been to a scrapbook show like this but I used to go to quilt expos and I remember how thrilled I was. If I have an opportunity to go to a scrapbook expo I will! You are great here on TH-cam, so glad to see your videos. ❤

I have been to the Chantilly expo every year since 2015. It has become smaller over the years but it still a great place to go to check out new item.
Yes, it definitely has gotten smaller, but I am very happy to still go and support!
I love this!!! 🤩 We used to have Europe’s biggest scrapbook expo here in Stockholm and I miss it so much. It’s so fun to see the deferents and what the similar are in the shops between USA and Sweden/Europe. ❤❤❤

I had never been to one of these before, but now that I’ve seen your walk through, I’m thinking I need to make plans to go next year. My sister lives in Sterling, so maybe she’ll go with me. We’re both retired, so we could go during the week and get there before the huge crowds roll in. And, I may check with you ahead of time so we could perhaps go the same day you do. I’d love to meet you in person. I’m surprised that there are some brands you hadn’t heard of, but I’m glad you know them now. 49 & Market has great papers. I saw Mintay papers on one of the racks. You didn’t mention them, but the quality of their paper is incredible!! I can’t wait to see your haul!!! Thanks for sharing!
Someone else mentioned that I should check out Mintay! Honestly, there are so many companies to keep track of and I don't have the best memory. It'd be fun to bump into each other next year for sure!
@@ScrappyWife, I’ve learned so much from TH-cam watching during the pandemic. There was so much I didn’t know about all the amazing products out there, including tools, machines, paper, and all the different companies and brands. It’s astounding and sometimes overwhelming, and definitely a burden on my credit card! Lol!! Mintay paper might not be your style, but it’s so beautiful and the quality is amazing! Yes, it would be totally cool to run into you at the craft show next year!!
I was there on Saturday! Even though my back was in extreme pain I had to go, it was my first time and I waited months for it. So I grabbed my cane and pain meds and made it with the help of my husband! I loved it!
49 and Market has been a favorite of mine for a while. I spent a lot of money and maybe it's a good thing I was in pain or I would have spent even more! LOL I can't wait to go back next year and they said because attendance was up that there will be 9 more booths next year!

Last June went to visit my sisters in Florida after my eldest sister and my husband passed away.
My sister to keep me busy planned a trip to Orlando and attended Stamp and Scrapbook Expo 2022 even took a Scrapbook Class by Kreative Kreations was Amazing the paper we used was from 49 & Market Ethereal Collection and Layering Embellishments, packages of 49 & Market Flowers so Beautiful.
49 & Market, Simple Stories, PhotoPlay, Stamperia, Faith & Art bought so many Beautiful Scrapbook Papers. Needed to borrow extra luggage for the amount of supplies I bought, to fly home. Kreative Kreations has a Watercolor Daydream Collection plus Die Cut Sheets check them out.

I took my daughter to this show on Saturday! We live 2 hrs away and I hadn’t attended a show in years. My daughter had a blast doing the make and takes and we can’t wait til we can attend another show ❤️ Like you mentioned, it was fun seeing the products in person and learned about products that were new-to-me !

scrapbooking expo 2023. love it. Buy my supplies for the year . classes are amazing; learn a new skill and free stuff, makes the class cost worth it.

I was there with my girlfriends! We usually go to the Orlando one, but dates didn't work for our group (Maine, Virginia, and Florida!) but we enjoyed Chantilly and a blast participating in the crop fun! We also love going for the shopping, online shopping is tough, we love to see things in person.
It makes such a difference getting to see things in person!
A friend and I will be attending the expo in Puyallup, WA at the end of the month and we are so excited to be going! It’s our second year attending and we are expecting to have as much fun this year as we did last year! I discovered so many great tips last year and look forward to what new adventures await!

There is a similar annual event on Mother’s Day weekend in Novi Michigan. It is called Mega Meet. I have gone several times and always enjoy myself and spend too much money!!
Yup, I definitely spent too much money, but had the BEST time!
The Great Lakes Mega Meet is May 11-13. I’ll be there on the 13th shopping and taking 2 classes. I had a blast there the last 2 years.
I was in Chantilly- Dulles Expo Center- with @Retta and @Sheila. Such a great weekend! Great Play dates and classes as well as I shopped a ton of great items which, like you said, you don’t just see anywhere! 💜

I was at this event for the whole weekend. It was my first craft and crop event, and I loved it! I am definitely returning next year since I live pretty close. I'm sorry I didn't run into you. That would have been cool, lol. Your video made me realize how much I missed in the shops. There was so much to do.

My cousin and I have been going to this for over 5 years. Last year there weren’t that many vendors about 20. Seeing your video I’m hopeful that there are more vendors this year.
I am hoping that more and more vendors will start returning!
Great sneak peek. I went to the one in Orlando for the first time last year and was blown away. My sister and I do it together. We go all out and do the whole package with the Mega Make and Take, dress up for theme days and shop like crazy. It is so much fun. The Orlando one is next week and I can't wait!

Yes, I was there for the first time and enjoyed every minute. The classes were great, as was the cropping as well as meeting new people. I saw you but wasn't sure where I recognized you from. I also ran into a former coworker and her mom, aunt, and grandmothers. I can't wait for next year. I will get ready to shop. Happy you came. Will travel to others if I hear about them ahead of time.

I do all my shopping online because the box stores do not carry much. This made me excited to try one and there is one that is a few hour drive from me later this year. Hotel and craft shopping!! Sounds fun!!

For the first time I went to a Scrapbooking Expo here in Columbus Ohio. I bought several 49 and Market items including some rub on stickers. Can't wait to start creating!!

Nope, I think close to my heart is still going strong with all of the individual sellers out there. Eyelet outlet was fun - now to figure out what I am going to do with those.

Scrapbook Expo is in Orlando next weekend. When I first started watching your video, I thought wow it’s not as crowded but I guess it got busier as your day went on. our Orlando location is always shoulder to shoulder, but still so fun.
I did go first thing, and it picked up throughout the day.
They are coming to my state in August and haven’t been to this expo in years. Thanks for creating a video about, it’s inspired me to check it out this year.

Great recap of the event. I LOVE the EXPO and have attended the Chicago area one since it's first year. I usually don't start watching videos of the event this early in the year, because I get too excited and then it's a long wait for ours in mid August. I'm a card maker mostly these days, so I go looking for stamps, dies, embossing folders, stencils ans inks. It's just fun to see all the products in person, especially now that most big box craft stores have gotten rid of their stamp and die sections. I go for just the shopping, because the classes don't really interest me. Looking forward to seeing your haul.
I also tend to go for the shopping! I spent about 4 hours there but could have spent a lot longer.

We have an expo in Mesa, AZ each year that's just like this one. I like to take 2 classes, shop & crop, when I can.

49 and Market is one of my favourites! I love their rubons - I started using them for exactly the reason you mentioned, they don't add much thickness to my memory planners. Thank you for another great video! You should just drive around doing these videos at expos, you are so good at it.

I was there! I actually learned about the expo from one of your old videos, so I decided to check it out for myself this year. I took my teenage daughter and we spent the whole weekend (and an embarrassing amount of mad money) there and had such a fabulous time. It is now on the calendar as an annual mother/daughter trip. 😊

I can’t believe I missed this! It’s the first year I didn’t know it was coming to the VA area.
It used to happen in June up here, but has moved earlier and earlier...definitely keep an eye out for next year!
Oh my gosh I think this is the expo happening later this month in Orlando!!! I want to go. I have never been to a crafting expo of any kind. I am a card maker and starting to dabble in folios and mini books, and also mixed media... really I love all kinds of crafts. How did I go this long without doing that?!?
You should definitely go just be warned you will want to buy everything. Lol

I’m going to expo in Orlando in a couple weeks. I don’t go every year but I highly recommend it if you can! There are classes you can take, also. I signed up for 3 this time 😃

Wow--thank you for bringing us along. I attended the SSBE in Pleasanton, CA, in March, and it seems that you had a lot more vendors in Virginia than we did. I look forward to attending so much each year, so it was a little disappointing to see fewer vendor booths, but I'm hopeful that it will continue to grow each year. So great that you got to see the Illustrated Faith, and Bee Creative booths in person--I really hope they come to California in 2024! And the Photoplay booth looks wonderful--I always appreciate companies like them who manage to manufacture most or all of their products in the United States. I may have missed the Rubbernecker booth in your video, but theirs is always terrific with lots or inspirational samples. So happy that you and your daughter had such a fun time together.
I am also hoping that more and more vendors start to come back. I think attending and purchasing plenty will continue to help the whole community bounce back.

I am fortunate to have a local scrapbook store who carries many of the brands that you showed - Photoplay, Simple Stories, Mintay, and 49 & Market - plus others, many from other countries. I will have to check out Scrappy Boy Products and Lindy's paints. I still have my Twinklings H20 shimmering paints that I use often, so I'm anxious to watch your assessment regarding Lindy's. Scrapbook Expo does come to Mesa, AZ on an annual basis, I think around September but their website will have the details. Fun video, Elisa, and I look forward to watching your haul video!

I found out about it at the last minute so only got to go Saturday morning. First time attending a scrapbook expo!! Wasn't too bad at the beginning (sort like your Friday) but after a few hours TONS of people were there!! I ended up picking up more than I thought once I got home 🤣Now looking to see what else may be coming to the DMV!!

This will be my last expo in Chantilly. I'm moving to Tennessee and it's too far to go. I loved the Megan make and take and the card swap the best. I enjoyed the show .

I have never heard of a scrapbooking expo. That would be something I would definitely enjoy going to. I am definitely a crafter and love trying different kinds of crafts media. But my most favorite kind of craft is making my own cards. I do a lot of rubber stamping and stenciling and have all kinds of rubber stamps, inks, embossing powders and scrapbooking papers. I have been doing this since I was in my 20's. I have a lot of different machines to make stickers and die cuts. I also have a Cricut machine that I love to use. However, since I have moved to Arkansas, I haven't been able to use any of my supplies because I still have them packed away. Living where I am has not been enjoyable. So I haven't been able to do what I like to do most. However, if given the chance to move back to where I want to go, may give me a chance to get back into doing my crafts again. I would also like to learn about all of the new products that are available and learn any other new crafts that are out there. Thank you for sharing your video. I enjoyed it immensely. I would love to go to one if they have something like that in my new area. Hopefully I'll be able to find one somewhere. Again, thank you for sharing.

Yes, booths all accept credit card. You actually get a bag when you register that is perfect for carrying purchases.

I don't actually work for the Expo - but, I assume if you purchased the ticket, you can get in!
Have you ever attended Wild? If so what’s your honest opinion on how well it showcases small independent planner businesses?
I have been for the past two years. It isn't really an event intended to showcase any companies in particular, as there is not any shopping at the event. It is more about coming together as a community of people who have a lot in common.

Was given a "will call order ticket".
What does this mean?
I imagine that means you will go to the Will Call booth at the front when you first arrive to check in 👍🏻
