At 66, my fasting goal is to allow my body to go into autophagy (at least 16 hours without eating). Avoiding added sugar helps me avoid hunger and cravings. Artificial sweeteners seem to make me feel hungry too, so I avoid them. Honey and maple syrup give me cravings. I don't understand why, but coconut sugar does not give me cravings. Chocolate that is at least 85% cocoa does not give me cravings; I can eat one piece and stop. Avoiding eating after sundown helps me with cravings and better sleep. And I love my evening tea, especially with shorter days ahead .
@DianeinDenmark. Good night Diane. I signed up last week, but I haven't received the invitation yet, ( I have also looked in my spam folder). Do you know if they send it the same day of the event? Thank you very much for your help. Hugs from Spain. Carmen
I was thinking of trying HRT. My hot flashes and insomnia are horrible. I do IF and focus on adding more protein and have lost 40 lbs since last October. Menopause is not for the weak, that's for sure.
Great! A good evening routine Is the Key to have a day going good and smooth, so, I'm very Happy you will support us in this topic 🙌🏾. Greetings from a sunny Italy ☀️
Oh my goodness I owe you a big thank you for mentioning intermittent fasting! I looked into it when you mentioned it maybe two months ago and it has been a god send. I've lost some seriously stubborn weight, but most importantly my diabetic husband has brought his blood sugar down 100+ points!!! He wasn't having good luck with medication and they kept upping and upping his dose. Intermittent fasting fixed the issue in TWO DAYS!!!! I read a book call Fast Feast Repeat, after learning about IF from you. It was full of all the whys and how to's, but I wouldn't have know to look without you. Thank you again so very very much!
I am not hungry in the morning, so intermittent fasting works well for me. I usually end up eating sometime between noon and 2:00, and then supper about 6 or 7. I also have noticed a sense of clarity, a smaller waist, and also more energy.
You have helped me so much! You've taught me how to establish a cleaning schedule that works for me. I used to get overwhelmed and clean the whole house at once. Now I zone clean. My house stays pretty clean most of the time this way. You helped me nail down an evening routine as well . I wish i would've found you in my early married life when I was first starting homemaking. Every young bride should take a class by you. Thank you so much!
Today I happened to declutter and clean a counter in my kitchen that is always a catchall. I felt like I got a pat on the back from Diane when I watched this video 😊
My evening routine is in shambles! In the last two week two of my teens have left home for there first years at college and I feel like I’m drowning. This is the perfect time for a reset.
Thank you Diane for your video. I do have my ticket for the conference. Thank you for sharing that. I am looking into intermittent fasting at the moment. I think it just might be a game changer for me. I have type 2 diabetes (not ridiculous A1C numbers but I have the title of diabetic)and need to turn that around. Need to start walking again on my lunch hour. I am an educator so I am back to the classroom. I will take one of my breaks to walk for 30 min. Starting next week. Some crazy, ridiculous humidity in my part of Canada this past week. Thanks Diane for all you do. Blessings on your day!
hello Diane, I paused the video and ran out to my garden and snipped some hydrangeas for my kitchen. ☺ Such a pick me up, thanks. I've IF for 6 years now and love how it frees up my morning, I skip breakfast, and I am not hungry now until noon. Hope it works well for you. Take care.
Thanks for the reminder. I thought my kitchen windowsill was in pretty good shape but when I looked at it with fresh eyes I discovered a fruit fly trap, a dying plant and a few too many items. Now to hygge it up! 💕
🧴🧽 when I watch your video, I’m feeling inspired to clean the zone you’re mentioning. But when it’s time to get up and do it…. I just don’t. I am feeling frustrated with myself and I cannot seem to fix it… thanks though for keep reminding me. I know, when I’ve cleaned my space I am feeling lots better.
Hi Nienke - we can definitely get you up and moving! Are you setting an alarm for when you need to "get to work", using a timer when working (just 5 or 10 minutes will get you started and give you momentum), rewarding yourself afterwards (your favourite beverage)? I will be cheering you on with my pom poms. Report back here! 👋🏼😃🎉🎉🎉
The routines are where it's at! I'm not perfect, but before your motivating videos they were nonexistent. Now with little ones they help set us up for good days at daycare, school, and work. Thank you for all your motivation along the way. Thinking of asking for a set of your wooden birds in your window for a birthday gift. What is the artist name? They would be so cozy in our kitchen 😍 Also thinking holiday themed tea towels this year. Can't wait to listen to your presentation! I've got my ticket and calendar marked. 💖💗💓
I love intermittent fasting! Once I got used to it, I chose my eating window to be from around 10 am to 19 pm. I noticed that I - besides from feeling more healthy - also save time and money from not having to buy, prepare and think so much about food 😂
October 1 will mark two years of intermittent fasting for me. I started because I was feeling bloated and have found that it helps. Like you, I am surprised at how quickly I adapted to the routine.
Intermittent fasting for a few years & Almost one year in full Menopause! At 58… holding my weight and trying to implement exercise yet still working full time - challenging! ♥️♥️love watching your videos and Flying!
The online events are fantastic.🎉 As for menopause, I've found sage to be most helpful in a variety of ways including just eating a leaf 🍃 every so often. ❤ TY, Diane and cheers!🎉
Hi Diane…..I have to admit that Zone 2 is my favorite cleaning zone. My morning and evening routines are second nature. Thank you for the continual encouragement 🌸
I love hearing about how your intermittent fasting experience is going so far and I am glad it is helping you in some ways. I have been an IF’er for 17 months so far and I already know that I’d like to do it for the rest of my life because I feel so much better. Thank you for the kitchen hygge encouragement. I am going to pick a fresh bouquet of wildflowers to put in a vase and choose a few crystals✨to place there too. I am considering getting a cold plunge tub as soon as I figure out where to put it. Lol. We don’t have a garage or basement and we live in a small cabin. Perhaps the front porch. Love ❤️ and thanks 🙏🏼 from New Mexico.
Time to get organized for fall. My son is back at his college for his final year and we are back to being empty nesters again. This fall our main decluttering project is going to be a full sweep of the garage-one wall at a time. It seems strange to say this but I can’t wait! ⚒️ 🧰 ⚽️ 🚲 🛴 😅
IF for the win for me as well! It really does help with post-menopausal symptoms and for that, I am so grateful! Particularly sleep, just like you, I am sleeping deeper and feel far more refreshed and energized the next day.
Intentionally paused on some elements of my morning and evening routine for the last few days because I’ve been sick and need to rest. I’m not enjoying skipping some things but I think it’s the right call? Still evaluating!
I love intermittent fasting and it has helped me loose weight and appreciate my food more. I also read the Glucose Goddess book which is so interesting and now make her granola every day. Love your videos and have my ticket 😊xx
I'm also an intermittent faster and enjoy the many health benefits as well as weight management. I do 16-18 hours overnight most days, and am trying to do 22-23 hours a few times a week to help me shift some excess weight. I'm off to get my Scentsy warmer out to make the kitchen a bit cosier! 😊
I was working my way into intermittent fasting by delaying breakfast until 11 am but some days I got a bit weak walking the dog in the morning. Then lately I find myself snacking on protein before bed so I need to pay better attention to my meal plans. I’m all set for your session and can’t wait! I’m working in my kitchen this week. My clutter here lives on the counters - papers and random stuff. 🤷♀️ Heat wave in Chicago this week so a good time to be focussed inside.

Hi, Diane, I’ll be in Denmark, when your meeting will start and -remembering last time- not sure, if we have good internet there… if there’s a possibility to watch your session after, let us know. Sounds very interesting, the other ones, too! Intermittent fasting is one of my goals, but every time I tried, I became extra hungry in the evening… had cravings I usually don’t have. But I’ll give it another try, because it’s necessary for me to loose some weight, for health reasons. It’s not too much, 5-10 Kilos would help a lot, but they seem to be glued on to me🤔. Ok, let’s get some hygge in the kitchen: I got free plums yesterday and plan to bake a plum cake. The smell is hygge, too… In Denmark we'll live in a very old house with very old apple trees around, apple cake will be a must… enjoy yours! Love, Monika❣
I've been doing 14&10 Intermittent Fasting (eating during a 10 hour window and fasting for 14 hours) for the better part of the last year. I've tried to switch to 16&8, but it just doesn't work with my work schedule, so I switched back to 14&10. I don't really feel hungry for the most part when I'm fasting (most of it is during sleep anyway). I find that if I do the IF, and drink lots of water and get 8,000-10,000 steps a day, I lose weight. If I only do the IF, I maintain my weight.
I need to try the Intermittent Fasting again. I did not take the HRT route but have been struggling with the menopausal weight gain and feelings of low energy and oh my gosh the hot flashes!
I could only do IF during lockdown when I was working from home, because the timings don't work for me otherwise (can't eat at work unless on a break). I do 5:2 now, much easier to fit into the working week.
I have my ticket. I've got pink roses on the kitchen windowsill. So glad it's the kitchen this week as ours is tiny but gets messy really easily. I'd like to find some pumpkin mugs to add a bit more autumn hygge.

I need to try the Intermittent Fasting again. I did not take the HRT route but have been struggling with the menopausal weight gain and feelings of low energy and oh my gosh the hot flashes!
Best of luck, Alison!
I could only do IF during lockdown when I was working from home, because the timings don't work for me otherwise (can't eat at work unless on a break). I do 5:2 now, much easier to fit into the working week.

Thanks, Eileen - always good to see you here!

I have my ticket. I've got pink roses on the kitchen windowsill. So glad it's the kitchen this week as ours is tiny but gets messy really easily. I'd like to find some pumpkin mugs to add a bit more autumn hygge.
