For me, it's because it swaps roles. Instead of the typical "men cheat and women are innocent", it's "women cheat and men are innocent". That's why I feel sad, but I think that seeing a guy cry this badly is usually a lot more heart breaking.
Cause when you see a guy sad you know someone fucked up badly
When you see a girl sad you assume she’s overreacting
Cuz guys don't really cry often so when you see them cry you know they are really really hurt

I love how you had Eliza and Alex interacting with one another throughout this. I feel like it gives this song even more emotion, especially since most animatic of Burn are almost sterile in the fact that Eliza is isolated and so going to herself or the audience or whatever
