- Airbnbust: is this THE END of Airbnb??? The whispers are getting louder and turning into a legitimate buzz. Why is there a projected downfall for Airbnb and the global phenomenon of short-term rentals? We'll look to cover all the bases today in terms of government regulation, discontent from hosts and guests, the hotel alternative, and the ethical question that often comes up with Airbnb about the housing market. More importantly, we'll cover how Airbnbust is also poised to hit our Airbnb Hosting here in the Philippines! Is Shelby Church onto something?

overpricing in the Philippines is the true problem. In the USA, it is a thriving business.
Agreed on this. What I don’t understand is the cleaning fee. Hotels never charge such fee. 😂😅. Yet, mas mahal pa ang airbnb kung room rate lang pag basehan 😂
Money grab should not be the main focus but the customer service and customer satisfaction. Return customers and word of mouth how excellent the stay which can prolong the longevity of the business. I think local and foreign tourist should be the same price.
this is good. buy condo unit when the bubble burst. there'll be more options to choose.
Some condo developments are starting to ban short-term rental but their selling point is airbnb 😅😮😢
Yes! They'll do everything to close a sale and we're left stuck 😔
There will always be a market for short-term rent as not all tenants are looking to stay a minimum of 6 months. If airbnb won’t be around, there will always be other booking websites that will cater to short-term rentals.
your so good and very helpful 💕💕💕💕
Thanks Mark for your great analysis as always😉. Let’s hope for the best for air b&b and hopefully it won’t affect that much the market in the Philippines. 😊
See you guys soon!
waiting for correction in the real state market to invest in condo. overpriced masyado d2 Pilipinas compare Thailand at Vietnam.
You’re correct, if I calculate the price per square meter/ft in the Philippines is way overprice. Higher compared to most part of the US.
Nice vid my crushie
It doesn’t make sense to buy a condo anymore in the Philippines, supply is too high compare to the actual demand, market correction is inevitable.
The next big thing that I will consider a fad would be the Condotel, specifically in those tourist areas.
A lot of these SMDC etc have a downside they change for pool usage and have restrictions for guests on weekend pool usage.
This is a problem for the hosts.
As guests get upset paying for this as hotels will never charge for this.
Haven't been a problem for me (so far). Guests generally understand that an Airbnb is not a hotel.
hotel rooms are usually smaller in sizes.
yes airbnb charges too much fees on the host, their commision and taxes are so high so the hosts have to increase its rate in order to make any money.
We inquire first in Airbnb then we look also in Facebook condo for rent..it's more cheaper in Facebook group..so nx month December 20 .I will be 1 yr in this condo. until my Spousal visa approve 🙏...LUCKY OWNER of this Condo 😂🎉😂
Yeah definitely seems from people try to why over charge governments want a cut and shutting that stuff down Also these people is running rents up for the local people
Last year our experience with Airbnb in Manila was the worst ever and we had to switch to a hotel. No more for us. The apartments that we got in Cebu and Manila and with allegedly good reviews were the worse ever from dysfunctional toilets to the room, bed and furniture breaking apart.
Sorry to hear about your bad experience! But yes honestly, I've also been choosing more hotels lately than Airbnbs when traveling.
Airbnb helped when I needed to stay long in Manila for over a week, otherwise hotels provide good service and peace of mind for a bit more@@ZiggingbyMarkSigg
Do you think they are over building Condos? Their a lot of airbnb in manila that I use to pay 8,000 peso a night 2 bedroom. But now I am only get the same room for 4,800 peso. I think where the next best thing is if you have the money in Host of Villas
Yes, exactly
We dont have ethical issue in the Philippines because in the Philippines, money trumps ethics and morals.
As usual Govt wants to take away financial independence and aims for every Filipino to be subservient to their Oligarch masters by taking away some sense of independent income creation beyond slavery, by taxing to death an industry that opens any hope for that. Kudos to the Oligarchs again that are the Puppet Masters to the politicians and legislators.
Well-said 😅 no ethical issue too specific to Airbnb because we have no affordable / subsidized housing anwyay. Everything is privately developed. No urban planning, even our city centers are privately developed.
@@ZiggingbyMarkSigg yes all the nice land are bought by the big oligarchs like Ayala, SM and then they build horrible small sized condo and overprice it. Poor ordinary Pinoys have no more land to buy because the big companies are buying it all.
louderrr
100% Agree!
I rely on AIRBNB when I stay in MAnila area. Maybe create your/ a Pinoy version of AirBnB before 2025 comes.
yes instead of always waiting for Singapore to do it. make a local version.
ohh nakakatakot naman mawala ang airnb sa pinas sana wag naman ohh
Anything to stop the middle class from having a passive/ additional income smh
😅
Don’t buy condo in ph 😂🎉
Aren't you just passing those tax increses to the people? So, the guest are supposed to be more worried than the host.
