This song was originally done by a Kazakhstan band called A Studio. The singer had died. Dimash then stepped in and sang this song. The original band members are accompanying him. So the audience knew very well the song. Also, the chant in the middle of the song is a Kazak traditional death tribute chant. Dimash put it in as tribute to the original singer. Also, the audience would have recognized this for what it is.
Take note of the guy at the end in the white shirt standing up clapping. That is billionaire Russian composer Igor Krutoy Who when he heard Dimash this song here for the first time came out of retirement to produce for Dimash. You will see him in many many other songs that you react to. BTW. I am still in awe with every new song I hear 6 years later 🎉
He's not a billionaire and this was not his first encounter with Dimash. They met previously to this event. Dimash and Igor have both stated this in interviews.

He didn’t win the Voice. He competed in the Chinese competition I Am the Singer and placed 2nd to a famous actress/singer. I suggest SOS from episode one. He opened the show and no one, including his fellow competitors (who adore him because of his personality) had never heard him sing. Watch the jaws hit the floor. After that first episode, he needed a security detail because of the fans treating him like the 2nd coming of the Beatles. Enjoy this rabbit hole as there are dozens of performances that will blow your mind. Dimash refers to his fans as “dears” as they are very dear to him. I think you already are a dear.
He is a righteous man, humble and funny. He once got hated by a judge because he dropped out of a competition mid way in the US because He doesn't want to compete with the children. He tried to explain how important the children are to him because in his country, Children are treasures that should not be stepped on by the adults or exploited in anyway. He explained that He asked beforehand if the competition involves children (which of course, the show hid from him) prior to signing the contract. He was instead humiliated by the judge. I've never been a fan of any singer all my life, until Dimash happened.

DIMASH is a regular sweetheart of the highest level. He shows appreciation and regard to his band members and give credit to their efforts; that is just DIMASH in all his splendor. Igor Krutoy, the man in white shirt giving his standing ovation, invited Dimash to participate in this festival in the same year. "Sinful Passion" was created in 1998. This is how the song was performed, exactly in the 20th anniversary of this song. It speaks of greater love, greater loss, greater despair, greater desire, greater passion. The loss or lack of this love, in Dimash's interpretation, has the dimension of a loss of life, which one is very anxious to restore. In place of the original purely pop instrumental part (inserts), Dimash included (after the last chorus) his vocalize, a stylized onomatopoeic (like a lament) eastern ornament and the words "дай мне, дай" (give me, give me) with a 23-second melismatic on the last syllable, which is not a simple substitute for a pop musical theme, but an extension of the story sung earlier in words. ❤️🎤🔝🌹🌹👏👏👏

I would suggest to do the music video first, then do the Almaty “Stranger Concert” version that took place in Almaty, Kazakhstan 🇰🇿 23 Sep 2022 . This song was originally done by a Kazakhstan band called A Studio. The singer had died. Dimash then stepped in and sang this song. The original band members are accompanying him. So the audience knew very well the song.
Also, the chant in the middle of the song is a Kazak traditional death tribute chant. Dimash put it in as tribute to the original singer. Also, the audience would have recognized this for what it is.

He didn’t win the Voice. He competed in the Chinese competition I Am the Singer and placed 2nd to a famous actress/singer. I suggest SOS from episode one. He opened the show and no one, including his fellow competitors (who adore him because of his personality) had never heard him sing. Watch the jaws hit the floor. After that first episode, he needed a security detail because of the fans treating him like the 2nd coming of the Beatles. Enjoy this rabbit hole as there are dozens of performances that will blow your mind. Dimash refers to his fans as “dears” as they are very dear to him. I think you already are a dear.
He is a righteous man, humble and funny. He once got hated by a judge because he dropped out of a competition mid way in the US because He doesn't want to compete with the children. He tried to explain how important the children are to him because in his country, Children are treasures that should not be stepped on by the adults or exploited in anyway. He explained that He asked beforehand if the competition involves children (which of course, the show hid from him) prior to signing the contract. He was instead humiliated by the judge. I've never been a fan of any singer all my life, until Dimash happened.

What I love about Dimash is that he sounds exquisite at any range, which is incredible in and of itself. Also, his voice has so many colors and tone to it, not mentioning his vocal dynamics. His voice is soaring only to express his intense emotions, whether it’s a cry for help (SOS), a yearning (Samaltau), or to express pain or loss (The Story of One Sky). Dimash, being a composer himself (“Unforgettable Day”- Ұмытылмас күн, The Story of One Sky, El Amor en Ti…) knows exactly how the song he interprets must be delivered.
Indeed, Dimash does not use his vocal abilities to show off, but to serve the song: through his voice, he’s telling us a story. In short, he’s not only a masterful vocalist - It’s precisely thanks to his mastery that Dimash is able to freely dive, and tap, into his emotions; but also an amazing storyteller. Above all, he’s a soulful, genuine, passionate, and humble artist.
At last, know that Dimash is classically trained - he even declined a position as an opera singer when he was only 22, and has absolute pitch (a rare cognitive trait by the way) which was discovered when he was only 5 years old.

The band named A'Studio that accompanies Dimash, is the same one that composed the song minus the lead singer named Batyrkhan Shukenov, who died of a heart attack in 2015. The song was originally performed in 1998 and the lyrics are by the poet Ilia Reznik together with Baigaly Serkebayev, (the keyboardist with long hair, which we see in the video accompanying Dimash.) The tones in the middle are oriental Arab technique (or traditional qazaq singing, called Joqtaw. It is a lament to the deceased singer). The last run is 24 seconds on 1 breath.

If you really enjoyed getting to hear him sing in a new style and genre, you should see "ACROSS ENDLESS DIMENSIONS", it`s crazy how he can change from pop. opera, ballades, to a master rockvoice. In this his voice sounds like an sologuitare in the ending.

"The song Sinful Passion, was first performed in 1998 by the Kazakh group A’STUDIO and gained leading positions in the CIS charts. Sinful love soon visibly materialized in the clip with soloist Batyrkhan Shukenov. The talented vocalist left the band in 2000. Without the lead singer, “Sinful Passion”, recorded with the help of an English producer, lay in obscurity for nearly 20 years, never becoming a worldwide hit until Baigali Serkebaev seized it. He offered Dimash to play it in 2018, twenty years after its premiere. The words of the song are the inspiration of the famous poet and composer, People's Artist of Russia and Ukraine Ilya Reznik. Group A - Studio in 2018 celebrated its 30th anniversary.
