    What does he mean when he says South Africa is too western? I mean Nigeria is building Eco Atlantic which looks western in design. So can anyone define what he means. Because our government invests alot in infrastructure to try and catch up with the world since we got our freedom 26 years ago whereby 90% blacks were poor, 60% were uneducated because of being excluded by apartheid. So our government is trying to correct those things. I think other African countries should start investing heavily on modernizing their infrastructure and not get comfortable in inadequate infrastructure and label it African feel

    With all its oil, Nigeria should be the richest country in Africa. It has very intelligent, hardworking and prayerful citizens. But because the country is mismanaged, its people are scattered all over the world. Imagine if they were to stay home and build the country. That country would be a superpower. African Tigress i love your show, i have just discovered it and subscribed. Nice interview you did. In future please ask balanced questions so that you can be able find out the root cause of the problem that will ultimately help everyone to arrive at the solution. As much as i enjoyed it, to me it felt like you already had pre conceived ideas about Nigerians suffering at the behest of all SA citizens that are very xenophobic. That's a wrong approach. There is always two sides to a story and one gospel truth. What i loved about "Zulu" is that as allegedly bad SA is he still wont go nowhere, and that's what all local Nigerians are doing as well bcos if they really suffered they would have all gone back home or other better countries than SA. So that goes to show that SA is a better place for everyone to live in irrespective of your background. It all depends on what your intentions are for coming here and how you behave while you are here. Am encouraging all Africans not just Nigerians to come live in SA and help us rebuild this beautiful country with their rare skills that we don t have here. Keep up the good work my sister.

    As a Nigerian i felt discontent with this!
    We have to ask ourselves when we immigrate, why do we immigrate? I noticed he never mentioned why he left Nigeria? interesting. There is this illusion that foreign is better in most african countries
    You going to southafrica where the economy or at the very least 70% is controlled by whites right? a 345 billion dollar economy. Yet you are coming from another though "underdeveloped" is valued at close to 500 billion dollars
    The questions we should be asking ourselves is what are my prospects not just as a black individual but as a 'foreign" black in a country where there are few black owned banks, refineries, malls, manufacturing car plants, steel plants etc? basically few opportunities for blacks especially, whats the upward mobility in terms of corporate jobs, loans for business, education etc etc
    it isn't enough to just like the nice roads, nice buildings and infrastructure, because one might find themselves only as spectator as those weren't built for blacks in the first place.
    The southafrican society is very complex, and the more i look into it, the more i understand why the xenophobic and negative attitude towards foreign blacks. The issue really is that the resources for the average black southafrican is also limited, they control only about 30% which isn't suitable for a country as developed and their population
    Lets start asking question, and looking at our leverage potential.
    *Scarcity of resources is one of the reasons people regardless of race or color fight each other, with more migration to SA, legal or illegal, that opportunity dwindles for the average nonwhite*

    I think he has mainly been in Johannesburg (our New York 😊) so that's why he thinks we're a bit Westernised. I challenge that he visits the smaller cities and rural Black areas if he wants to experience the Africanness of South Africa.
    Rural areas are where our traditions are still kept. Our African value systems etc. Throughout the year we hold traditional events and ceremonies where the whole village visit. It's compulsory for every member of the family to leave the big cities and travel home to attend and partake. Most of these traditional practices are done in December while wearing traditional attire and ancestors would be called to bless the event. That period is best as everyone has gone home for holidays.
    Its true, however, that most of our culture and traditions are modernised. It is because of contact with the West and that happens everywhere. Cultures exist among others and therefore influence each other. South Africans are probably the most exposed to Africa/West culture continuum where you have real Africa on the far left and West on the far right and everything in-between.

      My dear when you say compete with the poor what does that even mean? There are South Africans in Nigeria too and even though they get better jobs because they are perceived as foreigners we don’t mind we still love ❤️ them! I have a friend called Thabo and he’s absolutely amazing and super supportive and everyone in our industry has made sure he feels comfortable and moves ahead. I think whether as an African you have “scarce skills” or not it shouldn’t matter. This type of thinking is what creates divide and strive. We love you ❤️

      @@ChefsConsultAfrica well here in SA it matters because we want to elevate every SAn from being poor so we can become a prosperous country. If thabo does not have a scarce skill send him back, if he takes jobs of the poor send him back, if he sells drugs or trafficks people, does scams send him back to us. If yu do not have a scarce skill it does matter here, it's our territory we make the rules not you, it's either one follows them of leaves us in peace, we want our citizens to benefit from their country and be able to grow their own country

    • @ChefsConsultAfrica
      @ChefsConsultAfrica 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@CADIPRATV the sky is big enough for everyone. If your people won’t seize the opportunities in front of them it’s not Nigerians or anyone’s fault. Sending Thabo back because he doesn’t have a scarce skill defeats the purpose because he wants to be here and contributes to the society as an upstanding immigrant, even if he didn’t he’d be treated as any other citizen here with as much rights as anyone should be given. If an immigrant comes to SA to work and maintains the laws of the country I don’t see how he takes the jobs of anyone. There’s plenty more jobs for everyone else to occupy. It doesn’t stop the poor SA’ns from getting jobs if they WANT it. If I pay tax and open a business or work in your country I have every right to be there as you. @@CADIPRATV it’s so exhausting having to always explain to SAs that the bad ones you’ve encountered aren’t the whole nation. It’s like secondary racism because imagine being looked at by your fellow African and being profiled as a white man would and constantly having to defend your nationality. I’m human first, black/African second and nigerian last. When you see me you should judge me based on my person and individuality and not based on the stereotype that has been portrayed. It’s like saying all SAs are xenophobic or violent and dangerous, rapists and always kill their women. This is what we see here too about SAs but we know that this is just individuals not the entire nation. And I encourage you to open your mind and heart to people not based on where they are from but on what they offer or bring to the table.
