I have been a fan of NIN for a few years now, and everytime I listen to this song I can't help but get emotional. whether it be the original version or this one. It allows me to truly think about what I have in life and the people who surround me, and to be completely honest, it makes me thankful.
When all that is left in the universe is cold storms of stardust, no light or heat to give life, the gravity pulling the last remaining matter toward each other... clashing but without enough force to push, just joining as one, cold absorbed into even colder fields of darkness, until all is still, everything is the same, and everything is at rest... The finally moments of times existence ceases to be, as the last cycle stops moving settling to a steady nothingness. I can see NIN being in the playlist of the last moments.

Animal plant and man. But the sacrifice it requires will likely not be paid. Rest soundly that this dust ball, is not all there is of life. The heat of a sun a trillion miles or years away holds the same chance. Numbers uncountable with our entire species complete combined life spans, of planets have bore life. It brings me joy to know, God or no god, life is out there in such a vast amount that, no matter how much we F this up... we never got past our solar system, so all we were will die with our Sun. This limits the chance of us bringing the same ruin to the universe. That said I am sure other lifeforms have made a worse impact. I mean in the whole of existence we can not be the worst that ever exists... but there is always a last place, and for a species in the whole of the universe and beyond I can see us near the bottom, but there is much good in us. We have good in us... it is just hidden by abusive controlling groups.

Are these type of songs made underground on purpose just for the fans, And not meant for the rest of the world. TELL ME!!! Because unless you are looking up NIN songs you will probably never hear songs like this.
I know some of his songs are slower and maybe he feels like it would be a buzz kill to play them live, but at least play it at intermission when the shows over.
