Thank you! I was struggling with the MongoDB authentication, and this was a life saver for me

i didn't see the Webui when i started the Unifi docker. had to manually enter the IP in a browser incl the correct port 8443. so for anyone who has this issue too. UNIFI is running but you have to use the HTTPS and the port 8443 to get to the webui. other than that, THIS is the perfect tutorial to get this working. I had so many issues with MongoDB, i just left it for what it was. NOw i have this running like a charme and finally i have a Unifi Controller that runs on my Unraid. Just where is belongs. THANKS ED!!!!!!

You're a lifesaver! My old controller crashed and I remembered you made a video on the migration. Love it!

Thanks Ed! Tomorrow I use this video to transfer my unifi docker instance over. Yes, if the internet goes down my two lads are moaning very quickly. Thanks for the continued awesome work.

Thank you for this! This was the only video that got this working for me. The other tutorials with the mongo initialization scripts never worked for me.

Thanks Ed, Ive been waiting hoping you would create a tutorial on this. I have been using the Reborn container but much rather be using the more conventional way. Thanks so much!

Not sure if it's my work computer blocking it, but couldn't see it in the description.
Thanks for another great tutorial Ed

Thanks for the video, i noticed the other day that logging in to their cloud portal alerted me that an update was available yet my container was up to date. Biggest help was the mongodb stuff since that's all brand new to me.

Tried this earlier in the year and then also I spent hours last weekend trying to set this up with the existing guides and it just wouldn't work. Thanks so much for this, worked perfectly (assuming it finishes adopting my old devices!) Edit: they were stuck in an "adopting" loop because I hadn't updated settings to the new IP (Specifically under Settings -> System -> Advanced -> Inform Host)

Glad it working for you. Ah yes good point if the controller is on a different IP you would need to update it.Thanks for sharing that :)

Good video! Thank you, wish I had this guide about 9 months ago!!!. I got it running though with mongodb using just guides on the net, super painful back then and recently ditched the entire setup for a tplink wifi 7 setup. I found the controller to be unstable after updates using wpa2/3 promting resets and re-adds of clients to my wifi often, plus not happy i had to add another db system.

Any workaround for a NAS with a CPU with no AVX support? Edit: Mongodb 5.x and greater seems to require CPUs with AVX support to work. My NAS is not that old, Terramaster F4-423.

Great vid mate I don’t have unifi but maybe in the near future. Im building a new home as was thinking of going to unifi. (Cloud Gateway Max, Switch, Access Point or 2 thinking wifi 7 but only have a 1gbps connection) plus hardwire points throughout the house. My question is I currently have an Asus GT AX6000 should I make the switch is Unifi as good as everyone says for stability, reliability etc?

You talked a bit about bridge vs custom docker network with custom ips. I've been trying to get my tailscale network working via the unraid plugin so that I can see the webUI / access the docker containers that are on a custom network. So far I can't get it to work and the only webUIs I can access are on the containers using bridge. Anyone have advice on this or have gotten it working this way? I especially want to be able to see my NGINX reverse proxy UI remotely this way

    • @SpaceinvaderOne
      @SpaceinvaderOne  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

Set the docker network setting to Host access to custom networks: Enabled as I do in this video. And in your tailscscale enable subnet routing to your local network and it should work fine :)

Yes and no. As soon as you configure custom networks you will have the same level of access to the host, and you are expected to manage network security through traditional means. Its just a safe default.

Like a few others have mentioned here the tutorials with the init-scripts did not work for me either. Next time i'll just check your channel to begin with. Thanks again for a great upload. Although, some other tutorials do create a "unifi_stat" user, what is the purpose of this, and is there a reason you did not create one? Cheers!

i have a Windows VM running on my unraid server to host Blueiris. i installed the unifi controler software for selfhosting that can run on windows, mac or linux. i just downloaded the software for windows click next next next and installed. logged in with my unifi account and imported my settings. everything is running perfectly. this was just dead simple compared to this version with mangodb.
