also wood elves are actually morally grey despite being 'good guys' proving that elves don't have to be either the best at everything ever or the most evil MFs in the universe. im looking at you dark eldar

In first edition, when using a Death Jester, you got to choose between 'regular' ammo (sustained...ish) or bio-explosive ammo.
In the latter case, all units that the bioexplosive "shrieker" ammo passes over had to make a morale (battleshock) test.
If it hits the target, from then on it moves randomly around the board 2d6 inches.
On 11 or doubles, the target's head explodes , potentially taking out enemy...or friendly units.
Fun times for the guy who's armour is made from the skeleton of the troupe's precious Death Jester.
holy shit the worst part about the nonsense play thing is It's a PERFECT transition to talking about the Harlequins because this is exactly the kind of shit I can see them do in some performance on a Craftworld or in Commorragh

Okay I came for the harlequin talk but the Mime vs Clown racism play had me laughing the whole first twenty minutes.
Absolutely LOVE the harlequins, I know there over the top but that’s what WH40k is about, and there the dramatic flare I love. I actually practice interpretive dance similar to there movements out of inspiration. It’s fun and therapeutic, and is one of the ways I practice flexibility and stamina. Wonderful video as always, and highly entertaining
i mean they are literally the eldar's strongest units, empowered by the only unchained/unbroken eldar god left, cerogorach. random space marines get up the same level of antics yet don't get nearly as much criticism so meh. im ok with the harelquins kicking some ass because frankly im sick of only space marines being able to have plot armor.

Fun fact about real life harlequins and clowns, their origins lie in early Christian carneval plays, often they were depicting the devil and or pagen gods, most commen among them Odin and his wild hunt. The clowns are Odin. Have a nice day if you see this also great videos keep up the good work.

Ok so not only is the highschool mimes vs clowns story completely wild its also surprisingly relevant to the harlequins. In the back of one of the harlequin codices there is a detailed description of the play of the fall and in it Slaanesh summons MIME DAEMONS who drag away the eldar gods and chase Cegorach and their followers up until the present day. The main harlequin play is literally evil mimes vs clowns

So context: this guy and his brothers were all booted out of their dad's palace and told to go found some new cities as colonies, so they did. The guy I'm talking about however decided for whatever reason that it would be a good idea to impersonate Zeus and went about it in a manner so half-assed that not only was almost nobody impressed, but when Zeus found it, he vaporized that insult to actors and then did literally the same thing to the city that idiot had literally just founded just because there were some people who actually managed to be fooled.
Compared to that time he turned a guy into a wolf for trying to feed him human flesh or the hundreds of people he's molested (what, you think Zeus was just straight?), that episode isn't what I'd call famous, to make a massive understatement.
Chrono playing a Sister of Silence in a play is pretty neat.
i know this is 8 months old, but the point at 1:00:43 where you sum it up with they dont have much impact on the story, id like to rebuke entirely. Cegorach is directly responsible for the resurrection of Roboute Guilliman and pretty much the 40k setting as is. If that is an at all interesting statement, I can provide a read that you should cover in a video.

The harlequins were my first army in 8th edition. I had no idea of there rules, no idea of there lore, I just thought they were cool. Now I have around 5,000 points of harlequins, I regret nothing 😊

About halfway through this video and I get the sense that you may not know that books 2 and 3 of Path of the Dark Eldar (another AMAZING book by Andy Chambers) features a Harlequin as one of the main characters.
Yeah the Path Of The Dark Eldar books are great with having (obviously) Drukhari and Harlequins.
Read those after I finished with Path of The Eldar books.
