Whenever I beat a game I always get depressed because you get so connected to the main character and all the friends of the main character and just to see it all end is really depressing
the moment i realized splatoon was far more than just a video game, but a core part of who i am as a person. as we keep heading towards the end, especially now that splat1 is gone, its important for me to look back on this moment and realize how amazing the gift of life truly is...
This music, it makes you look back on all the fun you’ve had, from the original Splatoon in 2015, to Splatoon 2 memories. It feels good, and it makes you think “what’s next?”
The day octo expansion came out, I nearly beat it in one session, but stopped right before the end. I went to bed, slept like 5 hours, and woke up super early because I was too excited to finish this game. Seeing the sunrise in these credits while the sun was rising in the real world is one of my favorite memories.
I just beat octo expansion again. I have to say, story wise its way better than the original campaign of Splatoon 2. I just love how despite being a blank character, we feel Agent 8’s emotions and passion to want to go to inkopolis! And we want to help them get there too! The men cakes help flesh that out, and the words “imagine inkopolis” when you go back to the inkling version. It really shows how much Agent 8 craves and wishes to get there. It’s awesome. This expansion also truly sold me on pearl and Marina, at first I was iffy on them and disliked them because they were new and unfamiliar, but now I like them more than Callie and Marie, especially since their designs are so different, and how they stuck with us to get us out of the Metro! The ending music when you beat Tartar sells the emotion. “We did i, we finally made it!” and I especially like how when we get to inkopolis, we start in the alley near the subway, like we just put on some clothes, and emerged from the alley hoping to fit in. It’s a great story, and Tartar was so terrifying I got into the lore and that shit goes DEEP!! Splatoon has surprisingly deep and dark lore despite being colorful and about cool squid kids splatting eachother. It all makes sense and comes together nicely. Like how turf wars are inspired by the war between inklings and octarians. Its like Kirby but more digestible and I like it more. I’m so excited for Splatoon 3 to learn more lore.

It really is heavenly.. Until I got Splatoon 2 during Christmas in 2020, my mind was literally ON THEIR MUSIC. Watched that stuff more compared to any other music for a while. It changed me- not only did it make me OBSESSED with my love for Splatoon, but also motivated me to be a fan MORE and MORE. I think Fly Octo Fly - Ebb and Flow was AMAZING AS SQUID, but also Fresh Start AND I think Ebb and Flow, not to mention Bomb Rush Blush and perhaps Tide Goes Out. Tidal Rush? OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHH YES- THAT'S WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT. But Into the Light? It gave me fishin' shivers. The end to a MASSIVE journey given some really neato closure- the end of a MASSIVE experiment, the END of a battle that meant the immediate fate of Inkopolis and the WORLD, the END of many suffering and death at the hands of the Telephone.. This is why I love Splatoon- not only the world and it's characters are cute as squid, but their music is FISHING UNRIVALED.
I realized when I played octo expansion near the end Captain Cuttlefish asked agent 8 what agent 3 looked like, We were creating an agent 3... This game is full of secrets LOL
Octo expansion is the best story mode ever! When I got this, I started playin it right away. I completed it in 3 days, but it doesn't matter. The end is relaxing and it makes me want to cry my tenta missles out. But again, love it and it's great. :D

I genuinely think this is better than the Splatoon 3’s credits. Yeah, this is older, but this feels more affective thinking about it. You finally see the light again after Agent 8’s battle with Agent 3. You survived Commander Tartar’s trap and outwit him with Pearl and Marina’s help (oh, and Cuttlefish’s). And this song is absolutely beautiful, as it matches this scenery perfectly. And let’s not forget Meatball. 1:52
Listening to this the day before Splatoon 3 comes out makes me emotional. Having so many great (and some not) memories with friends, some with family, and just by myself. It may be ending, but what's important is that it happened. We had those memories, and enjoyed them. And I'm happy with that.
This song is like a representation of nastalgia and change. It might be sad that we are losing the past, but we always have the future, no matter if we are there or not; and it’s just best that we live in the moment. But still except the happy times from your past, even when you know and except that things will change, and you may never get the past back.
To come so far yet to have so much ahead of you, that feeling of a nervous look forward as you remember your past. That’s how I would describe nostalgia.

Listening to this 5 or so years later is nostalgic as hell, and I just got out of 8th grade today too at the time of me writing this, so this hits hard with both, it’s good for remembering the good times you had with friends and with Splatoon 2 as well! God, Splatoon 2 plus the Octo Expansion was such a good game, ain’t no other Splatoon game gonna compare to it. I remember finishing Octo Expansion when I was like 8 or something, it’s crazy how much time has passed already, it was truly amazing to me then, and it still is to me now! Thank you Splatoon 2 for all the good memories!

I wasn’t good at it and I didn’t really like it so I didn’t play it much. Years later and I’m I decided to try the game again and now I’m loving the game and it made me realize how far I’ve come in life even though I’m still young. Safe to say I felt a little emotional seeing how I’ve grown along side the games even if I haven’t played the second game. 🥹 here’s to this amazing journey 🥂 cheers
