As a retired decorator I can say that you did a brilliant job. Everything in life is a learning curve and the more you decorate the more confident you become. There are lots of folk telling you to do it a certain way, but you're doing it the best way, your way, and the feeling of achievement at the end is all down to you.

All of the above is true 🤗 i only advice her to take better care of some safety . The way she was cutting the shelf and holding it in balance with her foot was a bit careless wasn’t it .

Watching this video I was more concerned for Alex over stretching on those small steps while filling the ceiling, a little later on she had taller steps. As a professional decorator I always paint a room ceiling first, then walls then woodwork, Alex did the walls first, doing it her way still achieved the same results.

If you position the curtain hooks at the bottom edge of the top stiffened strip, then you will be able to cover the curtain rod mechanism with the top of the curtain.
I commend your dedication to getting this bed room sorted. You worked very hard in making the walls lovely and smooth, ready for painting. Filling in cracks all over the old walls of your home. What a lovely room it turned out to be. It really looked so comfortable and cosy. What a great job you did. Your visitors will love staying. ❤ xx
I love the top skirting boards! They shall be so named, hence forth. And I have a chatty cat, as well. It makes talking to them all that more satisfying, when they answer back. I love the color and the final result. Green and orange is such an underutilized color scheme. The colors give the room such warmth. Once the floor cornices are installed and the floor and door refinished, this will look like a room in a fancy spa retreat.
The room is stunning. I hope your guests enjoy and appreciate all you have done. In the 1800's people hung their curtains so they "puddled" onto the floor. It was a show of wealth that spilled over. It is still found in many Southern mansions in the U.S. Just a bit of useless information. 😊 Have a great visit.

Wow. I have your exact sander. I take my small shop vac hose and hook it to my sander and turn it on while I’m sanding. All the dust goes into the shop vac. No dust and no clean up. Much easier. You did a fantastic job it looked beautiful!❤

Watching you use the table saw holing the wood with your foot made me think of the shop teacher we had in College. He was great! He’d always have stories about things going wrong in the classes he taught or in the various workshops he’d worked in. They were always hilarious cautionary tales. The final exam we had in his class we knew that there would be a bonus question on it. I joked that it would be something like “Name three ways you can die while using a pencil in the shop”. It wasn’t, of course, but we were disappointed.

Lovely job ladies. A little tip on the curtains that you are supposed to do, is to pull the cords on the heading tapes at the back and it gathers the curtains up to fit your windows and gets rid of all the gapeing between each ring/hooks. Hope you don't mind the tip. I had the tip myself many years ago from someone who made curtains for a living.
It's great to see that Alex knows her stuff! I use a bigger version of that chop saw and it's so handy (if heavy). I put an old vintage spatter glass flycatcher light shade up in my bedroom and I'd love a house full of them 😂 wall and skirting prep before painting is one of the most tedious jobs 😭

One suggestion, make sure that your door knob isn’t going to bash into your mirror when the door opens all the way. But great color and great job!

Great stuff but why not unscrew the switches? Much easier to paint when they are not attach to the wall and less cleaning to do afterwards 😊

Avoid the dust by using a sponge and water . Adding dish soap will make it even smoother when applying .
