Rodtang is a real beast, ate all of Haggerty's shots like they were nothing, then unleashed with brutal body shots. Very small for his weight class too.
134 pounds is the right size for a 5'6 guy. The other guy is too light. You see guys Rodtangs height being 112 pounds and under. THAT is light.

Haggerty has a lot of heart. He took a lot of punishment and is probably the only fighter to stand toe to toe with Rodtang and make Rodtang WORK for that win.

@@solarjudgement4575 you get hit, in the face, through your life harder and harder while not getting knocked out and bracing for it. Your neck muscles strengthen to help absorb the damage away from your skull/ brain. His necks bone structure and muscle structure are probably built like a damn mutant by this point.

Rodtang did the right thing by pushing forward as he is shorter so he was closing down distance! Great performance from both fighters both showed heart and determination 🥊

Yes Rodtang is relentless, amazing fighter and sportsman must be very hard to hit someone with your best shots and they walk straight through them. Respect to both fighters especially Haggerty everyone loves a winner I'll stick by Haggerty win or lose.
When Rodtang goes beast mode I think a grizzly bear would be in trouble.

Great sequences:
1) Round 1: Rodtang, after several flurries of attacking upstairs, his opponent understandably moved his guard higher ... then at 1:13 Rodtang made his move with a lightning quick left hook to the body under his opponent's right elbow (read: LIVER SHOT). OUCH. Most painful and debilitating (but legal) spot to get hit. Down he went, got up, and after a brief count returned to the fight, looking grim. Amazing he got up at all from that, much less quickly and still fighting hard. Round winner: Rodtang.
2) ROUND 2: At 6:07 Rodtang threw the 2nd of two r.round kicks, and Haggarty caught it, and tried to foot sweep him ... and despite being on 1 leg, Rodtang sensed the coming move, cupped the back of haggarty's head with his right hand, and LEAPED (on 1-LEG) OVER the sweep, and escape the lock. Slowmo replay at 7:32 ... that was a badass veteran move. 😎 Round winner: Rodtang.
3) Round 3: Rodtang goes into tank mode, and kept rolling ahead into the pocket. Hag is one tough and talented guy, and has the heart of champ, but when Rodtang is ahead 2-0 and goes into savage mode, it's pretty much game over, barring a very very lucky shot. Hang took a knee 3 times in the round, and the match was over.

This is exactly what you have to do to beat tricky fighters like Haggerty. Haggerty got that awesome switch fighting set up but he needs time and space to set all his stuff up. Rodtang is just pure pressure and aggression. Amazing! love to see them do it again.

Rodtang just walks through everything and has way to much power for Haggerty. Haggertys hands are not good enough for Rodtang.
Master class by Rodtang , that liver shot in round one was brutal. Respect to Haggerty for hanging in there as long as he did, but the skill gap was very apparent from the start of the bell. Rodtang made Haggerty look slow, just walking him down and picking him apart.
@Fedor Silva Yeah first fight was close, second fight the better fighter adapted. Haggerty didn’t adapt, had the same game plan, that’s the diff in skill gap.

@@Mr.BL0NDE_ Spot on. The first fight could have easily went to Haggerty. As you said Rodtang adapted for the second fight and Haggerty didn’t. If you remember Rodtang had success with a liver shot in the first fight as well.

@@emilethrash2670 Haggerty said he does 10 week camps for fights that’s 2.5 months so he’s cutting roughly 25 lbs more or less.
He probably does 2 training sessions a day 5-6 days a week, diets through the camp, has a water cut at the end
He’s said on tape he fasts for 2 days before the fight as well
I’d like to see him put on some mass and fight at a higher class I honestly think he’d do better he even admitted he always feels drained in his vlog from the naito fight
But he also said it was better for that fight so maybe it was just improper diet out of camp that made his weight fluctuate and now he’s sitting closer to his fight weight due to more discipline with nutrition and more structure in his athletic program.
But a lot of guys cut between 20-30 lbs. especially in MMA.
Traditionally Thais cut 10 lbs max since weigh ins at big stadiums like Lumpinee are the morning of the fight so they cut way less to avoid fighting while dehydrated.
I’d like to see them put limitations on weight cutting and the athletic commissions really start monitoring combat athletes regularly because if not someone will die cutting weight. A few already have. Just no one popular enough that you’d hear about.
Cutting 10lbs is max what they should cut if they’d want to go down a class but I think you should fight at what you walk around at. Then it would make the sport a lot more honest. A lot of guys cut a lot to fight smaller guys and it blows my mind. Or they cut because everyone else does and you don’t really want to be the guy who gives up the size advantage.
But yea rodtang is a little monster.
Haggerty is too but I think he’d be even better if he wasn’t depleting himself with the weight cut and whatnot
He’s like 23 though so he’ll make those adjustments eventually
