Everyone expects that a character is introduced to the audience then he/she is will be introduced to the protagonist . Demon slayer did a fricking great job in this thing. They never introduced akaza before and boom akaza vs rengoku just like in MHA season 1 where everyone was surprised by Sigaraki and later his origin was shown. Akaza is just like that, out of the blue challenges rengoku to fight him and because of that tanjiro learns how strong an upper demon moon is.

thats because these 7 episodes will be very different compared to the movie. It was tanjiros perspective in the movies and in the series it will be in rengokus perspective, it will have a ton of different scenes and explanation to questions as to how akaza suddenly came in the scene

Not everything has to be god tier written to be good. demon slayer is a bliss to action/animation lovers with awesome soundtrack and brilliantly executed emotional scenes for the audience. Ya its hella generic with mid to decent characters but fulfills the purpose it's famous for. Complexity doesn't necessarily equate to quality, enjoyment factor plays in too.

aftermath of mugen train movie will be shown in episode seven, the ending of the movie was actually not the ending of the mugen train arc in manga, it ends with Rengoku's residence sequence where tanjiro interacts with Rengoku's brother and father, i think they will also show the conversation between akaza and muzan which will clarify the doubts of why he end up facing rengoku, and yes it is canon and is connected to S2, this arc of the main storyline was small so they decided a movie adaptation

They were gonna make movie for season 2/red light district too , but they didn't got sponsorships (idk why they wanted sponsorships even tho they rocked the box office with the movie) because the movie would had a lot of bloodshed . So they ultimately decided to make an anime series .
actually it was shown in the anime when muzan orders akaza to kill the hashira and tanjiro too , i read the manga so i dont know but ig it was shown in the series too and rengokus backstory is shown in the manga after the fight with akaza so they will adapt that part in season 2 . hope i cleared some doubts of people here

I'll make it clear for you.... First of all one of the obvious reason for remaking this arc is "Money". Now keeping this aside there are some other reasons why they had to recreate mugen train arc.
One of the reasons is that doesn't matter how hard you try, it's almost impossible to completely cover whole arc without anything getting skipped from manga. As a professional studio, ufotable really wanted to make justice for manga and manga readers. For ufotable: Season 1, movie and then season 2, this order was not very "professional", instead they wanted future new watchers to have an option for this arc: either they can watch a 2hr movie or can proceed with general viewing. This makes viewers more comfortable, dynamic and have a unique experience.
Now next another reason is studio(or may be writers) didn't want to go directly onto entertainment district arc because some other things (in manga, after movie) was still yet to cover. So again this makes it more unprofessional for them to have users question the continuity. This is what they wanted to show in the trailer. But you should know that there will be brand new scenes in the whole mugen train arc in season 2.
In other words this was done to create a better context for next arcs..
