Thanks brother! Yeah it's insane how expensive barbershop tools can be!

Cool edutainment video. However that was just a wooden drawer lock installation. Your description box also says ''metal drawer''.

Thanks and sorry for any confusion, but yeah that and the title are accurate. Adding a filing cabinet lock, and yes in certain instances this same method can be used on metal drawers as well. Would just need to use metal drill bits instead and different fasteners, of course.

@@OverkillWoodcraft One also needs more than just 1 metal drill bit. If one wants to make the hole bigger, they would also need a stepper bit as well.

@@sterlthepearl1000 I said "bits", plural, which it could be done with instead of using a step bit. But hey, whatever works for you. Bet you're tons of fun at parties...

What do call the piece you put on top? Opposite of the cam lock the one you drilled to holes.

That's just a piece of aluminum angle iron I cut then pre-drilled holes in, made sure to file the burrs too. Unfortunately a lot of these locks don't come with a catch that works in situations like this.

Where did you get this lock kit? I also need one with a right angle plate to lock against

I bought the lock off Amazon and just made the right angle plate from scrap aluminum angle. Just drilled pilot holes and filed down the burrs.
