With 100% respect with how much talent it takes to play with all these accessories, if you're gonna play cajon, play cajon. Its meant to be with your hands, not pedals or cymbals. I get sticks, I get brushes, I get shakers and I get a foot tambourine, but when you try and make something sound like another instrument then what's the point of it really? Play it with your hands, add flavor with just the box and what you can do with your hands and feet. That shows true talent for what the instrument is as itself

My Son plays the Cajon but found himself playing hard what kind of gloves can you recommend to prevent swollen hands??
It's best to let his hands swell, and after a while, it'll get stronger and no longer swell.

He is using two reversed pedals. One for hitting the cajon for bass drum sound and the other for hitting tambourine

Cajon is an instrument. in my opinion, it's always about who is playing, not the instrument itself. It can be used in all possible ways. If we used only the way it was originally built for, we would only play afro-peruvian and flamenco music. Yes I was kinda radical by saying that. What mean is that despite I like instruments being used in a simple way, the way they were ment to, I also love people exploring them in all possible ways. Probably wouldn't do it, but it's creative. I also love the ideia of compact "drumsets" for acoustic presentations or small places. Sorry for my English, I'm not a native

For me, it's the simplicity of a cajon that makes it great. With the complexity of the setup and the space it's taking up, he may as well have a drum kit on stage.
The Schlagwerk drum sounds flat on the snare, almost like there is none.Drummer is good, but I've heard better.

Acho que a ideia da apresentação é justamente ser mais compacta e enxuta. Uma bateria mudaria totalmente o clima. Obviamente esse vídeo é um espetáculo à parte. um solo, com a intenção de se destacar e extrair ao máximo o som do instrumento. Seria muito sem graça um solo de cajon ser simples e padrão. Tenho certeza que durante as músicas normais isso foi respeitado

if u can get that many people to clap and dance then u got a good solo, doesn't matter if it's a cajon or a goddamn mandolin.
It's immaterial how good a percussionist/drummer you are........Cajons just don't produce a nice sound imo. Bet this guy sounds super on full percussion set up.

He's not actually playing a Cajon. It's a hybrid. And on every level it's not a good solo. I can do better on a straight Cajon and considerably better on a kit 😡
Honestly wasn’t a big fan of this no real groove… also using a foot pedal to play the bass on cajon is a bit lame, unless you are using like a hi hat…
1) Cajon Solos are shit.
2) Cajon solos when you cheat and use a kick pedal are super shit.
