Hi Evie! I just wanted to say as an autistic person (23f) I can understand the struggles you go through as a mother, though I wasn't non-verbal as a child my parents had their struggles. I promise it gets better as we age and you should be proud of yourself for being such a loving mother who doesn't make life harder for your son just because his brain works differently than yours. Listening to you talk about your son made me tear up man,,, I’m also autistic, my parents had a difficult time coming to terms with my diagnosis, so hearing how caring and understanding you are is truly heartwarming. You’re really an amazing mother.

I hope you are doing well in life now! I work as a caregiver for adults with intellectual disabilities for an advocacy agency and sadly your story sounds so similar to so many others. I'd go to war for my peeps, they're like extended family to me, through thick and thin. I hope, whether it's blood or not, you have a family around you and people who will fight for you too. You and everyone else deserve to be loved, don't forget it!
I don't think having a difficult time coming to terms with it is necessarily bad. Doesn't mean they don't love you. Things are hard to deal with and people deal with them different ways.

Same here! It was the bling for me! She definitely made me feel comfortable to express how I felt through my nails. What nail techs told me was “ too much” or they couldn’t do, I just started to do my own and I love it!

Autistic mom here too. And the mama bear in me is so protective over my son. It’s been such a journey and the small milestones to some are such big milestones to me. But come at him sideways and ima act a whole fool lol. Learned so much from you over the years 🙌🏾💕💕
Love when you said you appreciate the small milestones ❤❤❤. I'm an occupational therapist and I work with children with special needs. I always try to tell the parents, "appreciate all small goals because eventually they'll lead closer towards the bigger goals".

I worked in customer service for 6 years (wasn't able to do my nails for that time) now I've been doing my nails for almost 3 years. I love it so much! People ask me if I'm a nail tech, or tell me I should do other people's nails all the time. I'm constantly saying I would never. I couldn't stand if I messed up on someone else! I really like these style videos! I like the longer ones with chit chat, i watch nail vids when im doing my own so being able to listen to someone talking rather than music makes the time go by nicely, and i feel like im hanging with someone LOL! I enjoyed this video a lot. I started doing nails about 2.5 yrs ago. I like acrylics but love polygel. Been waiting to start my own channel, but I am an author, screen play writer and producing my first movie. Did I mention own radio station too. Over the years, I have learned over 20 different hacks. Will be so glad to find time for some YT fun.

Your nails are bomb 🥰 and with my son he was born prematurely at 29 weeks via an emergency C Section, he was 2lbs 6oz, placed in NICU where he stayed for a month, and when he turned 4lbs 6oz plus was able to maintain his body head and breastfeed is when he could come home. I was 21 when I had him. He’s my little miracle baby too 🥳 they do say African American children in NICU or just born prematurely in generalhave a much higher survival rate over any other race and you can research that. Just a little fun fact. My son will be 2 in a few months by the way.

I have a 7 year old nonverbal autistic son. I already loved your journal and personality but knowing that you can relate in a manner most ppl can not makes me love your channel even more. This autism journey is already hard enough and add nonverbal on to it gets overwhelming a lot of the time. I have not found many ppl who understands how it feels to have a nonverbal child esp within the black community! It’s a reason I am so drawn to you and your channel and this is why! You don’t know me and I know you don’t post your son a lot but it feels good to know that someone can relate to me and I’m not alone! Thank you for opening up about him!

I'm so sorry you have to get so defensive for your son. I work for an advocacy agency working with adults with intellectual disabilities and I just know he's gonna grow up and be able to live his own life though, whether he'll be on his own or with a similar agency I just know he's gonna get there and I'm so happy to see a supportive parent. I cannot tell you how many individuals in the agency don't have that and grew up abused. You're doing amazing for being the outlier and supporting him.

It was sweet to hear more about you but I am also private which has kept me from doing anything on social media. I am currently a pharmacy assistant, for almost 4 years. I’m not sure if it’s what I want to keep doing, I would have to do upgrading if I wanted to go for technician. Customer service is really hard sometimes, people really be testing your patience. I’ve recently started doing my own acrylic nails and I really love it, I’m worried about not being good enough to do other peoples nails. I don’t really have a purpose for this comment but I really love your channel, your work, and your perspective on life. You’re doing amazing in life, I’m so happy for you!! Hello. I love all of your videos. I just wanted to say. My first baby was two years ago. I was 34 years old. And she was born at 23 weeks gestation. She was one pound. Went down to 14.5 ounces the very next day. They told me if she would of been born a day earlier they would not have tried to do any life saving measures. She is doing amazing now I thank god everyday for my miracle. I’m glad to hear your daughter is amazing as well.

Yes I totally understand wanting to sit down and enjoy doing your nails. My kids will be acting good so I start doing them n bam they all need me. I have had my nail stuff out for a week now and can’t get the time to myself. I don’t want a set of nails too masked me do them for 3/4 days before I’m all finished. Mom life.

I have a high functioning autistic daughter. The first couple of school years were rough, as she couldn't get her words out to say what she wanted. It took a while and some hard work, and now she's in general classes, scoring high in her classes. A lot of people, both family and friends, have told me that she was weird and not normal. I'm so proud of her. Just little steps every day, and lots of prayers. And it makes me feel better there are more parents here, even with Evie, having a special needs child. ❤️

Wow I didn’t know that about your son. My 13 year old son is nonverbal still. He says mama, daddy, eat and does sign language about 20 words. He also does things in cadence (singsongy) like we say it to him. Things like good morning and I love you. Anyway I could go on and on but I know you know. Xoxo 💜
i was born at 23 weeks. weighed 1 lb 12 oz. everytime i tell someone this i get told "you know how rare you are for that". lol. i suffer from survival guilt everytime i hear it. only thing wrong with me is im deaf in my left ear, i had a heart tie off and a lung value placement. i suffer from severe asthma other then that im fine. 😊🥰
