    I have the Olympica's III and thought they blew away anything from Dynaudio and I have been a fan since the 90's... The Olympica's threw me back in my seat, dealer didn't have access to these, but now does, ordering a pair next week in the Graphite Finish.. Although the wait is going to be an eternity! Great video, on this speaker line!

      Sonus: the final faber. These are the voyages of the star speaker Serafino. It's five year mission: to explore strange new music. To seek out new life and musical genres. To boldly go where no loudspeaker has been heard before!

    I heard the earlier generation and these things sound so “natural”. Not to mention the best looking grills ever in a speaker

    How does the more affordable soletto Vlll’s compare to totems forrest sigs? With Totems latest price hike they seem to be priced similarly yet the solettos seem to give you alot more, …at least visually.

    Love the video's. I can't find much online in way of comparing these to the Olympica Nova III's... I own them in Wenge.... The size of the cabinets is almost identical, I can see the finish differences, but sonically whats different? Are the drivers different?

      Thank you. Olympica Nova III is a personal favorite of many of us. Both are beautiful speakers, but the III's are at almost half the money of Serafino. Listen to both and you'll hear differences in the bottom end, and in the midrange. The drivers are different (new voice coil and spider) and even the cabinet construction is different

    I say its the the EA IIIs or the Maxima Amators. I have the Guarneris in wenge.

    The Reference series is the flagship line not the Homage? Absolutely love these though, in graphite please.

    • @GramophoneMD
      @GramophoneMD  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Homage is considered the flagship "line" because Reference is not so much a line. All of them stand apart and alone. For example there isn't an Aida bookshelf or monitor, or wall mount, or center channel.

    And how are these compared to the beautiful B&W D4s in the back?

    • @GramophoneMD
      @GramophoneMD  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Both are superb, just different. It's not really that one is better or worse, it is just about what you like. Personally I prefer this new Homage line from Sonus faber, however that is simply my personal opinion/preference, take it with a careful grain of salt. You may feel entirely differently.

    I would like to know if the tweeter has a higher sensitivity than those on the Olympics series and l'm also very surprised that these speakers come in standard carton as most speakers in this price range come in wooden crate.

    • @GramophoneMD
      @GramophoneMD  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm not sure about the individual sensitivity on the tweeter off the top of my head, but what I do know is that is basically the tweeter from the Il Cremonese with like two minor differences.

      Come packed very similar to the Olympica line, I am sure to reduce cost in shipping. They are wrapped in cloth and packed very well, I will be getting mine in July! Way too long of a wait, but give me time to get rid of my other gear I don't use.

    For me the prettiest Sonus Faber is the Stradivarius.

      I honest to goodness love them. Listening to the new Amati's while I was at Cedia is one of the best listening experiences I've had in my life.

    The fuck? How much are these speakers? They are absolutely beautiful and the lack of screws on the drivers make for a clean aesthetics. But then they go and have those grille mount holes instead of magnetic grilles. How much are these speakers?

    • @GramophoneMD
      @GramophoneMD  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Serafino is $ 26,000 / pair!

    • @GramophoneMD
      @GramophoneMD  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The grilles kind of aren't. They are art just like the rest of the speaker, made to look like harp strings and they need to be under tension, you use the pegs to stretch them out a bit. That's why they don't have magnets.

    Other than the Aida (my favourite) Sonus Faber speakers just generally look the same.

    But what about the heart of the thing, caps, resistors and copper coils?🫥

      The crossovers are just sublime, also improved and even simplified over last gen which is actually a good thing.

    Why don’t you do a review and comparison ,instead of not offering Anything not already
    Said ,I have yet to see a proper Reba view yet and comparison direct with the original model.
