- Early Entry is back at Disneyland and it's different than how it used to be. Disneyland you to offer Magical Mornings NOW it offers Early Entry and it has a few new surprises on how to get and enjoy it.

We just came back from Disneyland and Universal last week and let me tell ya, these videos were a lot of help. We got some tips & tricks that we didn't know before that helped us on this trip. Can't wait to go back & thank you!!!

Yep, it kind of kills the whole point of it. It's a small perk for massively overspending on lodging while there. Given the demise of fastpass and a lot of the rest of it, this is at best bread crumbs. If you don't mind the flight, some of the foreign Disney parks don't get enough traffic in the morning to require such things, especially if you don't mind making use of the single rider lines. I had a year pass to Hong Kong Disneyland and I'd literally get sick of riding rides before things started to get busy as it's mostly locals that go there.
(Yes, I realize that it's a long flight, but not really that much worse than from the west coast to FL for Disney World, and everything is in English, Mandarin and Cantonese including the jungle cruise ride)
@@SmallSpoonBrigade genie plus replaced fast pass. It works really well, I just used it for 2 days and didnt wait in any line more than 5-10 min
Yeah, I will consider staying at the way over priced Disney hotels when they bring back the entire hour early entry. Until then, I will stay with my favorite hotel that I have been staying at since 1964. Thanks for the look into the empty park though!

Love that they changed it away from park specific days. Not a fan of it only being a half hour now and feel like rebranding away from Magic Mornings was a fail.
You're videos are very informative and entertaining. And I can't tell you how many times Getaway Today has stepped up for us. Not only saving money but giving us a credit on our vacation account even though it wasn't their fault for what happened. We also benefited from them having their offices in northern Utah where we live. We will hopefully be booking SeaWorld and Knott's Berry farm with them soon. Keep up the good work 👍

It's just another cash grab the the Disney corporation to try and justify the ridiculous pricing at their hotels. I'd expect that Walt would be spinning in his grave if he knew how an increasing chunk of Americans are being outright priced out of the park.

Would love to see a video on not doing early entry, like how to rope drop as a guest staying offsite when early entry guests have already been in the park for a half hour.
I love the idea of getting in extra early for the extra special time... but YIKES the costs of the Disney hotels is absolutely insane. I could stay 2 extra nights at a Good Neighbor hotel and go to the park for 2 extra days for the cost of a Disney hotel for one night (depending on the day)... seems better use of my money to go for extra days than an extra half hour.
However, if you can afford the Disney hotel, then the idea of having the park nearly to yourself for a half hour does seem pretty neat. I have (way in the past) gotten to go to Disney on pretty dead days where even mid-day rides like Big Thunder were a walk-on. Was so nice.

We waited over an hour twice for Peter Pan and never got to ride it due to breakdowns. Once we made it on the ride and it broke down with us hovering over London. So glad you shared the ride on here so I could enjoy it!
Must start my comment with a statement. Get Away Today is really GREAT! They saved me so much money on our last trip to Disneyland, that I will now ONLY use them. And haven't stayed at a PARK hotel for...probably...TEN years! And I know how to get in early WITHOUT staying at one of the resort hotels. Yes, I do! It's very simple. You just need a little lumber, some rope, and a good counterbalance. Then you simply assemble a trebuchet with a bucket or scoop large enough for one or two people out on Harbor Boulevard. Should be a cinch. And if you take some confetti and noisemakers, you can say you're just throwing a party.
You totally made my day. And made me laugh. 🤣🤣💚💙 and yes Get Away Today is the BEST!
I have found such an awesome hotel just a 5 min Lyft away.. not sure I’ll ever stay on property again. 🤷🏼♂️

Ok, so I’m going to be a little bit of a negative Nancy here. I’m feeling a bit gipped that only DL Resort hotel guests can get EE and that it’s only 30 min when we got so much more in the past. Now maybe that will change and they are just doing a “soft” opening of it until they get more staff on board and if so I can understand that but with many of the changes Disney and Chapek have implemented, I’m skeptical. Finger crossed though that it changes b/c those resort hotels are way too expensive for my pocket book. Sorry for going the negative route but man I’m just bummed.

My family and I kept looking for you last week Chris. We were at Disneyland & DCA on the 8th & 9th, too. We had to be 5 -10 minutes behind you. Early Entry was great and all of your other videos (especially on Genie +) were a great help. You and Amanda are doing great work!

The one bad part about early entry is everybody seems to rush and speed walk to everything. The streets are nearly empty but no one is taking it in. But...I will say I do love the look of Fantasyland that empty. I can't remember how far back it was when there used to be a real off-season and you'd get views like that. Miss it.

I would love to know where you would go prior to the 8am open time before the rest of the visitors enter to be ready for other rides. Galaxys Edge? Big Thunder? Strategy for after 8am would be great 👌
I'm looking for that too. I wonder if you can head closer to star wars land so you can make it there before the rope drop crowd but no one had addresses this in any video or article I can find. Getting to Rise first would be huge.

And it might as well not exist at all. Have you seen the prices on Disney hotels? You're better off going to Hong Kong Disneyland and then there's no point in early entry, as hardly any of the locals show up before noon.

I'd love to hear about all the things to do around Disney property outside the parks, I know there's mini golf in Disney world but I don't know what else they have to do on non park days with the family.

Chris and Amanda, I watched this video twice so far and thank you for all the EE updates. Get Away Today sounds like a very awesome travel agency and they do some very amazing things. Days like this week when average is going to be mid 90 so better to come early and get to ride all the popular rides fast before massive crowds comes. I really hope they open up at 6AM before time changes.

Last time I was there was Feb. 2020; got in early because of staying at a hotel, but spent most of it trying to get a boarding pass for Rise of the Resistance, which we did. Glad that's not a thing anymore, more or less. Thanks for the video! But we stayed at a neighbor hotel. Sad that the Disneyland Resort only qualifies.

Having had the opportunity to take advantage of early admission I found the best strategy was to hit Racers first, knocking out three rides, within (single rider) fifteen minutes, followed by a speed walk, over to Midway Mania, where you can easily knock out three runs there, and set yourself up for a very quick Incredicoaster run - that’s seven E-Ticket rides, in less than an hour.
Normally, we follow that up with a Grizzly Rapids turn, so we can head upstairs, at DGC, for a shower.
