No hype .. just raw mowing. What do you guys think? For a lawn this long and lush, I think it stripes as good as any other commercial Z I’ve used. The proof is in the pudding they say.
I dig the front end pivot as well. I've got it on my 42" I use, but not cub cadet, technically anyways. Same manufacturer. It's 21 yrs old and a residential mower but still a zero turn and I rock it on my 1/2 acre and up jobs. Thanks for the video and glad they're getting into the pro market.
I'm a big fan and collector of the old Cub Cadets, and now also a proud Scag owner, and this makes me really happy to see CC getting into the commercial game strong.
I just got my Pro Z 900. It is a BEAST! Everything about reeks of industrial grade. It is the return to the IH Cub of years long past, basically my forever mower. I compared it to several $9600 models at big box/outlets and this thing is 3x the machine in the same cost bracket. Oh yeah it has a stripper built in. New CC fanboy here. Oh yeah it comes with 16cc Parkers too boot. Yeah me!!!!
I started my side hustle with a cub cadet resedential 10 years ago it made me a ton of money and to me its kinda cool I still have it as my back up mower. Love the pivoting front it helps me with scalping. Keep up the great videos! Huge fan!
Just a heads up if you make 2 passes around the outline you won have to back up to get the little pieces. I use a simplicity cobalt and it's a beast cuts beautifully.
I have had cub cadets since 1983. The 2060 I bought in 1995 still runs and I do use it occasionally. I currently have a JD 950M and while it is a good mower, I wish I had bought a cub.
As a truck driver air ride seats took a bit of getting use to. But I love them avidly, take all the air out (ride bucket) but after a lawn like that may need a chiropractor.
I agree with the fill cap locations. I’m due to take delivery of my first ztm from cub cadet shortly. Great video, trying to get enough video of how to drive independent wheels.
I'm not a big name professional landscaper but I do it on the side. I currently run a residential Cub ZT2, It's impressed me a lot so far, Cub has really come a long way. I'd love to get my hands on that Pro 960L
I just demoed a cub cadet z made for slopes and it blew my mind. It’s rated for 25* so it won’t fully replace our ventrac 2500s but a z that can double as a slope mower (for the same price)... all day!
Thanks for the demo and your critique. I’ve been wanting to hear you opinion for a long time. Keep up the good work. Just came from the CC dealership. Asked about the discharge shoot blocker, they want $439 for it. Not sure if that includes installation. Wow!
A real good mower! It seems like a beast, stripes well, cuts well, and looks good! I like my ZT2 Ultima! I'd love to try a commercial mower too! I agree, strange place to put the fuel filler. I wouldn't mind given that 960 a mow, id also love to try a Scag Turf Tiger 2. I have seem more commercial guys out this year with Cub Cadet Pro Zs on their trailers!
Looks like a well engineered zero turn and Stripes look great. I am a die hard Cub Cadet fan, mower, edger and 4 cycle straight shaft trimmer. Would love to try this too. I enjoy your channel.
Someone didn't level the yard so well. Thought my yard was bad. Love the lawnmower seems like a well designed unit. How's it cut versus your personal mower.
Dale Nienow .....If you want a great stripe from a residential mower, I would suggest the JD with a bagging system and high lift blades. My stripes are on par with stripes from the commercial guys in neighborhood using exmarks with bagging system. Love the A Aron comment, nice stripes, it seems like a homeowner has to get a commercial grade mower nowadays to get a long lasting mower, residential machines just don’t have the quality anymore!
I have never been a huge fan of Cub Cadet , but Im going to test drive one this next week after watching your last review video. Super excited about it. Was gonna go today but the dealership was close before I got there. Ill come back and let you know what I think in a couple days!👍👍
I have a Cub Cadet ProZ 760l KW 2018 , interestingly enough I noticed they eliminated the Zerk grease fittings on the front spindles , I have them on the run flat wheel front anti scalp wheels and all three blade pulley spindles I prefer grease fittings over the sealed bearings but thats just me.
Hi Brian I have landscaped in the past. I want to start up next year again. In the past I could never get 20 to 25 lawns done everyday. How do you do it, going solo or what is the keys to do it? Thank you. Your posts are awesome
How do you lift the deck to change blades?..... I run Grasshoppers with the front deck with the lifts, and it's a breeze to change blades and keep the decks clean.
As a small engine mechanic I’d say the reason the gas caps aren’t at the top is so that you don’t over fill the tanks and get fuel in the vent lines. It can ruin a charcoal canister and cause a vapor lock preventing it to start. I know that both Snapper and Kubota had some issues with this and those canisters are pricey.
Looking good. Time will tell on the units durability/reliability. I'm going to stick with my Scag and Ferris mowers for the next few years. I loved my Wright for tall grass. It just didn't put down the best stripes.
We aim for 3.25, although a bunch were 3.75 and even 4” last week. We couldn’t keep up. I wish I had a parallel point of view, because this grass was legit 4” tall. We took 3/4” an inch off on one pass and I think it did pretty dang good!
Do you not find yourself leaving ruts from double cutting so much? Honest question? Cause when I try to stripe a yard, if I double cut usually I see ruts. Thanks in advance for your time!
Ive always liked the commercial cubs. Reminds me of how all cubs used to be,tuff. They have cheapen the residential. I do think the latest 2 units are a step in the right path.
Good point on the fuel tanks. With the fill on top, you could easily add almost a gallon of fuel for both tanks. How easy is it to sharpen the blades, or replace?
Just a tip. When running diagonal lines you should start at one of the ends of the lawn and make a diagonal cut at the perimeter and go that way. So then you don’t have to back track and do one side than the other. Just a little faster and efficient
Looks awesome mate. Can't wait to hear more of your thoughts on it when the demo ends. Us Aussies rely a lot on info from the US about these things because so many dealerships are very tightass about doing demos.
are there good zero turn mowers for hills, im in PA and love cub cadet, and was wondering if the zero turn cub cadets would be good. i was looking at the steering wheel style cub cadet rzt mowers.
@@BriansLawnMaintenance okay, thanks. i was just wondering because someone told me that if you have hills companys won't even sell you zero turn mowers.
Love the footage Brian.... So, how do you like the Cub Cadet? It's a tank, I looked at one, but haven't driven one. Would you consider buying one of them if you were in the market again? Great video!
I have a huge relationship with Exmark and my dealer, which sells Exmark.. so that’s a tough question. If my dealer only sold Cub, this would be a fine ztr. It’s a tank
All zero turns use the same kind of transmission, there is just different levels of power and durability I have a cub pro-z 148l with zt3400 commercial pumps it whined for the first 20hrs and then went away normal break-in type thing with them
Brian great video, thanks for posting! What is an OCD? Open close deck? 😂 Serious question though. I run a Ferris 400s 48" and have the same problem of shooting grass clippings everywhere.
I think your going to have to go to the chiropractor afterwards🤔 Brian the bobble head coming to a location near you! Lol! That’s why I use standing mowers. Seems like a nice cut though✌️
Cub cadet pro z vs lazer/z master. Which mower would you choose? I lean toward Exmark/Toro but this cub is impressive and goes good with my xt1 enduro which has been a excellent rider.
@@drewjohnson4673 I don't I use a grandstand 48in and exmark 60in I bag with the aluminum side bag no double cutting only ones that dont get bagged are non fertilized lawns because the mulch feeds the grass...u notice the fertilized lawns get yellow first
Be sure to lower the rear tire pressure to 8 psi. That’ll make a huge difference in ride quality. The seat would probably be better if it had a shock absorber. Air ride seats are not the best if they don’t control the speed of the movement. Kinda like the suspension on our trucks.
No hype .. just raw mowing. What do you guys think?
For a lawn this long and lush, I think it stripes as good as any other commercial Z I’ve used.

Brian's Lawn Maintenance i agree with the stripes ..still not sold on it yet but deff exceeded my expectations.
Great video 👍🏻
Brian's Lawn Maintenance man you are right about that gas tank. They missed out on at least a gallon of gas on each one from the looks of it.
great update! Really looking forward to more info on the Cub

Nice mower dude! Really enjoyed the ride! 😎 I don't mind the bumpiness, that's the good part. The stripes are legit! Keep up the good work!

Hey Brian do you normally add a striping kit to your mowers?
Awesome video and what a great mower would definitely love to get on now 👍👍👍
i just picked up a 2016 cub pro 160 and came with stripping roller just need to put it on what hieth you cutting at on that one
Big difference cutting grass from north vs south. Down here in Georgia Bermuda grass only takes 1 pass mulching at 1 to 2 inches cut height.

Nothing beats an Exmark Lazer
Great follow up video Brian.......Great stripes too.
Holy s that does lay down a clean stripe
Cub's puttin down some righteous stripes!
That mount you have for your camera handled those branches like a champ, didn't even budge!
Does anyone have an opinion on the commercial bad boy line? Cut quality? Customer service?

Laying some nice stripes there, Brian! Interesting hearing the good and bad!
thing stripes awesome man looks like the cub is getting into the commercial lineup!

why do you ride the deck peddle? We just got a ZT mower

Nope not if you continue to switch direction 👊
You like that mower better than the scags?
Lower the deck roller let the deck ride on it..I do it with my exmark makes more solid stripes

Damn that front yard looked bumpy 😂 but maybe it’s just where the camera was ...great video Brian!
No, it’s a mole hill disguised as a lawn lol
Good point on the fuel tanks. With the fill on top, you could easily add almost a gallon of fuel for both tanks.

They’re straight forward, an impact and you’re good to go

Canon 80D and GoPro 7 black

Just depends how the conditions are. Summer every 2 days, spring maybe every day of day and a half
where is the deck adjustment and how does it work? is it a pin or knob?
It’s a pin style on the left side
I definitely felt those tree branches hit me in the face... love the raw footage with the gopro. Keep up the good work man!
Lol I know when I was editing the footage I had knee jerk reactions myself, too funny 😂
What is ocd?

Out of curiosity what has been your favorite mower this far? I’ve had my eye on a gravely for awhile
