It's called follow through. You're right. it is so satisfying. The next few times you walk through the front door - you'll feel it in the best way possible. And when someone leaves something there that does not belong...you just call their name and say "Honey, would you take that to your room, the garage, etc... I don't want it ti get broken or donated by mistake." Personally I have a donation bag by my front door ALL the time. Whenever I come across something I no longer want or does not fit, whatever, I take it directly to that donate bag. Don't think about it again. Love what you're doing - as the kids get older, it really will get a little easier. I promise. Thanks for your positive attitude. you're a great Mom and wife- never doubt it.
We have been tumbling rocks in our basement bathroom for a month!!! 🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️ I bought it for my 8 year old for his birthday. I didn’t read the instructions before purchasing. It has been about 6 weeks but our 1st batch of rocks will be done in a few days!!🎉🎉 I also heard a term for things like the pink basket. It’s a time capsule…….
When decluttering, I find that it helps to add the trip to the donation center to my calendar. That way I can plan my errands most efficiently. If I know I need to go to the bank, for example, I can schedule a stop at the donation center on the way there, since it's along the same route. Otherwise, I will get to the bank and think, "Darn, I could have dropped off those clothes today..."
I once heard that it is actually finishing the project or task all the way through that gives you that motivated feeling and it’s so true! I try to remember that when I start a bunch of little tasks that it’s better to just carry one all the way through and then you’ll be more motivated to keep on going.
I've watched this space get decluttered before and this time it looked so much easier. Reducing the inventory in any space makes resetting it faster and faster. A very satisfying watch. Now I need to go break out the vacuum cleaner, because my hall floor is a mess too.
It has gotten so much easier. It felt so straight forward this time vs. In the past when I look at this stuff and have no idea where to put everything.
Hi Shannon! You have changed so much since you started this series! I love it! You make my day! Funny about the rocks - I’m 63 and still collect different rocks. I have one that is shaped like a banana, heart, the letter J, and a shoe! My granddaughter is four and is mesmerized by rocks as well! ☺️❤️🩷🤍🩵
I am loving this series! So happy you are feeling better and yes, we are all cheering you on!! Glad we can help motivate you like you motivate us! Happy declutter flutter!!! ❤
You did a great job....i loved you aded an applause track when you got the key/mail rack finally humg up 😂 Your channel is always a happy pleasure to watch ❤❤❤❤ God Bless you, and your whole family ❤🙏
This is a friendly reminder to declutter your craft, game and everything else closet. In the summer it was to warm to declutter, and you asked us to remind you in the colder months. If it is not you, I am sorry. (But I think it is.) 😊
I’ve used your decluttering system before! 😂 Can you make entry tidy a daily job for someone? That’s what we do with areas that get crazy everyday. So helpful. Great work, Shannon!! 🎉
The entry looks awesome! You are doi g amazing. Great job on the pink basket also! 💖 If I put something to be forgotten in my trunk, I also put a post-it on my steering wheel to remember it. Plus, writing it down on that post-it helps me to remember also.
This series is awesome. It taught me to rejoice in the job done and not dwell on those still to be done. Small steps big reward. Thank you Shannon for being real. 💜Heather
You can get some little hooks to hang the basket from since the screw holes won't work now (can you tell I wrote that before you found the white hook thing that was included?). In the future, a manual long-handled screwdriver would do the trick where the drill can't fit! A tip for hammering in the little nail things you couldn't reach with the white hook: get a block of wood or something and put it against the nails and hit the block of wood instead. Much easier to aim.
When my kids were young they used to collect sticks of all length. I always had sticks laying at our front door. 😅 The moment you broke the key thing. 😂
My son loved his rock tumbler and had it going constantly in our garage for about a year- he broke the band that came with it. He still uses it upon occasion and tries to fashion his own band to keep using it. He’s the 1/100 I guess.
Paint the white hooks the same color as the wall. Oh my, I got a good laugh at a pocket full of cow patties😂 Great motivation and accomplishment in such a short time!, nice job!
My daughter (13) has a little box full of stones she collected when she was in primary school - she kept coming back with rocks in her coat pocket or her backpack. She just won’t get rid of them. Still is her little treasure. 🤷🏻♀️
If that was a permanent black sharpie on the kitchen island, you could try using it on the white grippers for the key basket. It might work to cover for now until you locate some acrylic paint.
You often need to go back there to reset. Besides the decluttering you've done, which helps enormously, you might need additional storage there. Besides the hooks you use for backpacks and the bins for shoes, coats, scarves, gloves also need a place. Maybe more hooks or small cubbies?
I needed some laughs today and you did it for me! I was laughing so hard when you used the power tool as this is exactly what I would do. The cow patty story was hilarious! You always motivate me as I am purging and cleaning. I am next going to do my clothes closet, if it doesn't fit today it is out of here! Can't wait for your next video I am a follower from Maine
Great job! My entry is packed full of mail and recycling and shredding that I need to sort and do. 😢 (And find all my tax related info.) I think I will tackle it today. Ps screw type cup hooks should work for your key wire bin. They might also work for your security? or internet box? Keep going!!! Big hugs! Em❤❤❤❤
Im coming off ten weeks of bedrest and a herniated disk. My entryway looks just like yours. I did fifteen minutes of papers instead though because im not quite ready physically for the entry. Bith your space and mine look so much better, so thank you. ❤
You are doing so good. Eric's room looks awesome. Now the entryway does too. I love your videos. So, proud of you. Thanks Eric for putting a smile on my face. He is a sweetie
It seems you have about one hook for each family member. I’d suggest assigning one hook to each person, then each have the space for one bag-item and one jacket-item. Hanging more would make it clunky and perhaps trigger wanting to put extra items away? I’m not sure the theory is sound, but worth a try 😊🤷♀️
I loved this video, and the whole take back your home series! Your sense of humor is awesome, and I was laughing at that whole “Hulk Shannon” part right out loud, and woke my dog up! Thank you for taking the time to make these videos, and keeping it real. You’re one of my very favorite TH-camrs.
Amazing quick transformation! I watched the remodel video on it before. It’s just a constant job unfortunately, but we’ll worth it in the end. I love your house❤
1. Bags still in trunk? 😁 (A sub category here are the little FREE libraries around town. Got quite the load accumulating in trunk to drop off...) 2. Pretty polish color 3. Rock tumbler. Appreciate the reminder 🙅♀️
Go, Shannon, go! You can do it! It is also a struggle for me to actually donate the stuff designated for donation. Thanks for the tips. You actually really do have some good ones 👍
Great declutter Shannon! I was a rock collector as a kid...I still am as an adult. My youngest is also a rock collector. And my grand is too. However - they have gotten into gemstone hunting...still rock collecting. Once you figure out when you are looking at...it's even more fun. Rock tumbling is a long game - you have to have the right mindset for it (and put it outside or in the garage).
Your cow patty story is too funny! My kids would've done the same. You're doing a great job. I love how your kids will come help. Eric loves the camera, that cutie. I'm glad you feel inspired by us. Wishing you only the best always. Take care, Linda 🦋

I so love seeing your home go from wrecked to tidy and lovely. Mine is the same.
Well done, Team Leaf!

That cow patty story was priceless! LoL
The three steps are hilarious. Thanks for sharing!

Cow patties…I was laughing out loud 😂. I’m 67 and still pick up rocks along Lake Superior😉I love how you keep it real.
Love this series…great job 😊❤️

That was me 😬😬😬 I do need to get in there.
@@LeafLikeOnATree yey. I look forward to the video. 😁. Even if you don't... 😉
First - you and your Boo are both looking fabulous! And that was a very satisfying see-too, thank you 😊😊
Getting stuff out the door is quite the challenge over here too. 😂
Look at how fast you did that compared to when you first showed us your entryway declutter. You have made huge progress!
🐄 💩 and the hulk 😂😂. Well done it’s looking great 👏👏👏

Even a black sharpie would do the trick.

I love watching your videos ! You are real life ! You are so motivating ! Even if it is 1 hour better !
🤣 I will have donations and returns for weeks in the back of my SUV 🤣 At least I’m not the only one 😂
Paint the white hooks the same color as the wall. Oh my, I got a good laugh at a pocket full of cow patties😂
Great motivation and accomplishment in such a short time!, nice job!
Looks great! I felt myself exhale at the result and I don't even live in your house!
Woooohooo! Well done. A big difference. We have to include the entryway in our five minute pick up EVERY night.

Such a great declutter!!
You have a lovely home you are very blessed. Thank you for sharing and loving this series 🤓🇬🇧💜💐

Love your simple 3 step decluttering process 😂
I’m am loving this series! Wow your entryway looks so good! Love your sense of humor! 😊💕- Joanna
I loved how excited you got on having it echo in your space 😁
If that was a permanent black sharpie on the kitchen island, you could try using it on the white grippers for the key basket. It might work to cover for now until you locate some acrylic paint.
I cant tell you enough how you make my heart happy and a smile on my face!! Thank you. I look forward to your videos. 💛💚 from Wisconsin
That Entryway! Yikes!! You can do it!!!!❤❤❤
Hello, the cow patty gave me a chuckle. Hopefully, they were dry and not fresh!🤣💛
Thankfully dry 😂 They were gray and hard just like a rock. Very deceiving.
I’m enjoying this series! Thank you! 😊
You are doing a great job, love the series ❤. Use s black sharpie on the white hooks = instant gratification

Get ‘er done🧹🧼🪣
Good job. Take pride in your accomplishments.
Great job! I have a suggestion, if you have black nail polish, you could cover the white hangers with it.
I look forward to your videos each week! Doing great a great job declutter . Areas look so amazing afterwards!!😀
Im coming off ten weeks of bedrest and a herniated disk. My entryway looks just like yours. I did fifteen minutes of papers instead though because im not quite ready physically for the entry. Bith your space and mine look so much better, so thank you. ❤
Good morning! Following your lead and clearing my clutter today along side you Shannon🎉
You are doing so good. Eric's room looks awesome. Now the entryway does too. I love your videos. So, proud of you. Thanks Eric for putting a smile on my face. He is a sweetie
Nice job! 😄
Fun to watch the transformation. 👏
Hi Shannon 😊❤ I would just touch up those white hanging thingies with the same black chalk paint you have on the wall. 😊
It seems you have about one hook for each family member. I’d suggest assigning one hook to each person, then each have the space for one bag-item and one jacket-item. I enjoyed your video I am trying to take my home back and letting go of a lot so thank you so until next video may God bless you and your family

Thank you for taking the time to make these videos, and keeping it real. You’re one of my very favorite TH-camrs.
lol, years ago I fell for the rock tumbler 😂
😂
If you got a rug or runner for entryway, it might absorb some of the echo.
I love watching this! Great job!!!
Great job and love you Shannon! 😊
Amazing quick transformation! I watched the remodel video on it before. It’s just a constant job unfortunately, but we’ll worth it in the end. I love your house❤
I’m glad you did the entryway. You were hilarious and you fought through every obstacle. Great job.
1. Bags still in trunk? 😁
(A sub category here are the little FREE libraries around town. Got quite the load accumulating in trunk to drop off...)
2. Pretty polish color
3. Rock tumbler. Appreciate the reminder 🙅♀️
I really enjoy this new series 😊

Great job Shannon
Go, Shannon, go! You can do it! It is also a struggle for me to actually donate the stuff designated for donation. Thanks for the tips. You actually really do have some good ones 👍
❤️❤️❤️
You can use a nail set to nail those white things. It’s metal and kind of like a golf tee. You hit the wide end and the narrow end pushes the nail in.
That’s a great idea!
Good job on hanging the basket!
Great declutter Shannon! I was a rock collector as a kid...I still am as an adult. My youngest is also a rock collector. And my grand is too. 10: 42 the phone under the door😂😂😂
Shannon and her shenanigans 😂
I fell for the “Pet Rock” fad!
Your cow patty story is too funny! My kids would've done the same. You're doing a great job. I love how your kids will come help. Eric loves the camera, that cutie. I'm glad you feel inspired by us. Wishing you only the best always. Take care, Linda 🦋
Good job with your decluttering and cleaning up love from Eugenie your friend xxx 💕🏡🌟🔔
