10 years old today, wow!
happy birthday yuuh!
👏
Still rockin your old jamz
Forever a classic.
still amazing
this is weirdly more relevant as it got older
This song needs to get recommended by the big TH-cam Algorithm
@@ELBARTOmovies Already knew this song but I'm here again from the algorithm!
Their songs are relevant as they speak about capitalism and shitty governments
Sean Holdscroft ahead of their game mate
The whole album is even more relevant now than when it was released.
7 years later and we are still arguing with thermometers.
Science is pure and the government would never lie to you.
@UCyf67C8aVVmuf6zgodYB8Ig science is peer reviewed and has little to do with government you fucking loser
Its still a battle 3 years later
@@thepiedish903 If only we could go back in time to the time when the climate didnt change.
Don't look up, the movie is a great example of this lol
these guys don't even have a genre anymore. so fucking original. quality band since day one. reinventing daringly. I love em.
So fucking original the say you love em you my friend ave issues haha but nah quality band like you say :P
+Nathan Hanley umm.. Eeh?
He said so fucking original an that they dont ave a genre anymore but says he loves them at the end so was just saying he has issues lol i was stoned when i wrote this haha
Nathan Hanley I've gotta admit mate, even I'm a little confused by that comment
+Nathan Hanley I understand what you both mean. He's saying they are so original and he means that they don't base their music off of other bands. And they don't have a genre, he means that they have their own genre.
LYRICS.
This is an expedition,
Into the Arctic tundra.
This is a sickening mission,
Just to spoil and plunder.
That's the sound of another door shutting,
in the face of progress, in the face of progress.
They'll plant their flags in the sea bed,
Shackleton is rolling in his grave.
That's the sound of another door shutting,
in the face of progress, in the face of progress.
They'll plant their flags in the sea bed,
Shackleton is rolling in his grave.
Yeah, yeah, yeah,
We're all addicted to the most abused and destructive drug of all time,
And I ain't talking about class As, that business is minuscule when compared.
And just like any addict desperate to get his next fix,
We resort to committing crimes to secure our next hit.
You know there's oil in the ice.
You know there's oil in my eyes.
You know there's blood on my hands.
Yeah! We're all addicted.
Yeah! We're all dependent.
That's a maniac stand point.
Psychotic outlook.
That's a maniac stand point.
Psychotic outlook.
So let me get this straight, as we witness the ice caps melt,
instead of been spurred into changing our ways,
we're gonna invest in military hardware to fight for the remaining oil that's
left beneath the ice?
What happens when it's all gone?
You haven't thought this through, have you boys?
We'll take you down!
We'll take you down!
We'll take you down!
Stand your ground!
You know there's oil in the ice.
You know there's oil in my eyes.
You know there's blood on my hands.
Yeah! We're all addicted.
Yeah! We're all dependent.
That's a maniac stand point.
Psychotic outlook.
That's a maniac stand point.

Yeah, back to the drawing board boys.
Accept nothing short of complete reversal.
Dig deep.
WE NEED IT NOW!!!
They're honestly genius.
What I love about Shikari is that, even though they talk about very serious issues, they aren't up their own asses or trying to be edgy as fuck (unlike many extreme metal bands or horrorcore artists, despite my love for them).
They're a band of funny lads. A band of politically aware, funny lads.
+michaelangelo323 and yet we still sit on our hands doing nowt...clock be ticking and Im a hypocrite
+3tangle3 hahaha this comment made my day
+3tangle3 We just need to fucking erupt. Any day now. ...Just... ff...erupt....
"We are nice guys, until we are not"
lol
Decapitated Cattle I fully agree! The way they can put comedy over some of the most serious issues we are dealing with as a planet and yet still get there very clear message across! This is 100 percent a group of funny lads with some serious smarts! "A smart man can act a fool but a fool can't act a smart man"
Does anyone else find it really funny at 0:25 when Rou changes the camera he looks into
Yup
best bit of the video man, i keep rewinding :D
Gotta love the drummer doing the weather !!!
Ryan Bird Hhahaha I do!
it's silly, but yes.
I really wish there was a shikari news channel
Lead singer to drummer: "You're breathtaking!"
Drummer points back at lead singer: "No, YOU'RE breathtaking!".
It's impossible not to find Robs Grin Breathtaking
Machine Zero indeed...indeed.
'you haven't thought this through have you boys?' - brilliant.

3 VISÃO p
The problem I have with ES is that I go to listen to this song and get tempted to listen to a load more! Love ya Shikari!
this album is criminally underrated
Possibly my favourite music video of all time. Certainly one with meaning that I resonate deeply with, and with a great sense of humour.
I love the way they dance/do their Shikari step \o/. It's a song with a really serious message but you can see they are having so much fun.
Literally the Main Stream Media, This track is ESSENTIAL to the world today. Keep this up, never stop making music!
MSM and right wing media*
The biggest climate change denial comes from "alternative news" which is outside the MSM and pushing a right wing view of the world.
i love how happy their drummer is to be drumming.
Newscore!...
shikaricore
+XxxRaeRajxxX NEWS STEP (dubstep mixed with news)
I really love this song :), The drummer is also funny at points,It makes me laugh! :D
+XxxRaeRajxxX Also applies to some songs from Trivium's album The Crusade!
I love how that guitarist is doing random shit while there's that "dubstep" part.
Filip Spacek that’s Rory C. He is preparing his thesis
@@battmarn I can't fucking believe it
1:32 lmao that part really got me!
What a fucking gem of a band. i can't believe i wasn't aware of their existence until now.
those little turns to the camera at the start kill me every time :')
As a 55 year old man it gladden's my cynical heart to read the positive comments about this virtuoso band, seen them a couple of times, stood at the back as I'm an old fucker, but they give me hope that musicianship, lyrics, politics can meld together in a beautiful way that STILL makes me want to lose my shit....& I'm not talking TENA underwear
these guys are so fucking cool and have such a diverse sound.
I like how good of a time the drummer is having.
The guitarrist dancing at 1:40 so fucking funny... Makes me wanna try to do it too!
thats Rory C for ya :P
This is insane.....why have I only just discovered this.
still here in may 2016. still a top quality tune
Amazing lyrics and absolute BEST song name! That's what made me click, and so happy I did!
It's crazy this was 11 years ago, the album still rings true.
Found them today through Ben McLeish. I don't usually like growl but I love this song. Catchy chorus, charismatic performance and a provoking and meaningful message. I've been missing that combination in new music for years, so I'm really glad to have found some. A big thumbs up from here.
By the way, Rou Reynolds (the singer posing as an anchorman in this video) recently held a talk about their music and their view on music in society that I think was pretty cool. Here it is:

Rou Burgundy
Cannonball!!
This song always got a 10/10 from me with those dubstep drops/breakdowns. Mixed with the thrashy verses and the upbeat dancey type chorus... Enter Shikari are the most creative band that I had the pleasure to listen to
Happy birthday Phillis
I absolutely fucking love this band! Been listening to them for more than 15 years now. And the fact that they made a song about one of my dearest and also most worrying topics, just makes them even more awesome! Love them!
I adore this band!!! They're the first band to come out in ages that have tried (and succeeded) to have their own sound
I
How i not found these fine lads earlier great stuff man
Those little shrugs at 1:43 😂
Still one of my favorite songs
Stand Your Ground!!!
This song is absolutely fantastic. One of the best songs I've ever heard 👂
Remains my favourite song of Shikari to this day, and the music video is just SO GOOD
YEAH YEAH YEAH
Oh yes Phillis, yeeeesss, let me kiss your moustache.
Whisper sweet nothings of journalistic bias into my delicate ears you great beast.
lmao!! I'll get in line. 😂
Hannah Hobolibra, is that you?
cracking track. One of those that you're so very very glad you've rediscovered!
This is awesome and Enter Shikari they should do a video like this on the British government who are worse, imagine Enter Shikari on and do a video on Boris Johnson, Rishi Sunak and other party members about what they talk about
that bass line at the end is just... god it's perfect!
i just looked up this band like 10 minutes ago because someone told me they were their favorite band... where has this band been all my life and what rock have i been hiding under? they are about to be my new favorite band.
this becomes more relevant every year. west of germany got flash flooded, when will we finally act and change how we live?
this video is pure gold
Best shikari video
OMG, it's the Triforce! D:
How is this even possible!!! Every genre, every song, every lyric... just perfect and amazing every time. Can't get enough of this band 😍🎶
1:25 dat beat and bass, so good! haha
Back to Rob with the weather! 0:31
absolutely amazing!
I just found these amazing guys today and I absolutely love them! This and snake pit are my favorite songs so far :)
They really are like a great wine. Sure they were good when they started but damn as the years and days go by they just mature into something better.
can someone please hack BBC 4 and broadcast this just as the news comes on? just to to be fucking amazing XD
1 of the only bands i still listen to almost daily for almost 15years you. you guys really changed my view on alot of stuff.Raising a Petition to let them play after the next revolution
Best song from Enter Shikari
how is this 8 years old 😳
it’s still brilliant
the drummer is an amazing actor
Love this chorus.
can't stop watching
such a jam
0:26 Chris, what beautiful eyes!:)
Still one of the best shikari videos ever
You guys! This Album! It is the best! I love the sound and the meaning of the whole album! YOU GUYS KEEPS GETTIN' MORE AWESOME!
- love from Denmark!
Over 9 years after this is still up to date. That is fucking sad.
1:25 SICK!
all these years later, still an absolute banger, good music never gets old
Always been a fan of Enter Shikari, ever since the Take To The Skies album. Return To Energizer and Arguing With Thermometers are the best songs.
Nothing like a Saturday morning and catching up on every ES mv you for some reason never saw after rewatching Dreamers Hotel. Can we bring back the stash Rou? lmao
How many subliminal shikari triangles did you see in this video?
+the mad ginger If you can see it, it's not subliminal.
+the mad ginger 10 I never counted im guessing lol im to into the song to watch for triangles
just saw you in a serj video
Like the rest of the video being a parody, the triangles everywhere may have been mocking all the useless junk the "news" broadcasts have at the bottom of the screen and the rotating "news" logo
I have a theory, i think the repeated occurences of the triangular logo with the words "ENTER SHIKARI" inside could be related to promoting the band who made this song. Wait no wouldn't that make them part of the capitalist machine they so endearingly rant about?
I can't stop listening to this!
This video never fails to bring a smile to my face!
That beat at 1:25 though, such goosebumps, wow.
+David Pieterse very grimy DnB
THAT BASS AT THE END OH SHIT
There is great honest meaning in their amazing tunes.
This song gets better and better with every listen
Until I saw these guys at reading festival this weekend I never realised how political they were... And that this song is about global warning
Your medal will be in the post shortly
*Slow clap* thank you. Youre like the one in most of this buttknockers who could not get the freaking meaning.
Did all the lyrics screaming about progress, oil, ice caps and capitalism not give it away a teeeeeeeeeny fucking bit?
um, "as we witness the ice caps melt"?
Is must be difficult to be soooo high all the time.
seeing these in Manchester in about 2 hrs and 30 mins :D
awesome!
my favorite band
love, love, love, love, loooooove!!!!!
Bruh this gets more relevant each year
I would watch this program))
The dance move by Rou at 2:19 is superb. Have used this at the live show.
I 100% agree. They're their own monster, literally no other bands have a sound like this.
Reminds me of Ron Burgundy at the beginning :)
0:24 makes me laugh every fucking time
it's unreal that this is 5 years old, still feels like it wasn't long ago that it was released
one fave vidz this year

This was just awesome
I love this chorus.

This needs to be North Dakota's theme song
