I tumbled upon Pabst during my Miami vacation and filled my luggage with it in order to use up the max allowed weight on my flight back to Europe where I gave it to some family beer experts. They were thankful for my gift and said it was a fine drinkable beer with a pleasant aftertaste and enough gas. Besides they appreciated the 24 oz cans saying this beer lasts long enough to quench their thirst:)
I think I need to do a blind taste test with this and some other macros. People keep telling me that it tastes better, but I think it would blend in amongst other similar adjunct lagers.
This is definitely my favorite beer. it is my go to beer that I always have on me at home, by the pool, or at the bar. I will drink yuengling if a bar does not have this beer, but I first try for this.
Being from Quebec, craft beer have been popular for a long time. That's what I reach for when I want to savour a beer. But if I am working around the house or going to a gathering, PBR gets picked up 8 times out of 10 over any other macro brewery beers. It's the best tasting cheap beer on the market in my opinion.
You can only get it through Superior Beverage Group, which is in Columbus, Cleveland and Mansfield. They are the only ones that sell it. They sell it in 24 pack of bottles for around $20.
My favorite adjunct lager is Grain Belt Premium, PBR is decent. I am thinking of buying some Schlitz Gusto Classic 60's formula. Have you had a chance to try it?
I never understood this "hipster" shit, I like PBR cause it's just as affordable as Steel Reserve and Natural Ice, but tastes comparable to the more expensive lagers.
Yep, I live in Ohio. It's available in most package stores in Columbus, and available in the rest on special order. Shout out to Blacklick Wine and Spirits on the East Side.
I enjoy Tripels and Stouts. I love the Chimay and Allagash Tripels, and really enjoy Guinness Foreign Extra Stout, Founders Breakfast Stout, and Smiths Oatmeal. Great Divide imperial is great as well.
PBR is pretty good if you ask me. It's pretty crisp and for it's price it's got plenty of flavor and drink ability for me personally. I've got to give it a 6 myself, even though the other guys I review with gave it 8s. I just can't give it an 8 myself though.
@albedo0point39 Shipped from Germany? That's dedication. This is just a so-so beer, but it is a decent session beer for a tailgate or something like that. Do you "tailgate" in the UK?
After watching the review it makes sense to rate beer in categories or styles. But how to fit this in your format this late in the game? Very good review overall! My go to is Yuengling Black and Tan.
By the way NEWARK has the water. Ballantine, Kruegar, Pabst, Budweiser, Fiegenspan, Hensler to name a few were / are brewed there. Rheingold a NY beer, moved to nearby Orange , NJ and Trommers in Harrison, NJ, same water.
There is a bar in town that sells this beer for $.50 on Monday nights, $2.50 for a pitcher. So awesome. Plus this beer is WAY better than almost every other American Lager.
Bartender said we got pbr and bud select on tap for a dollar each. Im choosing pbr every time. Plus it taste much better on tap than in can like most beers. If you haven't tried it on tap and have a bad opinion about it the find a place that has it on tap. It will change your mind. Only thing I'm picking over this in a bar is a sam adams cold snap or boston lager
well if you like lager, Ribbon is not bad at all. LAger is generally EZPZ to make... Most taste same and people cant really tell difference with lager. It's just the ale that make people think it's sweet or it's bitter which makes differencee.
Yeah, I like it. I bought an 18 pack for 11 bucks earlier tonight. Budweiser is 15 bucks for an 18 pack at the same store! (Walmart in FL.) It just hurts to pay that price for an 18 pack when there's another beer on the shelf that I like just as much as the other one.
@WehrmachtLuftwaffe I agree. People should drink what they like and not worry about what other people like. I only brought up the hipster thing because that is an important part of the resurgence of Pabst Blue Ribbon.
@AgileHProductions That's probably a tie between warsteiner and lienenkugel original. I know those aren't really expensive but they are like 7 or 8$ for a six pack by me where as PBR is like 12 or 13$ for a case of 30.
@CheertoBeers Overall, we don't know enough about styles to really rate every beer by style. However, we do have some background expertise in the American Adjunct Lager category. :)
@pizzaman123 You have to remember that when we started the show none of us had any beer experience. Our mission wasn't to promote craft beer. It was to talk about all different beers whether we liked them or not. However, in the course of trying all these beers we've discovered tons of craft beers that we love and our tastes have changed a lot. And, we've turned a lot of fizzy, yellow beer drinkers into craft beer drinkers because they like our laid-back unpretentious approach.
@CraigKramer Are you a big Chimay fan? You seem to have taken that one really personally. I think Chef may have been a little off on that one, but he is not a bad person.
12 or 18 pack every week; tastes great even after warming a pretty good bit. On a real good day i'd swear it has a little saison tinge to it. Good work boys and tell Miller Lite guy to chill! LOL
Why not? We do all sorts of beers from the best in the world to the worst. I think doing varying qualities of beer helps keep it all in perspective. Drinking a bad beer every now and then makes the good beers seem extra good.
It's not a time or place beer, it's a "how many quarters can you find in the couch" beer. I say that with super love for PBR.

Best cheap beer of all time.
Hipster shit be damned, its pretty good, and its cheap so...... win.
That picture is priceless lol. Vintage beer ads are the best.
Its a good beer. Drink it frequently.
It is an awesome beer 🍺
THAT GUY IS GETTING SO UPSET LMAOO
My favorite beer
@CraigKramer No worries. I hope you will continue to watch. We have come a long way in our beer journey, but still have a long way to go.
I think I need to do a blind taste test with this and some other macros. People keep telling me that it tastes better, but I think it would blend in amongst other similar adjunct lagers.
Thumbs up if you watched this video while drinking a PBR.
+basportsfan oh ya bud.
+Drew H.
I'm with ya!
+basportsfan I just do this because I'm curious about what others think of my shitty beer choices.
All the time!
This is definitely my favorite beer. it is my go to beer that I always have on me at home, by the pool, or at the bar. I will drink yuengling if a bar does not have this beer, but I first try for this.
It drinks well, priced well and the history is there! First beer in a can, red, White and blue label. I like it.
Were they really first Beer in a can ? Thanks.
Being from Quebec, craft beer have been popular for a long time. That's what I reach for when I want to savour a beer. Thanks! What are some of your other favorites?
I like Pabst. For what it is, it deserves a better rating than Bud.
Have you had Yuengling? I think their porter or black n tan are a "good bang for your buck" beer.
@AgileHProductions Union trouble. So, they solved that issue by outsourcing. It's more efficient, anyway.
You can only get it through Superior Beverage Group, which is in Columbus, Cleveland and Mansfield. They are the only ones that sell it. They sell it in 24 pack of bottles for around $20.

@SoLiDJinZo Thanks for watching the whole episode!
I Love PBR and its even better on tap, thanks for the review !
I agree with your assessment. However, I did pick up Pabst as a cheap session beer last weekend. Does that make me a hypocrite?
Thanks. We like your comments.
How do you think the beer should be poured?
How should it have been poured in your opinion?
A quintessential AAL. There's a reason it's been around since 1844
I never understood this "hipster" shit, I like PBR cause it's just as affordable as Steel Reserve and Natural Ice, but tastes comparable to the more expensive lagers.
Thnx for the review!! This Miller High Life and Rolliing Rock were my fave macrobrews in the 80s! Have a great 4th of July too!
Yep, I live in Ohio. It's available in most package stores in Columbus, and available in the rest on special order. Shout out to Blacklick Wine and Spirits on the East Side.
The greatest thing about PBR is that it's cheap beer.
Cheap yet quality beer.
@XtianFreak I need to check that out. Was PBR a big part of it?
@brandon0409 I thought that was odd too. That's why I pointed it out.
best beer cheap and delicious every day pbr
Miller Light over PBR ? you don't like the taste of beer
@brandon0409 Got it. Thanks for the explanation. I would hate for you to miss out on some of the tasty imported beers.
This is the best BBA episode
@MrDonamus Does the liquor store you work at have a good beer selection?
What about underwater? Is it great underwater?
my go to 12 pack when I'm short on money for the week.
I haven't seen that in the store for a while. I wonder if it's still sold in Ohio.
Interesting. I've really enjoyed Sam Adams Imperial Series. I think the Wee Heavy is pretty good.
There has definitely been a resurgence of people who appreciate this fine beer.
good beer....
drank 9 of these last night. woke up feeling fresh.I love it
Hasn't the price gone up in the last couple of years? How much do you pay for it?
How would you describe it?
I enjoy Tripels and Stouts. I love the Chimay and Allagash Tripels, and really enjoy Guinness Foreign Extra Stout, Founders Breakfast Stout, and Smiths Oatmeal. Great Divide imperial is great as well.
Love the bucks hat! Also, hanging out in Morrill tower, drinking PBR, watching the basketball tournament. best. day. ever.
What do you normally drink?
What kind of beer do you like to drink?
What kind of beer is it?
You can't get a 30 rack of PBR in Chicago for 11.99 all day and night.
On a sale sometimes you can find it for 9.99
PBR is pretty good if you ask me. It's pretty crisp and for it's price it's got plenty of flavor and drink ability for me personally. I've got to give it a 6 myself, even though the other guys I review with gave it 8s. I just can't give it an 8 myself though.

I hate beer snobs. Drink what you want to drink.
@BootyFreak69 Where do you buy Old Style? State? I haven't seen it in a while.
@StumpyJoeJr I'll have to go check out the latest South Park episode. Was it about PBR?
@40ozkingcobra Not King Cobra?
After watching the review it makes sense to rate beer in categories or styles. But how to fit this in your format this late in the game? Very good review overall! My go to is Yuengling Black and Tan.
IT'S A GOOD CHEAP BEER. BEATS THE HOLY HELL OUT OF BUSH!
Yuengling is big in Ohio these days. It's only been here about a year.
@wildbilltexas When I'm in Texas I'm drinking Shiner.
Love me some PBR
There is a bar in town that sells this beer for $.50 on Monday nights, $2.50 for a pitcher. So awesome.
Plus this beer is WAY better than almost every other American Lager.
What do you drink?
If your on budget and like to get a good buzz after work definitely go with this beer.
PBR is not a hipster beer.
Review Earthquake High Gravity Lager.
(can't wait to see that one...)
@Livelifechill What's your favorite expensive beer?
Pabst is the best beer when compared to the Big 3's
Bartender said we got pbr and bud select on tap for a dollar each. Im choosing pbr every time. Plus it taste much better on tap than in can like most beers. Where did you go ever the beer on tap was $1.00 please i need to know that's amazing never been anywhere where the beer is $1 on tap !!!!!
Stephanie Piña
maybe in texas near college? lol... not sure
Stephanie Piña Hamburger Joes in Myrtle Beach South Carolina !
@gez1308 I need to catch a replay of that.
Is that ABV or ABW? The numbers are different.

@257milo Rating by style is definitely one way to go. We don't have enough experience to do that very well.
What is wrong with the pour? Even the "experts" don't agree on how to pour. Also, pouring etiquette can vary by style and brand. Give us some advice.
@CheertoBeers Overall, we don't know enough about styles to really rate every beer by style. However, we do have some background expertise in the American Adjunct Lager category. :)
Great review to style for an AAL, nice!
@khunopie I like your play on words.
Was it delicious?
Great for what it is. I would def. pick this up over Coors, Bud, Molson ect.
@pizzaman123 You have to remember that when we started the show none of us had any beer experience. Our mission wasn't to promote craft beer. @HeyJoeHaze Yeah. I think it has. It's not the cheapo beer it once was. The hipsters raised the demand for the product.
In Canada BPR is known as a cheap beer for first years in university, it's so weird to hear you guys calling it an old-man / hipster beer
The comment about his first drink from his dad, the exact thing happened to me. Thanks for reminding me. Blue Ribbon!
@AgileHProductions Sort of. It plays a role in the episode. You can watch it southparkstudios.
LOL
You are quite the Old Style expert!
Is Pabst sold in Europe? I wanna try it.
thanks for the review... excellent show!!!
Drinking it right now damn good for the money when compared to possible alternatives.
@millerhighlife2112 What? You weren't drinking living the High Life?
By far my favorite adjunct. I haven't tried Fosters, Rolling Rock, Red Stripe etc. mind you, but thus far PBR is my adjunct of choice.
I loved sipping beer as a toddler! I think P.B.R. is one of the better beers, as per American-style lager.
Why not? We do all sorts of beers from the best in the world to the worst. I think doing varying qualities of beer helps keep it all in perspective. Drinking a bad beer every now and then makes the good beers seem extra good.
