I drove a 680 at my last company. The turning radius is legit on em. The view is WAY better than a freightliner. You can blind side without having to move mirrors all around. I miss driving the 680. My only complaint was the cup holder. It has a edge on it and I have a bad habit of resting my leg against the dash by the petals...and didn’t feel good lol.
They are so alike because Peterbilt and Kenworth are built from the same company. Just like Volvo owns Mack. Freightliner and Western Star are under same ownership.
Nice 680. The freightliners do have the rear escape doors. Must just be an add on like the side storage boxes. Should be a standard thing although. Stay safe driver
I always wondered something about the APU. Can they be tampered with while you’re sleeping? Could someone do that? Sorry I have no trucking experience so this could be a silly question. I heard that someone did something and put knockout gas or something into the guys truck while he was sleeping and they stole his load. Weird stories I read on Facebook.
Jeffro1277 I don’t know, that seems like a heck of a story though!!! I do know there’s a kill switch on the outside and have heard of drivers waking up to the APU being off.
If somebody wants you out of the way they don’t need the apu. They can just shoot through the bunk window and through the top of your head. Lol yea I think if that when I’m parked by myself in the middle of nowhere. But I’m not paranoid about that. I’m more scared of the monsters that live out in the dark areas.

@@CrazyBags I guess its like all the new performance cars going with the direct shift, dual clutch transmissions phasing out the manual ones. Still, are these full automatic transmissions as reliable as the old ones? Do these automatics have like 18 speeds?
Even heavy haul trucks are going automatic. I currently drive for ATS and all of their new heavy haul trucks are automatics from what they are telling me. Personally i love automatics although i have driven 8, 10, 13 and 18 speed manual. It's just easier all around especially in heavy traffic and back ups.

Drove a 2017 T680 and it was virtually identical to this truck. Beautiful truck/interior.

And depending on the sub model they have a factory subwoofer under the bunk ad well.

Cool yeah I read all kinds of nonsense about truck driving and it doesn’t always seem believable. So many forums on Facebook.

Why do ppl run the super singles. For me I dint like the way it looks but idk I just don’t like it, I live the truck but not with the singles
