In the past, dehydrating for the weigh-in and then rehydrating was more dangerous. Technology has made dehydrating and rehydrating much easier and safer. Rehydrating/ballooning to 1 or more weight classes above your opponent is essentially asking a naturally smaller fighter to fight a much larger fighter. It’s bullshit and dangerous for the smaller fighter. If a boxer can’t meet the rehydration clause requirements, he’s needs to box at a higher weight. Weight bullies are bad for boxing.
IBF rehydration rule explained for dummies for the... 150th time. The IBF has a second weigh in, the day of the fight, yes, it's in the early morning. It means that the fighter cannot weight more than 10 pounds than the contracted weight at that moment. Then, for the rest of the day, they can keep rehydrating.

In the past, dehydrating for the weigh-in and then rehydrating was more dangerous. Technology has made dehydrating and rehydrating much easier and safer.
Rehydrating/ballooning to 1 or more weight classes above your opponent is essentially asking a naturally smaller fighter to fight a much larger fighter. It’s bullshit and dangerous for the smaller fighter.
If a boxer can’t meet the rehydration clause requirements, he’s needs to box at a higher weight.
