    Gracia, you are so beautiful! And I don't feel so alone anymore after viewing tons of videos like yours on TH-cam. I've been dealing with this problem for 35 yrs now (since puberty). I was put on birth control at the age of 13 to regulate my periods, and developing facial hair was the lovely gift that came along with it. I've never been able to afford any type of laser or electrolysis treatments, or any of the expensive medications on the market. So, I've had to pluck and shave my way through the past 35 years. Up until recently, I thought I was all alone. I was shunned by many throughout high school and my adult life because I had facial hair. It crushed my self esteem completely. Although I've had several relationships over the years, and was even married once... I blame not being able to find the right man on the fact that I had this horrible condition. I never had the self esteem to talk to the type of men I knew would make me happy, so I always settled for the ones that treated me badly. I felt I didn't deserve any better than that. I was always so jealous of beautiful women that didn't have a clue what struggling with real issues felt like. But, I now know that I wasn't so alone all these years after all. This is something hundreds of thousands (or more) of women are dealing with, just like me, and have been hiding it all these years, just like me. Although I've always been told I was pretty, I never felt like I was because I was hiding this dirty secret. And if people only knew, they wouldn't feel the same towards me anymore. I felt ashamed. Anyways, it's beautiful and brave women, just like you, and their followers on TH-cam, that have helped me to feel better about this condition, and have shared their own stories with all of us out there in hopes of possibly helping them to do something about it. I've found a few different homemade recipes on here that have worked for others, that are cheap and effective. I'm going to try them all to see which one works best for me, as I know what works for one, may not work for all. It always makes me feel just a little bit better after every video I watch on here about women battling facial hair, knowing that I'm not alone, and that women like you have decided to share their experience with others in hopes to help them find a remedy to finally put an end to this embarrassing condition. I can't thank you enough. Sending my love and gratitude your way. xo❤xo
    PS - sorry for the novel. I just wanted to let you know how much you've helped me and so many other women feel better about themselves. God bless you. ❤

      Wow, your comment is one of the 1st things I read this morning and I am so thankful for it. It took so much for me to share something so personal on the internet, but I truly felt led to do it, and so badly wanted to help others going through it because it had been such a thorn in my side for so long. You are also beautiful, and I have to say that the man that God has for you will love you just as you are, I believed that for myself and still believe it for you and any other women struggling with this. Your comment means the world to me, and I had originally told myself that if this video made even just one person feel better about themselves it would have served it purpose, and I'm glad to see that it's done more than that. Big hugs to you and thanks again for the lovely comment.

    Hormonal imbalance is the root cause. But there is also spiritual energy imbalance: the tougher/more stressed a woman get (i.e juggling many duties, feeling responsible for everything, not having enough support), the more hair she will grow on her chin/neck.
    Our bodies are telling us to nurture our feminine energies, slow down and not be "over-reactive". Sadly, our societies are gearing us towards becoming superwomen as a way to survive (i.e relying on testosterone-fueled behaviours); this is especially true when you grow up without a "reliable male presence" (father, brother, uncle, friend, etc) to balance you out.
    Healing your soul is the first step to solving your physical issue. Stay safe and look after yourselves no-matter-what. All the best.

Above what I felt from the outcome of my treatment, I gained more confidence simply from the fact that I was finally dealing with this issue in a major way. I go through so many up and downs with this issue and, if there is one thing that's for sure it's that your confidence can definitely be rebuilt. Find the procedure that works for you, and until you can fully commit to it just find solace in knowing that you're no alone! Hugs

    It's been a few videos on this topic surfacing recently, a lot of them being from black women. Man I literally thought for 20 years me and my mom were the only 2 females on earth that had hair on their faces. What a comfort to know I'm not alone. OK so I didn't think we were the only 2 literally but growing up when I saw women with facial hair they weren't even barely cute. Not at all. Now I'm seeing different methods of removal and seeing black girl that look like me going through the same problem. It's refreshing

      I feel so miserable at times, when it first started it was sparse on my neck then I plucked them and about 4 more grew back stronger, fast forward 8 yrs, it's darkened and scarred and dry on my neck due to plucking, I can't have laser as the lady said they are sporadic hairs not close together I may get burned by the laser. I can't count the amount of times I've felt so self conscious and some ppl instead of talking to my face look at my neck, I hate that the most, when I see someone glance with a look like whats that? I get so down at times because I wish I didn't have to worry about this, also wearing make up to hide the scars I don't even like applying thick make up. seeing it get worse and scarred I think how will my poor neck look in 10 years with the scarring.

      Jowairiya Arabian I’ve been using spear mint tea for 4 months and I honestly don’t see any difference. However, that could be because my diet is bad. I think if you get your diet under control ( low carb, no dairy, no gluten , minimise processed food and meat products and no coffee ) and use supplements ( magnesium , vitamin D, zinc , omega 3 , evening primrose etc ) it might work. I’m going to do these things and see if the hair reduces

  • @jazzymiaful
    @jazzymiaful 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    Thanks for sharing! I just want to affirm that you did not cause your hairs to come back when you shaved when you were younger. That is a myth. Shaving does make hair seem to grow back thicker because the hair gets getting to the root, so when you shave the thinner tops off, the new shaft under the skin pushes the thick (previously cut) shaft up from the follicle. It will continue to be thick until that thin tip from the new shaft comes out, but with shaving, that is usually cut quickly. This is why I prefer plucking, hard waxing, and epilating, because it removes the hair from the root.

    Hello there, you popped up in my feed today and thank you! Really appreciate your info about facial hair, I've struggled with it since my 30s (I'm 51 now) and have tried so many things. I had it confirmed that mine was totally hormonal so none of the remedies were guaranteed to be permanant. But I haven't tried laser; I'm thinking maybe AFTER menopause! In the meantime, I do waxing and threading and use a spin brush to keep the pores in that area super clean and exfoliated. I use Cerevie as my main moisturizer and follow up with a moisturizer with sunscreen so the hyper-pigmentation does not remain permanent. The sun is not in our favor as far as dark spots, so use that sunscreen young ladies! BTW, your hair is fierce!

  • @MariaDiazskn
    @MariaDiazskn 6 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    Laser is not to blame for the hair growing back. You need to take care of the unbalanced hormones first. And what some people take for laser is nothing more than pulsed light and that in effect isn't permanent.
    In my country laser is quite common and I know loads of women who done it and are hair free. I've been doing it myself but I've very thin light hair so my results aren't expected to be as good. Still I can see that the thicker ones have almost disappeared already and only had 5 sessions. Tried electrolysis a few years ago and it was a painful waste of time.
    Forgot to say that as our body doesn't stop producing hair we need to go back once a year for maintenance.

    Thank you for sharing. I know how you felt, I have the same issue where I would shave every day. In the cold season i would wear scarves just hide it. But in the summer I would have to shave every single day. I decided to do laser hair removal 2yrs ago, that didn't work well for me, as a matter of fact it stimulates more hair growth in my cheeks which I I didn't used to have hair in those areas. So now I m looking into doing electrolysis, which is approved by the FDA as the only permanent hair removal. I can't wait to be facial hair free.

    I've done laser hair removal for over a year and before that at the age of 17 I'm now in my early 20's and it is not permanent. At first, you will see significant results but with pcos it made the results fabulous for me no shaving and smooth skin! Now the downside I must say now is that I noticed hyperpigmentation under my chin and I wasn't too happy about that. I feel as though the laser can also trigger new hair growth. Stuff that feeds hormones is sugar and process food KEEP AWAY. Try and use glass instead of plastic and keep away from coffee it causes more hair growth, try to go all natural as much as possible and get your thyroids check. I only noticed these symptoms after my father passed away I fell into deep depression my hormones were normal but went out of balance after my dad passed away. All frozen food stay away from their are antibiotics in the chicken that we eat also it's sad to say but pcos and hair are becoming more common in women now. I have to shell out $100 a month for the laser I'm thinking of looking into electrolysis. I do believe I can go 2 months without laser and still have a smooth face. Don't get to caught up with laser its a waste of money for pcos. Go the electrolysis route.

      I do agree regarding laser hair removal and PCOS, I've been lasering for years and although the hair is not as thick as it once was on my face and all the other unwanted areas, it keeps coming back. I have put quite a lot of money in that and the results are not that great for me. I am now looking into electrolysis and maybe supplements, because on one hand the hairs on my face keep growing but the ones on my head keep thinning 😣

    I live in Calgary too! I didn't start getting hairs on my neck and chin till i was diagnosed with pcos when I was 19, I'm 21 now. The hair want as visible, but a few months back I wanted to get a full body wax cause I was going on holiday. Worst descion ever, I got ingrown hairs all over my body, the worst in my face and the hairs grew back more and thicker. Currently in uni and feeling VERY self conscious and really embarrassed about it. I try to avoid anything to do with picking cause I always get the same reaction. But I still get my eyebrows threaded. I'm looking into electrolysis and weather to consult a dermatologist. Aggressive laser (try different kinds) plus stabilising hormones is the best, but hormone pills don't necessarily work and can cause other unwanted side effects like acne and weight gain. Have found the best result is laser, but may need touch ups PRN.

    My brother eats a bunch of unhealthy stuff stays in the normal weight range and he only has facial hair, basically none on his arms, legs etc. it’s a different story for me and tbh I’m jealous. I’m not sure if my mom does stuff but she doesn’t have a lot of hair.

    I pluck my chin hairs EVERY week! It is so annoying. I may decide to get laser hair removal treatments. I'll have to do the research, though.

    I’m so relieved to find a woman who struggles with the extra hair and conceived. I have been trying to conceive for half a year now, and only just started thinking maybe I have pcos since I have the extra facial hair. I have regular periods, no acne and am a fine weight though. So it really wasn’t Til I researched the reasoning for excessive facial hair that I started to panic that maybe I have pcos and am infertile. But seeing that you conceived gives me hope! Does that mean you have pcos and conceived? Or is the hair just genetics? Thank you for making this video! This is such a hard topic to find info on!

      I have hair on my checks, upper lip, forget it I grow a full beard, lol. It started growing back so fast that I couldn't get wax anymore I had to start shaving. It had gotten so horrible I was shaving everyday, which causes razor and hyperpigmentation. Before all of this I never wore makeup, now I have to wear it everyday to cover the dark spots. Plus I have super oily skin. I always pray for a miracle.

    I’m 52 and have been dealing with this for over 30 years! Sadly Idk if there is ant treatment. Laser made it EXPLODE, making it come in thicker.

    I definitely want to go down the laser removal route😪 and then get a chemical skin peel to lighten the pigmentation

      Pigmentation will fade away by just using turmeric powder on it daily at night. U can buy the wild turmeric powder on Amazon as that doesn't stain the skin at all
