I did this exact same thing in France last week. I saw a guy falling repeatedly over and over while I was on the chair lift, he was getting up and immediately falling down. The first time I just passed by and asked if he was ok, the second time I'd watched him just constantly falling over and over from the chair lift I stopped and chatted. It turned out he'd never snowboarded ever and probably shouldn't have been right up on the mountain. I showed him how to heel edge to at least make it to the bottom of the run safely. He seemed genuinely relieved that someone had stopped to help and see he was ok, he was way outside his comfort zone. Good deed done for the day.

What I appreciate from you and your videos is that human connection you provide and that unconditional kindness. I am a newbie, I am working on planning my first time out with some friends who have offered to help teach me and your videos have inspired me to have a positive outlook on it. I am nervous but also really excited.

I will always remember the first time i rode a snowboard. I went up the bunny hill by myself. I didn't understand what i needed to do to stop or turn or do anything. A woman came by and tried to help me but she got tired like after 2 tries of me getting up and not being able to stop on the hill. She got frustrated really quick and told me i shouldn't be on that hill that snowboard wasn't for me. That was a real heartbreak moment for me. Luckily i went the next day with a friend that actually knew how to teach a noob like me. After that second first day i was very sore of the amount of times i fell but it was worth it. I finally learnt the basics and could progress from that point onwards.

Same. My first day was terrible. Went down the hill on foot and the worst part is my board slipped all the way down, fortunately no one got hit. I got no advice whatsoever but got told to put a strap on my board from my foot so it wont go away from me.
But on my next session i was starting to have fun and made some progress! Im sure will as well, just take your time doing the basics don’t compare your progress to others

Nice I'm from Brazil and currently living in Vancouver. On my first try, I almost gave up because I've tried ski and thought "oh winter sports isn't for me. ok to difficult" after I tried snowboard I fell in love!! we don't have snow in Brazil (I had never seen snow before imigrating to Canada), but I liked snowboarding very much. I'm very obsessed with snowboarding now. This is my first 'full' season (okay, the conditions are worse now at North Shore), but I can ride on blue runs, do some carves on green runs, and I'm waiting for good weather conditions to try running my first black run.. I just need to improove my ride skills to run with "high speed" because I'm very afraid with high speeds and dampening isn't very precise. sometimes I end up braking the board a lot because I got scared..

The content you share on your channel are so detailed and helpful for all boarders! However, this one really hits home for a beginner boarder 🥹💛. SOOOOO RAD! watching some beginner videos the last few days with my 10 and 13 year old daughters...so we can be a bit prepared for their first trip to Lookout Pass. My son went recently for his first time and that kinda got us wanting to try it as a family. I haven' t been on my board in over 2 decades...my old boots no longer fit me, but the Morrow E3 boots and bindings fit my son, so he lucked into a set of step-ins....i might keep my old deck though...lol
I'm planning on a beginner lesson for the youngest, and might try to do that myself for my 13 year old. I'll be watching some videos but if you have any specific videos or tips I'd greatly appreciate it.
liked and subbed! I was sure this was a good channel inside the first minute of the video!
    keep shining bro

You can see in the video when he helps her get toe side. Simply let the nose fall down the fall line then go back into toe side pressure. Repeat over n over. Toe side to fall line back into toe side. Do the same with heel side then you can start to link turns together.

Snowboarding is honestly such a hard sport to get into. We definitely need to be encouraging more people to get over the hump of controlling their edges so they can really open up their potential, and progress onto the more fun stuff like carving turns and park riding.
