the best interview ive seen so far w skrill from the grammys. asked good questions compared to the other interviewers asking the same boring questions each time.
Funny, I was just think how tedious the interviews questioning was. Like the Norm McDonald classic "where do you get your ideas from?". Skrillex did a good job, in spite of that.
@@mukeshpathak7302 He is telling to make own type of music without copying other artists....like he made dubstep when other genres were huge...but still he made dubsteps and found his true sound/style.
@slowmysoul Wait, what? Dude, no.... he most definitely did not create dubstep. Not even close. You need to go back much farther than Skrillex to see its origins. 😅
I'm 22 and I've known him since I was like 9-10 as well! I was practically raised by his music, and it's had such a massive impact on my career as an artist. I'm so happy to see that behind such great music is also a great person 💜
"the more you don't think about other things and how people see you and the more you find out who you are, you can train your soul in your mind to be yourself as you're creating and not try to think of anything else. that's the best. I mean success is something you attract, not something you catch. So you have to work on really being the most to yourself. you have to connect with your music, that's everything."
One thing I notice that Skrillex doesn't do during this interview is talk about himself in the sense of being impressed about his talent/skill. Also he likes seeing people thrive so he is willing to share information freely.
@@thephilosopher7173 I wonder if he got hated more by the classic dubstep enthusiasts or the people who didn't understand musicality of electronic music(especially bass music).
classic dubstep fans hated skrillex, they are the ones who put the "brostep" tag into skrillex's dubstep as a form of separating mainstream skrillex music from classic dubstep @rebirth4119
Skrillex is honestly one of the most intricate producers of all time, his stuff is SUPER technical. I feel a lot of people don't realize how good he is, kinda like Mike Dean in that way where he really is one of the best producers/engineers of all time.
I'm a big fan of Skrillex's approach to music, it's all about expansion and innovation not bound to any particular genre. He's the truth no wonder he's gotten so far
Amazing interview! Always remarkable hearing him talk about his career and work in such a humble light. Such a great role model for upcoming producers.
Wikipedia says he was the former worldwide A&R for SONY. He started in 2004 according to this article I read. Mr. Skrillex definitely had some good contacts that may have helped his career
What an incredible humble human being. I’ve been listening to him since Scary Monsters and Bangarang era, and I aspire to be a music producer one day. 🙏

This was such a good interview. One of the best skrillex interviews i have seen in a long time. Great questions man.

Well he was forced to be humble because of the time when he was hated by those in Dubstep. So the dude had to overcome a lot.
