    I like that this one looks a little smaller than some of the others I seen. And durable looking. And I like that it has lights, multiple ways of powering it, and the fact that you could connect something to it with the usb. It looks like a good one.

    I cannot say anything about this particular
    Emergency Radio, but it seems fairly typical for its price range.
    [ There’s a Plethora of these radios on the market, from $20.oo (USD), to just over $100.oo(USD).
    I believe everyone should have a decent Emergency Radio.
    [ I have many in my collection. - but then, I live in FLORIDA ‼️]
    Good video.

      Just getting into emergency radios and have been having a lot of trouble finding a good quality one. Can recommend any? No matter the price. I just want reliability and quality. I’ve seen a lot of people mention midland ER series and the Kaito KA series but I see so many mixed reviews on both.
      Appreciate the help if you have time!

      Sorry for the delay in my answer.
      KAITO has been around for a long time. Their quality was pretty poor to begin with, but they’ve really come up.
      They offer a 1 year warranty, and have a Warranty Center/Tech Support, in California, where their Imprter is [ along with Tecsun brand] .
      One of the best, and most popular Emergency Radios on the market, continues to be the Kaito KA-500 Voyager.
      The absolute BEST, would be the C.Crane CCRadioSolar.
      [ no Short Wave band, no reading lamp, but long lasting 18650 rechargeable battery, and optional use of 3 “AA “batteries. Outstanding reception, and interesting features. Digital readout.
      C.Crane also comes with a 1 year warranty, and is an American company.
      They only make the highest quality radios under their brand.
      Extremely high quality control.
      Out of all I’ve come across, of all I’ve seen reviews for, [ and I’m “connected “ to 4 radio Reviewers, one of which, I loan many of my personal radios for his channel [ “Tom’s Radio Room Show”].
      These 2 are my favorites.
      Sangean WMR-88 is also high quality, but smaller battery, and no “AA” option.
      C.Crane also has an older model that is not bad, but the CCRSolar [ their new one ] is really top end, - but no Short Wave. The KA-500 Voyager is a small Portable instead of a pocket size. And has a lot of useful features.

    Cool I'm not familiar with short wave on radios. Have a great day!

      Short Wave radio:
      There are Broadcast stations that use the Short Wave band. These stations broadcast over long distances , actually across the world.
      It depends on where you are, as to what stations you can get.
      Most of these stations broadcast around “prime time “[ locally], that is, late afternoon through the evening hours where you live.
      They use designated sections on the radio dial.
      It’s interesting.

    Latest versions of this radio are sold without removable li-ion cell.

    • @TSGEnt
      @TSGEnt  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Perhaps to keep manufacturing cost down and/or make it "non-user-servicable". That's a shame. Can the whole thing easily unscrew to get at the li-ion?

    • @rsrare
      @rsrare 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@TSGEnt Unfortunately not unscrewable. You can not even check if battery capacity is the same as advertised. It is still a good radio for $19 on discount, but i rather pay more to have removeable 21700 cell like you showcased.

      @@rsrare Thanks for the update. It's shame. I agree, it's better to have it replaceable. I'll keep my eyes peeled for an alternate solution.

    So for short wave how long does the antenna has to be?

    • @jeffking4176
      @jeffking4176 ปีที่แล้ว

      These radios perform much better with a length of wire. A few feet would work, but too long, and the radio may overload.

      I understand 1/4 wave of the freq you are using is a good start.

    • @ObamaoZedong
      @ObamaoZedong ปีที่แล้ว +3

      20ft of cheap wire, with one end stripped and wrapped around the antenna, should do the trick. Doesn't have to be 1/4 wave of the band because it's not transmitting.
