  • In this episode, we look at why networks are used in vehicles and how they typically work. We talk about different network technologies (e.g. CAN), and why they were developed. And we touch on the very newest network technology that has come into vehicles: Ethernet!

    CONNECT WITH ENGINEERING THE JIGSAW
#EnginEEringTheJigsaw is a new series from #VectorInformatik that explains the technologies and concepts that are being built into the electrical/electronic (‘E/E’) systems of modern vehicles, and how Vector helps engineers to simplify their daily work: th-cam.com/users/hashtagengin...
To help you approach the episodes, we are grading them according to the level of content, as ‘foundation’, ‘intermediate’ or ‘advanced’. For more information on the series, please watch our introduction episode: • Welcome to EnginEEring...

I see you mention J1939 in the above but not in the video. Is that an upcoming module?

We list the topics covered by the e-learning in general. Should we consider the J1939 protocol for a dedicated "EnginEEring the Jigsaw" episode? Oh, and this page provides a good overview: www.vector.com/int/en/know-how/protocols/sae-j1939/
