I got a set of three Glenfarclas miniatures and that’s how I tried the 15 for the first time early this year and I will buy a whole bottle for sure. Also have a normal bottle of the 12 but prefer to pay that extra money for the 15 instead.
Great summary, Alan, of this really solid expression from Glenfarclas. It's probably my favourite from the core range - you can put that down to the 46% ABV which transports a great range of flavours. A wee bit of complexity goes a long way. Cheers!

Another exelennt video Alan. Don't think this is available in the US but recently got one in an order from the UK but haven't opened it yet. Was attracted to the 46% as I think this is the only crore range bottle not at 43%. Interesting that the US market bottles of the 12 come in the dark glass bottle same as the 15. Cheers
Another one I’ll have to revisit. I was at a friends and had a dram from a freshly cracked bottle and I found it hot, as you said, and a bit thin and astringent. But that was years ago. A lot of bottles newly opened and upon first sip are like that and then given some time they really open up and calm down. You’re 15 container looks a lot the same as my 17 year old in colour. Looking forward to seeing what you think of the 17!

Great review and this bottle, it sounded so good through your experience. I can't explain it, but the last bottle of Glenfarclas I had was not great. So much so, I have a not in my book "don't buy again". Perhaps the bottle was off, but it was sulphur and bitter. I can't explain it because I enjoy the 12, love the 105 and the 17 year. These guys at Glenfarclas seem like they are trying to help us out by keeping good whisky affordable. Well, I guess I'll just have to reward them by purchasing their line-up. Cheers Jerry they are wonderful whiskies buddy... I think you would love the 105 my friend, however there all fantastic value and complex, I think the direct fired still are adding heat which I think is making them punchier and making them feel like higher abv... Great stuff
