Ya know what's horrifying whenever I see these variations alongside the others is that you always wonder what their last moments were prior to succumbing to the infection. Like you look at their mutations and you can never tell which is part of the mutation and which was the injury that ended their lives which led to them becoming Necromorphs. Perhaps it's best we never know, the mystery is as horrifying as their presence alone
Good points! It is really eerie to think about, and I find myself wondering that a lot about the Dividers especially! I even wondered if it could potentially be assembled from the body parts of multiple Humans But yeah, it's very horrific and interesting to think about, and makes me love the Necromorph designs so much 😄
It also makes you wonder why there isn't more of these things. It's clear that they're just a bunch of reanimated body parts and it's not like the undead place any special emphasis on keeping you as intact as possible after they're done with you. Chen's demise and his skewering of a Valor soldier later on are perhaps the cleanest cases of unaliving that I've ever seen a Necromorph do and that says a LOT.
The more i see them, the more i wonder why they always wear officer uniforms. And then i got the idea that the reason most of all of the officers became deviders is because they already have a natural ability to lead before they died, so naturally when they split apart, the head can command it's limbs to attack. Like the marker is making use of the hosts natural skills.
Well in my opinion is just that they don't have alt skins as other necromorphs like the Leaper. For what I remenber they are just made of chunks and limbs of different dismembered corpses reanimated and attached together.
Here's my video taking a closer look at the "Divider" Necromorphs in the 2023 Dead Space Remake. They have a lot of really interesting and gruesome details! I learned a lot about them while editing this together, and I hope that you will find them as interesting as I did :D
That would make a lot of sense! Perhaps the intestines were repurposed into some or all of the tendrils, and that's why the large hole is there I considered mentioning that possibility in the video, but I honestly forgot by the time I had finished editing it 😅 And thank you, I appreciate it a lot! :)
As much nightmare fuel Deadspace is packed to the brim with, Dividers are one of those top few Necro that really unsettled me in both the original and remake. From the way it just creeps out the corner, to how despite how thin it appears it still towers over you and can take in a lot of hits and of course to how it can just break apart and still give you trouble. Also its skeletal appearance always reminds me of early renaissance/medieval paintings and drawings of “Death” where it would be depicted via personification and sometimes shown in a battlefield or a way to personify a plague. Even more so here where it’s skin is torn off exposing more of its bones 8:02 I think the other thing I always found unsettling is how it’s one of the few moments you can see a Necromorph assuming total control of Isaac especially how it full on body jacks you(it’s also hilarious too how after all that trouble it tries to adjust its dangling head) I know deadspace is covered in so many ways but it’s cool seeing all the gruesome details you catch and show.
Those are some really good points, and observations! The Dividers gave me chills, with the deep howls and low groans they make. I would get scared just hearing the noises, before even seeing them haha ☠️ And that's an interesting analogy to those paintings of death! Side note: when I played the original way back in 2008, my own nickname for them was "Reapers". They reminded me of grim reapers with their tattered clothing, and I didn't learn their actual name until a bit later lol 💀 And thank you, I really appreciate hearing that! I have been really surprised with how incredibly detailed the Necromorphs are up-close. I did my best to get good views, and showcase as many cool details as I could see. So that makes me happy to hear that you enjoyed the videos :)
Oh, and the death animation when the Divider's head kills Isaac is still one of the coolest deaths I have seen in horror games. I feel like it is so memorable, and such an interesting/terrifying concept! I love how Isaac's legs tremble, and his hands twitch, as the Head is assuming control over his body. It's such a great animation and idea 🔥
Issac Clarke: *hacks Necromorphs apart* The brethren moon(s)/Marker: "Modern problems require modern solutions." I always try to cut them apart first, then use an "explosive" fire mode (The mine/grenade for the pulse rifle, the gravity well for the force gun, the firebomb for the flamethrower, etc) to finish off the rest.
Lol, that's great!! And nice, those sound like good ways to handle them! I like using the force gun to blast at all the parts, once they've split apart. But if I don't have that for whatever reason, I'll try and stasis as many as I can and then pick them off one by one 😄
I never actually stopped to look at the details on them probably because i was to scared to fight them and plus when they turn into a bunch of small targets it makes it annoying to kill them
@@joevin5142 Hmmm...for me, the environment felt like the scariest thing to deal with in Impossible Mode 😅 The Necromorphs can be dangerous, but did not concern me nearly as much as areas where you could die instantly 😵 The Leviathan boss fights are also pretty intense. If you try Impossible Mode, I would mostly recommend just trying to make sure you are stocked up with a decent amount of med packs at all times. It's worth spending some money on healing items, for extra safety. Stasis Packs are also really useful, for when you get overwhelmed by Necromorphs 😃
I knew dead space remake was going to have some insanely gruesome details. Glad someone has finally gone through the trouble of getting good close up footage!
I'm happy to hear that! It took a lot of effort, but I learned a lot of cool stuff about them and it made me appreciate them much more :) I always thought the Necromorphs in the remake looked great, but I am always surprised by how amazingly detailed most of them look up close 😄
I was thinking how awesome it would be if divider just splits up after taking damage or if you are getting far away from him and then after it's parts are near you he can just transform back . I mean this would be a cool feature don't you think
nothing scares me as much as the two dividers in End of Days :P taking another look at their design makes me think, what are the chances that Dividers are made out of already separated body parts that came to life individually? in original Dead Space, we do encounter loose parts as enemies before fighting a fully assembled Divider, and it would maybe explain why it didn't grow scythe-like claws from its back or from its hands! just a thought tho
I wonder that too, about Dividers! It would be really interesting if they were assembled from the body parts of multiple people 😃 Oh, and in the remake you also come across Divider parts a couple of times before seeing a full Divider (I believe in Chapter 3, and again in Chapter 7). I hadn't considered that perhaps that's why they didn't grow bladed-limbs though, which would be a neat explanation if so!
@@DanTheManPSFan that was my first thought about the divider, like "how come it looks like slenderman and not like a cockroach person?" and it just struck me :P
That mess hall on Chapter 10 is also where Jacob Temple and Elizabeth Cross were tied up and killed by Challus Mercer. The mess hall is just a bad place all around with the dividers and where the original characters died
I'm happy to hear that you're interested in a video on the Twitchers! I plan to do a video on them one day, especially because they are my personal favorite Necromorph :) I had a lot of trouble getting good views of them, but just very recently I found a good spot to take their bodies into Zero Gravity for great close-up views of their details. So hopefully I can do a good video on them, when I have the time 😃
@@pan2desu Also, the Hive Mind is said to be able to control the smaller Necromorphs telepathically (in the remake, Dr. Kyne briefly mentions this when talking about it near the end of the game). Although I'm not sure if this means that it is actively controlling the majority of them, or just some. But maybe that helps explain how Necromorphs function without sight 🙂
Hey, so I'm not sure if I can do a " Gruesome Body Horror" video on the Guardian Tentacles. It doesn't quite have recognizable human features besides bone and muscle tissues (from what I can tell). So the "Body Horror" element is not as apparent as the other Necromorphs I did that "Closer Look" video on them before, a long while back though. I'm not really sure what else I would add, if I made a new video about them 🥲 th-cam.com/video/HoA77YEFduU/w-d-xo.html

Hey, I'm glad you are interested and looking forward to videos on those Necromorphs! 😃 I haven't made a video on the Pregnants yet, but hopefully I can do it soon. I'm planning on doing a video on Infectors next, and then probably Pregnants after that. I have a lot of good footage recorded already, but I mostly just need to take the time to edit it together :) Eventually I'd like to do a video on the Crawlers too, but it might still be a while before I get to it. They are really creepy Necromorphs, with a great design though!
What I really dont get in this is like the mutations of the monsters in this game does not match the tissue and meat like these are to much meat organs and bones that a normal human has how are they built I dont know
Seems like the mutations can cause new tissue growth, along with the original tissues re-shaping into new features. I'm not exactly sure how it all works, but that's also why I love Science-Fiction, because it opens up a lot of cool potential for interesting designs 🔥
Yes, I will make a video on them eventually. I'm doing Infectors next, and then Pregnants after! :) I already have a lot of great views recorded of them, but just need to edit it all together 😁
@@Ceccener yknow, it's funny you say that because, technically one of them had to be her, right? Even if she had only been merely assimilated into the corruption. I'd have loved a little easter egg where one of them was her, but I guess the marker could block it out in Issac's mind, and present her necromorph form as another generic one to prevent Issac from learning the truth, and thus, probably not doing the markers bidding.
