  • On Sunday, April 16th, Mark Klingel and I hosted a photo charter on the Middletown & Hummelstown Railroad just East of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Representing 2 eras were two different train consists, featuring a “mock” Western Maryland local utilizing the M&H’s Western Maryland painted ALCO S6 and an early M&H work train utilizing both of the railroad’s signature GE “center cabs.”
With early morning fog making way to sun in the afternoon, we had a great day along the railroad between the interchange at Middletown and Swatara Creek, outside of Hummelstown.
I’d like to thank Andy Ottinger (conductor/actor) and his awesome crew for delivering what was truly an amazing experience, transforming our paper itinerary into an authentic 1970s railroad experience. This was an EXTREMELY friendly and knowledgeable crew to work with, who happily did everything we asked for throughout the day. The added details such as spot suggestions, impromptu history and details shared throughout the day, and accommodating nature really made this trip special.

I'm currently editing my footage from this charter. This event was a blast and the foggy weather has been something I've always wanted to film in. Thanks guy so much for putting it together!!
